West Nanjing Road Station (Chinese: 南京西路; pinyin: Nánjīng Xī Lù) is a virtual interchange station between Lines 2, 12 and 13 of the Shanghai Metro, located along one of Shanghai's main commercial streets, with a number of international flagship stores situated nearby. This station, known as Shimen No. 1 Road station (simplified Chinese: 石门一路; traditional Chinese: 石門一路; pinyin: Shímén Yī Lù) before October 2006, is part of the initial section of Line 2 that opened from Zhongshan Park to Longyang Road that opened on 20 September 1999. The station changed into its current name in October 2006 according to the new convention to name metro stations after famous streets or sights nearby rather than the vertical street neighbouring the station, making it easier for visitors to find these places. The connection with lines 12 and 13 opened on 19 December 2015. At present it is a virtual interchange station meaning passengers need to exit the station to transfer to other lines and only those with 1- or 3-day passes or Shanghai Public Transport Cards (SPTC) are not charged for such transfers, provided SPTC users transfer within 30 minutes. The station is planned to become a physical interchange station in the upcoming years.

HKRI Taikoo Hui (Chinese: 興業太古滙; pinyin: Xīngyè Tàigǔ Huì) is a mixed use development on West Nanjing Road in Shanghai, China. It comprises two office towers, a large retail mall, 102 serviced apartments and a 111-room hotel called The Middle House. In late 2017, Starbucks opened a 30,000 square feet (2,800 m2) Reserve Roastery at the project, the largest Starbucks branch in the world at the time.

Tomorrow Square (simplified Chinese: 明天广场; traditional Chinese: 明天廣場; pinyin: Míngtiān Guǎngchǎng) is the eighth-tallest building in Shanghai, China. It is located in Huangpu District, Puxi, close to People's Square. It is about 285 m (934 ft) tall and has 63 floors. This multi-purpose building contains a 342-room JW Marriott hotel, and 255 executive apartment units. It was completed on 1 October 2003. Starting from a square base, the all-concrete Tomorrow Square tower transforms itself into a diagonal square as it rises to a peak. Engineers of the exterior vertical support system were faced with a unique challenge as a result of this unusual shape. They chose flat slabs for the hotel floors and beam and slab construction for the office floors. A combination of sheer walls and frame action stabilizes the slender tower laterally against wind and earthquake forces. The foundations are 80-meter (260 ft)-long bored piles supporting a column mat.

Ciros Plaza, or Ciro's Plaza (仙乐斯广场), is a commercial office building and houses an eco-friendly shopping complex. It is located at 388 Nanjing Road West in Shanghai, China.Ciro's Plaza is a 39-story skyscraper in Huangpu District with three basement levels. With a total floor area of 99,135 square meters (1,067,080 square feet), it houses diverse office, retail and dining spaces. The glass facade gives it an ultra-contemporary appearance but the construction, repair and maintenance of the building have strictly followed eco-friendly processes. Organic cosmetics and food stores, groceries, fashion boutiques, furniture and home decor shops are just some of the retailers here. Ciro's Plaza is also popular for its numerous coffeehouses and restaurants.

Jing'an Sculpture Park, or Jingan Sculpture Park, is a sculpture park in the Jing'an District of Shanghai, China.

The Shanghai Art Museum (Chinese: 上海美术馆) was an art museum in the city of Shanghai, China. In October 2012, the museum was rebranded as the China Art Museum when it moved to the China pavilion at Expo 2010 on the former Shanghai Expo 2010 lands. The Shanghai Art Museum building is the former clubhouse building of the Shanghai Race Club. It sits on the western edge of People's Park, north of People's Square, which was once the Shanghai race course. The Shanghai Art Museum was the original home of the Shanghai Biennale, founded in 1996 by Fang Zengxian, then director of the museum. The former museum building is being converted to house the Shanghai History Museum, which had been left without a home due to redevelopment since 1999.

Jing'an District (Chinese: 静安区) is one of the central districts of Shanghai. In 2014, it had 1,180,000 inhabitants in an area of 37 km2 (14 sq mi).The district borders the Hongkou District to the east, Huangpu District to the east and south, Putuo District to the west, Baoshan District to the north and Changning District to the west. On 4 November 2015 Zhabei District merged with Jing'an District, bringing Shanghai down to 15 districts and one county.Jing'an District is named after Jing'an Temple, an ancient traditional Chinese Buddhist temple. Today's temple is a new replica of the old one, located in the southern part of the district. An Art Deco "dancehall" is just across the street; the neighborhood is largely residential, but with many bars and restaurants. Jing'an Park, located opposite the temple, is popular among locals; it used to be a graveyard for foreigners in the old Shanghai.Historically, the northern part of the district, what used to be Zhabei, has been highly populated with working class residents. However, due to the shift in the structure of industries and increasing number of immigrants from outside Shanghai, partly due to its reasonable real estate prices (compared to its counterparts such as Putuo and Hongkou), the district has become increasingly appealing to city residents.

The Shanghai Natural History Museum (Chinese: 上海自然博物馆; pinyin: Shànghǎi Zìrán Bówùguǎn; Shanghainese: Zånhae Zyzoe Pohvehguoe) is a museum dedicated to natural history in the city of Shanghai. It is one of the largest museums of natural sciences in China. Formerly housed in the Shanghai Cotton Exchange Building, the museum was moved to a purpose-built site in the Jing'an Sculpture Park in 2015.

The Chong Hing Finance Center is a 36-storey Grade A commercial building, located at 288 Nanjing Road West in the Huang Pu District of Shanghai, China.

The Shanghai Grand Theater (simplified Chinese: 上海大剧院; traditional Chinese: 上海大劇院; pinyin: Shànghǎi dà jùyuàn) is one of the largest and best-equipped automatic stages in the world. Since the theater opened on August 27, 1998, it has staged over 6,000 performances of operas, musicals, ballets, symphonies, chamber music concerts, spoken dramas and various Chinese operas. The site is located at the intersection of Central Boulevard and Huangpi Road South in the northern part of the People's Square in Huangpu District, Shanghai. It is the home of the Shanghai Opera House Company; however, the title "Shanghai Opera House" officially applies to only the performing company and not to the building. The Shanghai Grand Theater is also the resident for other performing companies.

The Ohel Rachel Synagogue (Hebrew for "Tent of Rachel") is a Sephardi synagogue in Shanghai, China. Built by Sir Jacob Elias Sassoon in memory of his wife Rachel, it was completed in 1920 and consecrated in 1921. Ohel Rachel is the largest synagogue in the Far East, and one of the only two still standing in Shanghai. Repurposed first under the Japanese occupation during World War II and again following the Communist conquest of Shanghai in 1949, the synagogue has been a protected architectural landmark of the city since 1994. It was reopened for some Jewish holidays from 1999 and briefly held more regular Shabbat services as part of the 2010 Shanghai Expo.

Jin Jiang Tower (aka Jinjiang, Chinese: 新锦江大酒店) is a 46-floor tower in Shanghai, China and was completed in 1988. It was built by architects Wong Tung & Partners Limited.It was the tallest building in Shanghai from its completion in 1988, to the construction of the Oriental Pearl Tower in 1994. It has the largest observatory revolving restaurant in Shanghai.
