Salanter Akiba Riverdale Academy, better known by the acronym, SAR Academy, is a coeducational, private Modern Orthodox Jewish day school. The school is located in the Riverdale section of the New York City borough of the Bronx. Its name derives from the three schools which merged to form it, Salanter (named after Rabbi Yisrael Salanter), Akiba, and the Riverdale Academy, all Jewish day schools. The three schools merged in 1968 and adopted the current name. The school is situated on the former estate of the Italian operatic and symphonic conductor Arturo Toscanini. The land for the school was purchased in 1968. The school moved into its new building in 1974. Designed by Caudill Rowlett Scott, the building was given the Albert S. Bard Award in 1975.The school's founding principal was Rabbi Sheldon Chwat, who was followed by former Assistant Principal Rabbi Yonah Fuld, who was then succeeded by then assistant principal Rabbi Joel Cohn, all of whom subsequently moved to Israel; the principal since the 2005–06 academic year has been Rabbi Binyamin Krauss, who is helped by associate principals Alana Rifkin Gelnick, Sharon Richter, Beth Pepper, and Rebecca Ostro Nagata. The school is closely affiliated with SAR High School, which is headed by the former assistant principal of the Academy, Rabbi Naphtali (Tully) Harcsztark. Slightly more than half of the High School's student body is made up of students from the elementary school. SAR requires students to take a dual curriculum, taking both General Studies courses as well as Judaic Studies. General Studies classes include Math, Science, English and Social Studies. The Judaic Studies courses are Hebrew language, Mishnah, Talmud (Gemara) and Bible studies (Tanakh). During the 1991–92 school year, Salanter Akiba Riverdale Academy was recognized with the Blue Ribbon School Award of Excellence by the United States Department of Education, the highest award an American school can receive. The school also fostered a creative arts program that began in 1985, headed by musician and educator, Jonathan Dzik and professional stage/film producer, Jay Michaels.

Robert Colgate House, also known as Stonehurst, is a historic home located in the Hudson Hill section of the Bronx in New York City. It was built about 1860 and is a two-story picturesque Italianate villa built of ashlar Maine granite. It features a low-pitched dormered roof with broad eaves surrounding a flat deck. It was built for Robert Colgate (1812–1885), son of pioneer soap manufacturer William Colgate.Colgate purchased the land in 1860 from Ann Cromwell; it had previously been owned by William G. Ackerman. The Riverdale Presbyterian Church was organized at a meeting held in Colgate's house in 1863.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Wave Hill is a 28-acre (11 ha) estate in the Hudson Hill section of Riverdale in the Bronx, New York City. Wave Hill currently consists of public horticultural gardens and a cultural center, all situated on the slopes overlooking the Hudson River, with expansive views across the river to the New Jersey Palisades. The estate includes two houses and a botanical garden. The oldest part of the main house, Wave Hill House, dates back to 1843; Glyndor House dates from 1927 and contains a multi-room art gallery. Perkins Visitor Center, which was originally a garage, contains a gift shop and an information desk. During the late 19th century and early 20th century, numerous highly notable people resided in Wave Hill, either because they owned it, leased it, or stayed there as guests. In 1960, the estate was given to the City of New York, and Wave Hill is now a cultural center as well as a garden. In addition to visual arts exhibits, paid-ticket concert series take place on some Sunday afternoons in Armor Hall. Wave Hill is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a New York City designated landmark.

The Derfner Judaica Museum is a cultural and educational center that provides exhibitions relating to Jewish history and contemporary Jewish culture. The museum is located in the Jacob Reingold Pavilion on the grounds of The Hebrew Home at Riverdale in the Riverdale neighborhood of the Bronx in New York City.

Henry F. Spaulding Coachman's House is a historic home located at Riverdale, The Bronx in New York, New York. It was built about 1880 and is representative of the Stick-Eastlake style. The main section is a 2+1⁄2-story cottage dwelling with board and batten siding. It features jigsaw ornament, twin chimneys, and a polychromed slate roof.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Hudson Hill, also known as Riverdale Estates, is a neighborhood of Riverdale in the New York City borough of The Bronx, bordered by the Henry Hudson Parkway on the east, the Hudson River on the west, West 246th Street on the south and West 254th Street on the north.

