Ambley Wood

Darland Banks is a 29.1-hectare (72-acre) Local Nature Reserve on the southern outskirts of Gillingham in Kent. It is owned by Medway Council and managed by Kent Wildlife Trust.This area of grassland, scrub and woodland has diverse fauna and flora, including the largest population of man orchids in Britain. There are birds such as willow warbler, yellowhammer, linnet and lesser whitethroat.There is access from Darland Avenue.

Gillingham and Rainham is a constituency in Kent represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since its 2010 creation by Rehman Chishti, a Conservative. It replaced the previous constituency of Gillingham.

The A278 (Hoath Way) is a road running north–south in north Kent, England. The whole length of the road is dual carriageway, within Medway Council but is a non-primary route.

Hempstead is a village near Gillingham, Kent in South East England. Historically a small hamlet, Hempstead grew throughout the 20th century to become part of the urban area of the Medway Towns. Hempstead is located on the southern edge of the Unitary authority of Medway, surrounded by Wigmore and the A278 trunk road (Hoath Way) to the east, Capstone valley to the west and the M2 motorway and the village of Bredhurst to the south. Most of Hempstead is in a valley, with Hempstead Valley Drive running along its length with housing on both sides.

Hollands & Blair Football Club is a football club based in Gillingham, Kent, England. They are currently members of the Southern Counties East League Premier Division and play at the Star Meadow.

South Wood is a 6.6-hectare (16-acre) Local Nature Reserve in Hempstead, south of Gillingham in Kent. It is owned and managed by Medway Council.This wood was formerly used for timber, and it is now managed as a nature reserve. It has a population of dormice, which are rare in Britain and the rest of Europe.There is access from Lamplighters Close.

Fort Darland was a post-mediaeval infantry fort built from 1870 to 1900 as part of the defensive network for Chatham Dockyard. It was demolished in the 1960s and the site used for housing. Some earthworks and encasement remain and are visible on aerial photographs. During the Second World War Fort Darland was a British Army detention centre. The camp was one of twelve military detention centres in England, Scotland, and the Orkney and Shetland Islands. First and second-time offenders were sent to seven of the twelve prisons. Fort Darland drew Parliamentary attention after Rifleman William Clarence Clayton perished while incarcerated; two British Army Warrant Officers were criminally charged after an investigation into Clayton's death. In addition to British Army personnel being incarcerated, members of the Canadian Army were also sentenced to Fort Darland upon conviction of first-time offences, usually sent up by their Commanding officers. Prior to Fort Darland becoming a detention centre it was an Army Technical school for boys, built in 1938 and opened for its first intake. In March 1939 it served as a school for both Royal Engineer and Royal Artillery enlisted boys. In 1940 during the Dunkirk evacuation the school became a transit camp for men returning from France the pupils having been sent home and subsequently to other Army schools. After the war, the fort's tunnels were used as a mushroom farm.

Twydall is a suburb of Gillingham in Kent in south-east England. In 1998 responsibility for local government was transferred from Kent County Council to the newly created Unitary Authority of Medway, The origin of the name Twydall is thought to mean "Two Parts" or "Double Portion" from the Old English twidǣl, but by 1240 it was written Twydele. Two Palmerston forts were built in the area, Grange Redoubt and Woodlands Redoubt: the design used came to be known as the Twydall Profile.

This park is set on 114 hectares (281.694 acres (1,139,980 m2)) of converted farm land, on the North Downs, near Walderslade. It is within the Kent Downs, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Howard School is a boys' secondary school in Rainham, Kent, England, with approximately 1,500 pupils. It offers a partially selective system and is one of only five bi-lateral schools in the United Kingdom. The partially selective system permits admission to the grammar school section by the 11-Plus selection, however a passing mark is not required if the pupil is seen to have the ability to work in the 'grammar stream', and non-selective admission to the high school. The school is a Sports College.

The Robert Napier School, is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Gillingham, Kent, England. The school is a specialist Humanities School, and is non-selective, and does not have grammar school status. It has approximately 1100 students (according to Department for Education figures).The school is a member of Fort Pitt Thomas Aveling Academies.
