Church Woods, Blean

Denstroude is a dispersed hamlet located to the west of the A290 road north of Canterbury in Kent, England. It is a collection of houses and farms, one of which takes its name from the hamlet; the other being Parsonage Farm, although there is no church nearby. It stretches between the parishes of Blean and Dunkirk (where the 2011 Census population is included.), in the districts of Canterbury and Swale respectively. Edward Hasted in 1799, only mentions 'Denstroud common'.

Ellenden Wood is a 90.6-hectare (224-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Whitstable in Kent. It is a Nature Conservation Review site, Grade 2. and a Special Area of ConservationThis wood has diverse flora with over 250 species of vascular plants and 300 of fungi. Insects include 3 species which are nationally rare, and there are mammals such as wood mice, dormice and two species of shrew.Several public footpaths cross the site.

Upper Harbledown is a village in Harbledown and Rough Common civil parish about 2 miles (3 km) west of Canterbury, Kent, England. The population is roughly 400.

Honey Hill is a hamlet on the A290 road, near the village of Blean, in the Canterbury district, in the English county of Kent.

The Battle of Bossenden Wood took place on 31 May 1838 near Hernhill in Kent; it has been called the last battle on English soil. The battle was fought between a small group of labourers from the Hernhill, Dunkirk, and Boughton area and a detachment of soldiers sent from Canterbury to arrest the marchers' leader, the self-styled Sir William Courtenay, who was actually John Nichols Tom, a Truro maltster who had spent four years in Kent County Lunatic Asylum. Eleven men died in the brief confrontation: Courtenay, eight of his followers and two of those sent to apprehend them. The background context of the battle was the impact of new Poor Law and it has been linked with the Swing riots.

No Man's Orchard is a 4.1-hectare (10-acre) Local Nature Reserve west of Canterbury in Kent. It is owned by Chartham and Harbledown Parish Councils and managed by the Kentish Stour Countryside Partnership."No man's land" is an area which straddles two areas of ownership, in this case the boundary between the parishes of Chartham and Harbledown. It is one of the few remaining traditional orchards in the Stour Valley.There is access by a footpath from Bigbury Road.

Blean is a village and civil parish in the Canterbury district of Kent, England. The civil parish is large and is mostly woodland, much of which is ancient woodland. The developed village within the parish is scattered along the road between Canterbury and Whitstable, in the middle of the Forest of Blean. The parish of St. Cosmus and St. Damian in the Blean was renamed "Blean" on 1 April 2019.

Bigbury Camp (formerly Bigberry Camp) is a univallate hill fort in the parish of Harbledown and Rough Common in Kent in England. The fort is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, with a list entry identification number of 1005169. Bigbury Camp is the only confirmed Iron Age hill fort in east Kent. It is managed by Kent Wildlife Trust.Bigbury Camp was occupied from about 350 BC and may have been stormed by Roman soldiers of the Legio VII Claudia under the command of Julius Caesar.

Duncan Down is an open, public, area to the south west of Whitstable and is the largest village green in the United Kingdom. It is a 21 hectare (52 acre) area of grass and woodland incorporating four ponds and a brook. The area is maintained by the Friends of Duncan Down with assistance from Canterbury City Council and has received funding from nearby planning development. Originally intended for housing development in the inter-war years it is now protected by its village green status.

South Blean is a 329-hectare (810-acre) nature reserve near Chartham Hatch, west of Canterbury in Kent. It is owned and managed by the Kent Wildlife Trust.This site has native woodland, conifer plantations, heath, and bog. KWT is gradually removing the conifers to allow natural regeneration, and it also manages the site by grazing and coppicing. Birds include nightjars and nightingales.There is access from the track called Primrose Hill.

Yorkletts is a settlement two miles south of Whitstable in Kent in South East England. At the 2011 Census the settlement was included in the Seasalter ward of the City of Canterbury Council, and it is one of the smaller villages in the City of Canterbury.Yorkletts is home to the large Woodland Trust site, Victory Woods, with views over the North Sea.

Foxes Cross Bottom is a 4-hectare (9.9-acre) Local Nature Reserve north-west of Whitstable in Kent. It is owned and managed by Canterbury City Council.This site has diverse habitats of grassland, scrub, broadleaved woodland, ponds, ditches and hedges. The meadows are grazed by ponies and highland cattle.There is public access to the site.
