State Museum and Exhibition Center ROSIZO (Russian: Государственный музейно-выставочный центр «РОСИЗО») is an institution of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. It is a multidisciplinary organization that develops and implements exhibition, cultural and educational projects in Russia and around the world. ROSIZO exhibitions are created both on the basis of their own collections and in the format of inter-museum and interdisciplinary cooperation. ROSIZO has its own collections of painting and sculpture, applied and folk arts, graphics and Soviet posters, as well as a collection of art from the late XX-early XXI centuries. The entire collection of ROSIZO has more than 45,000 items.

Spaso House is a listed Neoclassical Revival building at No. 10 Spasopeskovskaya Square in Moscow. It was originally built in 1913 as the mansion of the textile industrialist Nikolay Vtorov. Since 1933, it has been the residence of the U.S. Ambassador to the Soviet Union, and since 1991, to the Russian Federation. The building belonged to the USSR and later Russia and, under the 1985 lease contract, the U.S. was supposed to pay 72,500 Soviet roubles per year, which by 2001 was the equivalent of about $3, which the U.S. had failed to pay in 1993. In 2004, the two sides concluded a new 49-year lease that was said to be based on a joint assessment of the property's value; the rent rate was not disclosed.

Smolenskaya (Russian: Смоленская) is a station on the Filyovskaya line of the Moscow Metro. It was opened in 1935 as part of the first Metro line. Designed by S.G. Andriyevsky and T.N. Makarychev, the station features grey marble pillars with flared bases and walls faced with white ceramic tile. Smolenskaya originally had two entrance vestibules, but one was demolished with the expansion of the Garden Ring avenue. There are still two sets of exit stairs on the platform, but one leads to a dead end where the passage to the old vestibule (very similar to the one still in use at Chistye Prudy) used to be. There is no direct transfer to Smolenskaya. Instead, there is a direct transfer to Plyushchika planned to the station from the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line.

Smolenskaya Square (Russian: Смоленская площадь) is a square in the center of Moscow. The Garden Ring crosses the square. Arbat street runs towards it and ends near the Foreign Ministry skyscraper, the main building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. The latter faces Smolenskaya square. The name is sometimes used as a metonym for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Russian foreign policy in general.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (MFA Russia; Russian: Министерство иностранных дел Российской Федерации, МИД РФ) is the central government institution charged with leading the foreign policy and foreign relations of Russia. It is a continuation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, which was under the supervision of the Soviet Ministry of External Relations. Sergei Lavrov is the current foreign minister.

The Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO is a governmental coordinating body ensuring cooperation of the Government of the Russian Federation, federal executive bodies, other bodies and organizations, as well as scientists and specialists with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The Commission was established in accordance with the UNESCO Constitution, which implies the establishment of National Commissions in Member States responsible for the involvement of leading educational, scientific and cultural institutions in the activities of the Organization.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia main building is one of seven Stalinist skyscrapers, designed and overseen by Vladimir Gelfreykh and Adolf Minkus.

Smolenskaya (Russian: Смоленская) is a station on the Arbatsko–Pokrovskaya line of the Moscow Metro. It was built in 1953 to replace an older station of the same name, though that one was later reopened as part of the Filyovskaya line. The two stations are not connected. Smolenskaya has square, white marble columns with fluted corners, decorative cornices, and ventilation grilles concealed behind ornamental sconces. At the end of the platform is a bas-relief by G.I. Motovilov entitled "The Defenders of Russia," which depicts soldiers of the Red Army in battle. The architects of the station were Igor Rozhin and G. P. Yakovlev. At 50 m below the surface, Smolenskaya was the deepest station on the line until Park Pobedy opened in 2003. From 22 February 2020 to 9 July 2021, the station was closed for reconstruction due to the replacement of escalators.There is no direct transfer to Smolenskaya planned, but there is an out-of-system transfer to it. A direct transfer to Plyushchika on the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya line is planned.

The Melnikov House (the workshop house of the architect Konstantin Stepanovich Melnikov) is a one-apartment residential house, a landmark building of the Soviet avant-garde. It was built in 1927–1929 in Krivoarbatsky Lane in Moscow by the outstanding Soviet architect Konstantin Melnikov for himself and his family. The Workshop House is considered the pinnacle of Melnikov's work due to its innovative design features, original artistic image, and well-thought-out functional layout. This one-apartment residential mansion, located near the centre of Moscow, is a unique example of this type of construction during the Soviet era. In 2011, the Shchusev Museum of Architecture took over the management of the building, which is now displayed as a part of its branch, the Melnikov Museum, established in 2014. In 2022, the interiors of the house were closed to the public due to restoration. However, visitors can still access the garden and inspect the exterior.

Arbat District (Russian: район Арбат) is a district of Central Administrative Okrug of the federal city of Moscow, Russia. Population: 28,179 (2010 Census); 25,699 (2002 Census).The district extends from central Mokhovaya Street west to Novoarbatsky Bridge over the Moskva River. Its irregular boundaries correspond roughly to Znamenka Street and Sivtsev Vrazhek Lane in the south and Povarskaya Street in the north. Main radial streets are Vozdvizhenka Street, New Arbat Street and pedestrian Arbat Street.

Krivoarbatsky Lane (Russian: Кривоарба́тский переу́лок; from Russian "кривой", krivoy, meaning "curved") is a small sidestreet near the Arbat Street. It is most notable for its curved form and the Wall of Viktor Tsoi, a Russian musician. This street is also notable for some informal youth gatherings.