A branch of the Telshe Yeshiva, the Yeshiva of Telshe Alumni is located in the Hudson Hill section of Riverdale, a neighborhood of the Bronx in New York City. It was founded in the early 1980s by Rabbi Avraham Ausband, a grandson of Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Bloch, the Telzer Rav; by Rabbi Yaakov Reisman, a son-in-law of Telzer Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Mordechai Gifter; and by a talmid (Heb: student) of Rabbi Mordechai Gifter, Rabbi Yosef Chaim Libersohn, who came from Argentina for this purpose. The Yeshiva, with an enrollment of approximately two hundred, is currently headed by Harav Ausband Shlita. The Yeshiva building, located at West 249th Street and Independence Avenue, across the street from Wave Hill, formerly housed the Manhattan Hebrew High School until it ceased operations at the end of the 1980–81 school year. The building at 640 West 249th Street was originally constructed around 1929 as a mansion for Anthony Campagna, a prominent real estate developer.

Christ Church Riverdale is a historic Episcopal parish church and related structures at 5040 Henry Hudson Parkway East in Riverdale, Bronx, New York City. The church was founded in 1866 and its building, made from brick and local stone with a simple pierced-wall belfry; the church building was built in 1866 to designs by architect Richard M. Upjohn. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The building underwent exterior restoration in 1991 and 1992, and it was designated as a New York City landmark.Rev. Gustav Cartensen was Rector until 1919. He was the first to permit attendance of black children from a nearby "Negro orphan asylum". He was then invited to take the pulpit at Holyrood Episcopal Church. His "liberal" positions garnered "widespread publicity," according to The New York Times. Members of Christ Church today are drawn to the congregation's vibrant diversity, with people who have come together from many different countries and many faith traditions to form a warm and supportive community. Fr. Andrew G. Butler III is since 2014 the Rector of Christ Church Riverdale, after serving parishes in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

Riverdale Park is a park along the Hudson River in Riverdale, The Bronx, New York City. It is approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) long and one block wide.: overleaf  It averages 9 meters above sea level. It is located along Palisade Avenue and entered at Dodge Lane (247th Street). The northern border is 254th Street and the park extends as far south as 232nd Street. It is adjacent to the grounds of Wave Hill. The main sections of the park, from north to south, are The North Woods, The Fishing Trail, Dodge Lane, The Oak Forest (from which it is divided from the Dodge Lane area by a swath of private land), and the South End.: overleaf 

Vinmont Veteran Park is a 3.5-acre (1.4-hectare) park and playground in the Riverdale section of The Bronx. It includes bathrooms, a playground, a woodland area and the Sid Augarten baseball field. The site was acquired by New York City in 1945 and 1947 and opened as a park in 1951. Originally named the PS 81 Playground after a neighboring public school it was renamed in 1986 in honor of military veterans in the Vinmont neighborhood.

The Conservative Synagogue Adath Israel of Riverdale (CSAIR), founded in 1954, is a Conservative, egalitarian congregation and a member of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. The synagogue is located in the Riverdale, Bronx, neighborhood of New York City. The congregation's spiritual leader is Rabbi Barry Dov Katz, who was appointed to the position in 1998.

On the morning of October 8, 2000, the eve of Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish year, two Molotov cocktails were thrown, but did not ignite, at the door of the Conservative Synagogue Adath Israel of Riverdale (CSAIR) in the Bronx in New York City. Two Palestinian men were arrested and found guilty for the attack, and were the first suspects to be prosecuted under recently-enacted New York's Hate Crimes Act of 2000. Mazin Assi was found guilty on seven counts of weapons possession, harassment and attempted arson, along with hate crimes violations and received 15 years in prison. The getaway driver Mohammed Alfaqih was found guilty on one count of criminal mischief and sentenced to four years in prison.
