Lakeside Beach State Park is a 744-acre (3.01 km2) state park located on the shore of Lake Ontario in the Town of Carlton, Orleans County, New York.

Oak Orchard State Marine Park is an 81-acre (0.33 km2) state park located at the mouth of Oak Orchard Creek at Lake Ontario in the Town of Carlton in Orleans County, New York, United States. The park can be accessed from NY Route 18 and the Lake Ontario State Parkway. The park is a few miles east of Lakeside Beach State Park. The park offers picnic tables, a boat launch, and fishing.

Kuckville is a hamlet in the town of Carlton in Orleans County, New York, United States. It is named after Rev. George Kuck, an immigrant from Toronto, Ontario, Canada who settled in near the shore of Lake Ontario in 1815. Kuck established the first grocery store, north of the Ridge Road in Orleans County in 1816 and was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church.

Oak Orchard Light was a lighthouse that operated on the shores of Lake Ontario, in New York, United States, at Point Breeze from 1871 to 1916. In 2010 a local community group built a historically accurate replica of the lighthouse near the original site on the east side of Oak Orchard Creek. Originally it had been built at the end of a long wooden pier on the west side.

Oak Orchard Creek (sometimes called Oak Orchard River) is a tributary of Lake Ontario in Orleans County, New York in the United States.The creek flows through Oak Orchard Creek Marsh, 600 acres (2.4 km2) of which were declared a National Natural Landmark in May 1973. The marshlands through which Oak Orchard Creek flows are a major stopover points for migratory birds, and are protected by state- and federally-designated conservation areas.

Beardsley Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of New York. It is a tributary to Marsh Creek. Beardsley Creek was named after Levi Beardsley, who settled the area in the 1820s.

Sawyer is a hamlet in the town of Carlton, Orleans County, New York, United States. It is named after John G. Sawyer, a congressman from New York. The settlement was previously named "Curtis's Corners" after John Curtis, a native of New Hampshire, who settled on lot 1, section 5 at Carlton in Orleans County. In 1894 the hamlet contained a store, post office, and blacksmith shop.

Gaines is a town in Orleans County, New York, United States. The population was 3,378 at the 2010 census. The town is named after General Edmund P. Gaines, who defended the area during the War of 1812. The Town of Gaines is in the north-central part of the county and contains part of the Village of Albion, the county seat.
