Blainville-sur-Orne (French pronunciation: [blɛ̃vil syʁ ɔʁn] , literally Blainville on Orne) is a commune in the Calvados department in the Normandy region in northwestern France.

The Port of Caen (French: Port de Caen) is the harbour and port authority of the Norman city of Caen, France. The port of Caen is composed of a series of basins on the Canal de Caen à la Mer, linking Caen to Ouistreham, 15 km (9.3 m) downstream, on the English Channel.

It is a suburb of the city of Caen, and lies adjacent to it in a northeasterly direction, along the west side of the Canal de Caen à la Mer. Its inhabitants are called Hérouvillais. Just across the canal from Hérouville is a Renault Trucks manufacturing plant, which is situated between the canal and the Orne River. Just east of the river is the town of Colombelles. Hérouville was the commune name until 1957.

The canton of Hérouville-Saint-Clair is an administrative division of the Calvados department, northwestern France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Hérouville-Saint-Clair.

The Château de Bénouville (French pronunciation: [ʃato də benuvil]) is a building in Bénouville, Normandy, near Caen (northern France). It was designed in 1769 by architect Claude Nicolas Ledoux and built in 1770-74 and 1776-80 at the request of Hyppolite-François Sanguin, marquis of Livry (1715–1789) and his marquise Thérèse Bonne Gillain de Bénouville, heiress of the property. The interior was under construction from 1778 to 1780 under the direction of Jean-François-Étienne Gilet, the architect of Caen. In 1792, it was purchased from the widowed marquise by a fermier général (tax collector) who was guillotined in 1794. His daughter inherited the property which remained in that family until 1927. It then became the property of the general council of Calvados which turned it into a maternity hospital (singer Gérard Lenorman was born there). In 1980, it was rehabilitated and restored, opening its doors to the public in 1990. This château is one of the best preserved works of Ledoux, making it a major monument of neoclassical architecture at the end of the eighteenth century. Its monumental staircase and its exterior architecture were very modern for the time.

Mondeville 2 is a shopping centre in Caen, France, and the largest of the Lower Normandy region. It is situated in the suburb of Caen in the town of Mondeville. The shopping centre was built by the Promodès group for its supermarket brand Continent and opened on 27 June 1995, replacing the older Supermonde (also known as Mondeville 1) which opened in 1970. As well as retail facilities the shopping centre was home to the Promodès headquarters. Mondeville 2 has a selling area of 60,000 m², of which 12,000 m² are used by Carrefour. It is home to major French supermarket and stores as well as a UGC Ciné Cité cinema.

Bénouville (French pronunciation: [benuvil] ) is a commune in the Calvados department in the Normandy region in northwestern France. It is located on the Canal de Caen à la Mer close to Caen and Ouistreham.

The Café Gondrée is a small coffeehouse in the French community of Bénouville. The cafe is located on the west bank of the Caen Canal, at the northwest end of the Bénouville Bridge, now commonly referred to as the Pegasus Bridge. The building was the site of first combat during the D-Day invasion, and is best known for its role commemorating those events.
