The Wave is a firm building artificial wave pools for surfing in England. The Wave: Bristol was opened in 2019, on the northern outskirts of the city. A second site, The Wave: London, is planned.

Patchway is a town in South Gloucestershire, England, situated 10 km (6.2 mi) north-north west of central Bristol. The town has become an overflow settlement for Bristol and is contiguous with Bristol's urban area, along with the nearby towns of Filton and Bradley Stoke. Patchway is twinned with Clermont l'Herault, France, and Gauting, Germany. It was established as a civil parish in 1953, becoming separate from the parish of nearby Almondsbury.

Cattybrook Brickpit is a 2.2-hectare (5.4-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest near the village of Almondsbury, South Gloucestershire, notified in 1989. It began as a clay pit and brickworks.

Bristol Cars were manufacturers of hand-built luxury cars headquartered in Bristol, England. After being placed in receivership and being taken over in 2011, it entered liquidation in February 2020. After the Second World War, the car division of the Bristol Aeroplane Company was formed, later becoming Bristol Cars Limited. Bristol had only one sales showroom, on the corner of Kensington High Street and Holland Road in London.It was always a low-volume manufacturer; the most recent published official production figures were for 1982, which stated that 104 cars were produced in that year.The company suspended manufacturing in March 2011, when administrators were appointed, 22 staff were made redundant at the factory in Filton, Bristol and subsequently the company was dissolved. In April 2011, a new company was formed by the administrator to sell the original assets to Kamkorp. Since 2011, the company has been restoring and selling all models of the marque while a new model was being developed. The company had revealed a desire to return to automotive production in 2018 with an all-new model, called the "Bullet", initially dubbed "Project Pinnacle". The car was first revealed to the public on 26 July 2016, and homologation was set to have begun some time in 2018.

Cribbs Causeway is both a road in South Gloucestershire, England, running north of the city of Bristol, and the adjacent area which is notable for its out-of-town shopping and leisure facilities. The retail and leisure complex takes its name from the road, and includes retail parks, supermarkets, an enclosed shopping centre known as The Mall, an ice-rink, a cinema, a ten-pin bowling alley, and a gym. The Cribbs Causeway road is a historic route, as it follows a section of a Roman road from Sea Mills to South Gloucestershire, part of a longer Roman route from Gloucester to the south-west of England. The modern road of that name is situated north of Bristol, and west of the town of Patchway, in the civil parish of Almondsbury. It runs approximately north-east from the northern edge of Bristol at Henbury, to a point just beyond the M5 motorway (at junction 17), and forms parts of today's A4018 and B4055 roads. It is one of the primary access routes from Bristol to the Cribbs Causeway retail and leisure complex; other primary access routes being the M5 motorway itself, and the Hayes Way link to the A38. The Hazel Brook rises at Cribbs Causeway, flowing southwards through Blaise Castle estate, before joining the River Trym.

Charlton Hayes is a British mixed-use development located on land north of Filton Airfield and is a new extension to Patchway. Planning permission was granted by the South Gloucestershire Council in 2008 to build 2,200 homes for 6,000 residents. Charlton Hayes was named after the village of Charlton, which was demolished to make way for Filton Airfield extension.

Filton Airport or Filton Aerodrome (IATA: FZO, ICAO: EGTG) was a private airport in Filton and Patchway, within South Gloucestershire, 4 NM (7.4 km; 4.6 mi) north of Bristol, England.

Easter Compton is a village in the civil parish of Almondsbury, South Gloucestershire, England. It is situated at the bottom of a hill (known as Blackhorse Hill) near Junction 17 of the M5 Motorway on the B4055 road. The village is only 1.5 miles away from 'The Mall' shopping centre and leisure complex at Cribbs Causeway. There is a pub (The Fox), a post office (open Monday/Wednesday/Friday in the mornings and based in the village hall), Methodist chapel, bowling alley, and a playing field (including skate park). It is served by the church of Compton Greenfield, as well as the chapel in the village. The B4055 road leads to Pilning, Redwick and Severn Beach. The National Cycle Network runs through the village on its way to the Severn Bridge by which it is possible to enter Wales on foot or bicycle. There are some walks locally which give great views of the surrounding countryside, especially from the top of Spaniorum Hill. Each year in June, the village holds a carnival. The main road through the village is closed and the carnival procession finishes on the playing field where the floats are judged and various entertainments and stalls are available. In 2006, due to insurance restrictions, the carnival, previously drawn by lorries and vans provided by a local haulage firm, was restricted to non-motorised transport and the traditional throwing of water and flour was forbidden. In recent times the carnival has been cancelled due to the pandemic. The village also puts on a large fireworks display on 5 November to mark Guy Fawkes Night. Bristol Zoo is planning to open a large zoological and adventure park in woodland which it owns adjacent to Blackhorse Hill.The Wave Bristol, a park with a 200 metre long artificial wave pool for surfing opened near the village in 2019.

Charlton was the name of a small village or large hamlet in Gloucestershire, England with a Bethel Chapel and Sunday School. It was demolished in the late 1940s. Its site is (in 2020) occupied by part of the derelict runway and safety margins of the former Bristol Filton Airport. The village was located between Filton and what is today the Cribbs Causeway out-of-town commercial and retail area immediately north of Bristol. To the north of the village lay fields and Over Court Deer Park. which is today Bristol Golf Club.

Wild Place Project is a wildlife conservation park in South Gloucestershire, United Kingdom. It is run by the Bristol Zoological Society (BZS) and was the sister site of Bristol Zoo until closure of that site in 2022. In early 2024, the Wild Place Project will become the new Bristol Zoo and be home to new exhibits. The park has been designed to link specific ecosystems and conservation programmes around the world, and was originally intended to be split into biomes, representing species found only in specific habitats. Current areas include: British Ancient woodland, Benoué National Park and Discover Madagascar. The species list currently includes red river hog, cheetah, zebra, antelope, common eland, meerkat, gelada baboon, Kirk's dik-dik, Pink pigeon, Visayan tarictic hornbill, village weaver, reticulated giraffe, wolverine, arctic fox, eurasian lynx, grey wolf and brown bear.

Brabazon is a British mixed-use development located on land on the former Filton Airfield in South Gloucestershire, and is a new extension to the northern fringe of Bristol.

Aerospace Bristol is an aerospace museum at Filton, to the north of Bristol, England, U.K. The project is run by the Bristol Aero Collection Trust and houses a varied collection of exhibits, including Concorde Alpha Foxtrot, the final Concorde to be built and the last to fly.
