Asbury Theological Seminary is a Christian Wesleyan seminary in the historical Methodist tradition located in Wilmore, Kentucky. It is the largest seminary of the Wesleyan-Holiness movement. It is known for its advocacy of egalitarianism, giving equal status for men and women in ministerial roles and for ordination. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS).

Asbury University is a private Christian university in Wilmore, Kentucky. Although it is a non-denominational school, the college is aligned with the Wesleyan-Holiness movement. The school offers 50-plus majors across 17 departments. In the fall of 2016, Asbury University had a total enrollment of 1,854: 1,640 traditional undergraduate students and 214 graduate students. The campus of Asbury Theological Seminary, which became a separate institution in 1922, is located across the street from Asbury University.

Wilmore is a home rule-class city in Jessamine County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 5,999 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Lexington–Fayette Metropolitan Statistical Area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.6 square miles (6.7 km2), all of it land.

The Primate Rescue Center is a primate rescue organization founded by Clay Miller and April Truitt in the late 1980s. The PRC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Wilmore, Kentucky, United States, approximately 17 miles south of Lexington, Kentucky. The PRC provides lifetime sanctuary for rescued primates from all over the United States, and is home to over 50 primates, including a troop of 11 common chimpanzees.

The Young House is an historic estate in Jessamine County, Kentucky, United States, between Nicholasville and Wilmore off of Kentucky Route 29 on Lexington Road. Popular legend has it that the house was the birthplace of Bennett H. Young, an American Civil War soldier, lawyer, and architect.

Jessamine () is an unincorporated community located in Jessamine County, Kentucky, United States. Its post office is no longer in service.

The Brick House on Shun Pike, near Nicholasville, Kentucky, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The listing included four contributing buildings on 40 acres (16 ha).The house is a five-bay one-story brick central passage plan house, with an original brick ell and brick end chimneys. The brickwork is Flemish bond. It has high quality Federal-style interior woodwork.It is located off what is now Kentucky Route 1268.

West Jessamine High School is a public high school in Nicholasville, Kentucky. It opened in 1997 along with East Jessamine High School after rapidly growing Jessamine County split its former high school, Jessamine County High, in two. West Jessamine inherited the former Jessamine County High's nickname of Colts.

Crutcher Nature Preserve and Sally Brown Nature Preserve are two adjacent tracts located in Garrard and Jessamine county Kentucky that also serve to protect a large section of the Kentucky River Palisades. They are owned by The Nature Conservancy, a US charitable environmental organization working to preserve the plants, animals, and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth. The preserves are open to the public and share a parking lot. They each feature a loop trail providing views of the gorge.

High Bridge is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Jessamine County, Kentucky, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 242. It lies along the lower reaches of the Kentucky River across from the confluence of the Dix River with the Kentucky. The community is part of the Lexington–Fayette Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Bethel Academy was the first Methodist school established in the United States west of the Appalachian Mountains. Established by Francis Asbury in 1790, the school operated in present-day Jessamine County, Kentucky until 1805.

Troy is an unincorporated community that straddles Woodford County and Jessamine County, Kentucky, United States. It is located at the junction of KY 33 and KY 1267. A post office with the name Troy operated at this location from 1859 to 1909. The town may have been named for the town of the same name in New York. The structures in Troy consist of a cluster of farm outbuildings and a few stately houses lining KY 33. The town is surrounded by rolling pastures and sunny fields.
