Hanover Mountain

Balsam Cap is a mountain located in Ulster County, New York. The mountain is part of the Catskill Mountains. Balsam Cap is flanked to the north by Friday Mountain, and to the southwest by Rocky Mountain. The northeast and southeast slopes of Balsam Cap drain into Maltby Hollow Brook, thence into Bush Kill, the Ashokan Reservoir, Esopus Creek, the Hudson River, and into New York Bay. The southwest side of Balsam Cap drains into the headwaters of Rondout Creek, thence into the Hudson River. The northwest side of Balsam Cap drains into the East Branch of the Neversink River, the Delaware River, and into Delaware Bay. Balsam Cap is within the Slide Mountain Wilderness of New York's Catskill State Park.

Breath Hill is a mountain located in the Catskill Mountains of New York southwest of West Shokan. Little Rocky is located southeast, and Balsam Cap is located north of Breath Hill.

South Mountain, 2,185 feet in elevation, is a lesser summit in the New York Catskill Mountains massif that includes Ashokan High Point, Mombaccus Mountain and Little Rocky. Its northwest slope descends to Watson Hollow, its southwest slope to South Hollow and its eastern side rises above High Point Mountain Road in the Olive hamlet of West Shokan. Following a 2005 court ruling against the town of Olive, a prominently visible cell phone tower was erected on a patch of private property on the ridge north of the South Mountain summit.

The Burroughs Range is in the Catskill Mountains of New York southeast of West Shokan. It consists of Cornell Mountain, Slide Mountain, the highest peak in the Catskills, and Wittenberg Mountain. The range was named for John Burroughs, a nature essayist whose forte was the observation of nature with accompanying poetical or philosophical commentary. Romer Mountain is located northeast and Friday Mountain is located south of Burroughs Range.

High Point (frequently called Ashokan High Point) is a mountain located in the Catskill Mountains of New York west of Olivebridge. Mombaccus Mountain is located southwest, and South Mountain is located north of High Point.
