Partinico (Sicilian: Partinicu, Ancient Greek: Parthenikòn, Παρθενικόν) is a city/town and comune in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, Sicily, southern Italy. It is 30 kilometres (19 mi) from Palermo and 71 kilometres (44 mi) from Trapani.

Balestrate (Sicilian: Sicciara) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Palermo in the Italian region Sicily, located about 25 kilometres (16 mi) southwest of Palermo. As of 31 July 2015, it had a population of 6,505 and an area of 3.9 square kilometres (1.5 sq mi).

Giardinello (Sicilian: Jardineddu) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Palermo in the Italian region Sicily, located about 20 kilometres (12 mi) west of Palermo. Montelepre (Italian pronunciation: [monteˈleːpre]; Sicilian: Muncilebbri) is a town and comune in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, Sicily, Italy. It is known for having been the native city of Sicilian bandit Salvatore Giuliano, of architect Rosario Candela, as well as the ancestral homeland of the American singer, actor, and congressman Sonny Bono, whose father Santo Bono was born in the town. Montelepre was also the native town of Lino Saputo, founder of the multi billion Canadian firm Saputo, Inc.

Alitalia Flight 112 was a scheduled flight from Leonardo da Vinci Airport, in Rome, Italy, to Palermo International Airport in Palermo, Italy, with 115 on board. On 5 May 1972, it crashed into Mount Longa, about 3 miles (4.8 km) southwest of Palermo while on approach to the airport, killing all 115 passengers and crew onboard. Investigators believe that the crew had 3 miles visibility and did not adhere to the established vectors issued by air traffic control. It remains the deadliest single-aircraft disaster in Italy, and the second-deadliest behind the Linate Airport disaster in 2001. The incident is the worst in Alitalia's history. A memorial has been erected at the site of the crash.

The Diamante Fondo Patti is Palermo, Italy's main baseball stadium. Inaugurated in 1997, it has degraded since due to lack of care, even though the city had announced works to restore it in 2014.

San Cipirello (Sicilian: San Ciupirreddu) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Palermo in the Italian region Sicily, located about 25 kilometres (16 mi) southwest of Palermo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 5,201 and an area of 20.9 square kilometres (8.1 sq mi).San Cipirello borders the following municipalities: Monreale, San Giuseppe Jato.

Carini (Latin: Hyccara or Hyccarum, Ancient Greek: Ὕκαρα and Ὕκαρον) is a city and comune in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, Sicily, 19 kilometres (12 mi) by rail west-northwest of Palermo. It has a population of 37,752.

The Abbey of San Martino delle Scale is a Benedictine monastery and church located in the hills a few kilometers northwest of Monreale, region of Sicily, Italy. Putatively founded in the 7th-century, but destroyed by the Saracens, it was refounded in 1347. Most of the present structures date to the 17th and 18th-centuries, including a large refurbishment by the architect Giuseppe Venanzio Marvuglia. The Abbazia or abbey is located in between Monte Cuccio and Monte Caputo. Putatively founded during the rule of Pope Gregory the Great, a monastery at the site was destroyed by the Saracens. The monastery, dedicated to St Martin of Tours, was reformulated in 1347 with 6 monks from the Monastery of San Nicola near Mount Etna. Among the first monks was the blessed Angelo Sinisio, the first abbott, who helped commission the first monastic buildings. The church was decorated with works by Pietro Novelli, Filippo Paladini, Zoppo di Gangi, Paolo de Matteis, Mattias Stomer and others. The intricately carved wooden choir stalls were completed by the early 18th century. The fontana dell’Oreto and the sculptural depiction of St Martin on horseback were carved by Ignazio Marabitti. Nearly abandoned after the suppression of the orders in 1866, the abbey is still a benedictine monastery.

The sanctuary of Madonna del Ponte is located on the SP 63 (provinciale road 63), in the territory of Partinico (Palermo), 3 or 4 km from the junction of Balestrate of the A29 motorway.

Torretta (Sicilian: Turretta) is a comune in the Metropolitan City of Palermo located on the Mediterranean island of Sicily. This town is situated on a mountainous area overlooking Palermo. Olive production is Torretta's primary agriculture product and other industries include aluminum and marble. Monuments include the Santuario della Madonna delle Grazie of XVII. Churches include the Chiesa del Sacramento and the Chiesa and the Monastero del Collegio di Maria. The town is named Torretta probably due to the presence of a small tower around the latter half of the 17th century. The first inhabited center dates back to 1599 by Baron Arrigo Traina. Later it came under dominion of Giulio Tommaso Caro, prince of Pelagie (Lampedusa and Linosa). It was later ruled by DiBenedetto family who is renowned for the risings of 1860 for the Unity of Italy.The population as of 2004 consists of 3,881 people.

Trappeto (Trappitu in Sicilian) is an Italian municipality of 3,123 inhabitants in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, located in the north-west part of Sicily. It is part of the metropolitan area of Palermo. Trappeto is 45 kilometres (28 mi) from Palermo and about 60 kilometres (37 mi) from Trapani. It is a seaside resort on the coast in the Gulf of Castellammare. The city was founded in the 15th century. Frederick II of Aragon used it as part of his hunting grounds. From this, Trappeto evolved as a fertile agricultural centre. The main sources of income for the town include fishing and tourism. Known as "Trappetum cannamelarum", for the mill of the Sugar cane which was planted here in 1480 by the rich landowner Francis Bologna, who subsequently made a fortune during the 16th century. In early 1600 it was abandoned by its inhabitants, but was later returned to and repopulated at the end of 1700 for cultivating grapes for wine. Stable population took hold in the early 19th century, thanks to houses built around the old Church of the Annunciation. The city is famous for the work of activist, Danilo Dolci, a social and cultural writer who helped bring Trappeto back from depths of poverty and ruin. He established an orphanage in Trappeto. Trappeto is also famous for its beaches, with the most popular being Ciammarita The beach Ciammarita is a spit of sand a few hundred metres long, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It is known to be capricious, and among the windiest places in Italy. It is reachable from Trapani taking exit "Partinico-Trappeto" from State Highway 113. Ciammarita is not far from the town of Trappeto, making walking to the beach a very popular choice for both tourists and residents.
