Southwick railway station (Scotland)

Edingham Castle is a late 16th-century tower house situated near Dalbeattie, Dumfries and Galloway. It is the remains of an early tower house built for the Livingstones of Little Airds. It is near Edingham Munitions Factory and is a scheduled monument. Edingham Castle was built as a four-story tower in 1570-1585 by the Morrisons. They were succeeded by the Afflecks in 1660. Later, in the 1700s this became the McVicar-Afflecks. It was roofless by 1872 when it was purchased by John Hutinson. The remains measure 8.6 meters x 7.2 meters.

Dalbeattie Star Football Club is a Scottish association football club based in Dalbeattie, Dumfries and Galloway. It currently competes in the South of Scotland League. The club had previously played in the Lowland League. Home matches are played at Islecroft Stadium in Dalbeattie, and as an SFA member they also play in the Scottish Cup.

Kirkgunȝeon (Scottish Gaelic: Cill Fhionnain) is a village and civil parish in Dumfries and Galloway, south west Scotland. The village is 10.4 miles (16.7 km) south west of Dumfries and 4.1 miles (6.6 km) north east of Dalbeattie. The civil parish is in the former county of Kirkcudbrightshire, and is bounded by the parishes Lochrutton to the north, Urr to the west, Colvend and Southwick to the south and New Abbey to the east. Kirkgunzeon is recorded in c.1200 as Kirkwynnin. Wynnin represents a Cumbric form of the Gaelic Finnén, a diminutive of Findbarr. William J. Watson takes this to be Findbarr of Moyville. Thomas Clancy argues the name commemorates Uinniau a local British saint, not recorded in literary records.

The Stewartry was a local government district from 1975 until 1996 within the Dumfries and Galloway region in south-west Scotland. Under the name The Stewartry of Kirkcudbright the area of the former district is still used as a lieutenancy area. Dumfries and Galloway Council has a Stewartry area committee which approximately covers the same area, subject to some adjustments where ward boundaries no longer follow the pre-1996 district boundary. The Stewartry covers the majority of the historic county of Kirkcudbrightshire, and derives its name from the county's alternative name of the "The Stewartry of Kirkcudbright".

Dalbeattie (, Scots: Dawbeattie, Scottish Gaelic: Dail Bheithe meaning 'haugh of the birch' or Dail bhàite 'drowned (i.e. liable to flood) haugh') is a town in the historical county of Kirkcudbrightshire in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. Dalbeattie is in a wooded valley on the Urr Water 4 miles (6 km) east of Castle Douglas and 12 miles (19 km) south west of Dumfries. The town is famed for its granite industry and for being the home town of William McMaster Murdoch, the First Officer of the RMS Titanic.

Dalbeattie High School is a small rural secondary school on the edge of Dalbeattie in the historical county of Kirkcudbrightshire in the local council area of Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland. The school has 380 pupils, with 40 staff.The original school was built between 1950 and 1958 (edit: how can the original school built between 1950 and 1958 if William Murdoch ((an officer who was on the RMS Titanic on April 15th 1912)) has went to that school?) by the Kirkcudbrightshire County architect Archibald Thomson Caldwell and has been replaced by a new build which was officially opened in August 2018. Combined with the relocated primary it forms the Dalbeattie Learning Campus.

Drumcoltran Tower is a late-16th-century tower house situated in the historical county of Kirkcudbrightshire near Kirkgunzeon, Dumfries and Galloway. Like other towers in the area, Drumcoltran was built by a branch of the Maxwell family around 1570 but passed with the estate to the Irvings in 1668. The Maxwells however constructed the existing farm steading and made alterations to the interior of the tower in the 18th century. It was designated a scheduled monument in 1928.
