Founded in 2016, The Charter School was taken over by Trivandrum International School in 2019. This led to the inception of Cochin International School The Charter School is a CBSE affiliated school, from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Electronics City, Kochi, also known as NeST Electronic City is an under construction Special Economic Zone targeting electronics hardware manufacturing, promoted by NeST group located at Kochi, India. The SEZ will be built over a land area of 30 acres (12.1 ha) in Kalamassery on a budget of ₹2500 Crores.The notified processing area will extend to 2,000,000 sq ft (185,800 m2), dedicated to Electronics Hardware Manufacturing, Software Development and IT Enabled services. It also accommodates a non processing area of 1,500,000 sq ft (139,400 m2) occupied by a shopping mall with multiplex and an international convention centre, as well as residential apartments and condominiums.

On 29 October 2023, a series of improvised explosive device (IED) blasts took place during a convention of Jehovah's Witnesses in Kalamassery, a suburb of Kochi, India. Five women, two men, and a child were killed and more than fifty other people were injured when the group was holding a Sunday morning session of their annual regional convention in southern India's Kerala state. A man shortly surrendered at the Kodakara police station, claiming to be responsible for the blast. The motive of the blast is still under investigation.
