Waterport is a hamlet in Orleans County, New York, United States. The community is located along Oak Orchard Creek and New York State Route 279, 5.7 miles (9.2 km) north-northwest of Albion. Waterport has a post office with ZIP code 14571.

Kuckville is a hamlet in the town of Carlton in Orleans County, New York, United States. It is named after Rev. George Kuck, an immigrant from Toronto, Ontario, Canada who settled in near the shore of Lake Ontario in 1815. Kuck established the first grocery store, north of the Ridge Road in Orleans County in 1816 and was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church.

The county received its name at the insistence of Nehemiah Ingersoll though historians are unsure how the name was selected. The two competing theories are that it was named to honor the French Royal House of Orleans or that it was to honor Andrew Jackson's victory in New Orleans.Located on the south shore of Lake Ontario, Orleans County since the late 20th century has been considered part of the Buffalo, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Gaines, who defended the area during the War of 1812. The Town of Gaines is in the north-central part of the county and contains part of the Village of Albion, the county seat. The current supervisor of Gaines is Tyler James Allport.

Oak Orchard State Marine Park is an 81-acre (0.33 km2) state park located at the mouth of Oak Orchard Creek at Lake Ontario in the Town of Carlton in Orleans County, New York, United States. The park can be accessed from NY Route 18 and the Lake Ontario State Parkway. The park is a few miles east of Lakeside Beach State Park. The park offers picnic tables, a boat launch, and fishing.

Childs is a hamlet in the town of Gaines in Orleans County, New York, United States. It is named after Judge Henry Childs and was previously known as "Proctor's Corners" and "Fair Haven." Childs is the location of the Cobblestone Historic District that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1993.

Oak Orchard Light was a lighthouse that operated on the shores of Lake Ontario, in New York, United States, at Point Breeze from 1871 to 1916. In 2010 a local community group built a historically accurate replica of the lighthouse near the original site on the east side of Oak Orchard Creek. Originally it had been built at the end of a long wooden pier on the west side.

Oak Orchard Creek (sometimes called Oak Orchard River) is a tributary of Lake Ontario in Orleans County, New York in the United States.The creek flows through Oak Orchard Creek Marsh, 600 acres (2.4 km2) of which were declared a National Natural Landmark in May 1973. The marshlands through which Oak Orchard Creek flows are a major stopover points for migratory birds, and are protected by state- and federally-designated conservation areas.
