Hartford Correctional Center

The Cricket Hall of Fame is an attraction located in Hartford, Connecticut, U.S.A.. Founded in 1980, it is the first international cricket hall of fame in the world. Every year it hosts an induction ceremony on first Saturday of October, drawing inductees from around the world. Inductees are selected for two categories: players of distinction or someone who has done something to advance the sport of cricket. The Cricket Hall of Fame is supported by the Sportsmen's Athletic Club of Hartford, Connecticut. (Since 1963)The Cricket Hall of Fame Museum houses many historical cricket artifacts donated by past inductees and supporters. Items include trophies, uniforms, equipment, books, photographs and articles that demonstrate the history of the sport over time.

The Wilfred X. Johnson House is a historic house at 206 Tower Avenue in Hartford, Connecticut. Built in 1928, it was the home from 1966 until his death the home of Wilfred X. Johnson (1920–1972), the state's first African-American state representative. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

The Hartford circus fire, which occurred on July 6, 1944, in Hartford, Connecticut, was one of the worst fire disasters in United States history. The fire occurred during an afternoon performance of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus that was attended by 6,000 to 8,000 people. The fire killed at least 167 people, and more than 700 were injured. It was the deadliest disaster ever recorded in Connecticut.

Keney Park Golf Course is a public golf course located in Hartford, Connecticut and Windsor, Connecticut within Hartford's Keney Park. The first nine holes were designed by eminent golf course architect Devereux Emmet in 1927, with the remaining nine made by City of Hartford engineer Robert ”Jack” Ross in 1931.

Xfinity Theatre (originally known as the Meadows Music Theatre) is an outdoor/indoor amphitheatre located in Hartford, Connecticut, owned by Live Nation. The capacity of the venue is 30,000. The indoor area holds 7,500 and the outdoor lawn area holds an additional 22,500 during the summer months making it one of the largest amphitheatres in the country. Live Nation predecessor SFX bought the theatre in 1997.

The Hartford–East Hartford railroad bridge is a 5-span truss bridge connecting Hartford and East Hartford, Connecticut, over the Connecticut River. The bridge is 1,240 feet in length and 18.3 feet in width and was built ca. 1873 by the Hartford, Providence and Fishkill Railroad. The bridge is currently owned and maintained by the Connecticut Southern Railroad and carries freight traffic.

Hartford Yard is a classification yard located in Hartford, Connecticut. It was originally built by the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad. The yard was greatly expanded between 1925 and 1926 to alleviate congestion in the railroad's nearby East Hartford Yard, following the company's purchase in 1917 of 12.5 acres of land in Hartford's North End.Since 1996, the yard has been owned by the Connecticut Southern Railroad, which maintains its headquarters there, along with repair and maintenance facilities.A portion of the yard is now occupied by Dunkin' Donuts Park. The park's primary tenant, the Hartford Yard Goats, were named in part to honor the history of railroads in Hartford, and because the park is adjacent to the active portion of Hartford Yard.

The Windsor Avenue Congregational Church is a historic church at 2030 Main Street in Hartford, Connecticut. The brick Romanesque Revival-style church building, completed in 1872, now houses Faith Congregational Church, whose lineage includes the city's oldest African-American congregation, established in 1819. The church is a stop on the Connecticut Freedom Trail and was listed on the United States National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

The Capen-Clark Historic District encompasses a residential neighborhood area in the North End of Hartford, Connecticut. Centered on Capen Street between Main and Enfield Streets, it contains a cross-section of post-Civil War Victorian vernacular housing styles, and shows in its development patterns the ebb and flow of the city's economy between about 1865 and 1910. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Islamic Center of Connecticut is a mosque located in Windsor, Connecticut serving the Muslim community of Hartford County. Its Enfield cemetery is believed to be the only Islamic cemetery in New England that is meant only for Muslims. (However, there have been separate Muslim burial plots associated with other cemeteries previously, including in Worcester, Massachusetts and Biddeford, Maine.)

The Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church (also known as North Methodist Episcopal Church) is a historic Methodist Episcopal Church at 2051 Main Street in Hartford, Connecticut. This High Victorian Gothic structure was built in 1873-74 for an Episcopal congregation, and has since 1926 been the home to the city's oldest African-American congregation, which was established in 1833. The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

The Podunk River is a stream in Hartford County, Connecticut. It is a tributary to the Connecticut River.The stream headwaters arise at 41°51′09″N 72°31′31″W at an elevation of 305 ft (93 m). The stream flows to the southwest and enters the Connecticut River just northwest of East Hartford at 41°47′08″N 72°38′37″W and an elevation of 7 ft (2.1 m).The name is derived from the Algonquin words pod for low and unk for beyond or "the low land beyond" or along the Connecticut and its tributary the Podunk River where they farmed the fertile soil along the streams.
