The Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan (Tajik: Академияи Вазорати корҳои дохилии Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистон) is a higher military institution in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan which serves to train future soldiers and officers of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan. The academic year runs from September to July, with the tuition at the school is US$400–800 per student depending on their department.It was founded in 2000 as a result of the renovation of the MVD Higher School of Mechanical Engineering, which was founded in 1991 on the basis of a department of higher education of the USSR based in Tashkent in the USSR. At the time of its founding, it was one of the first MVD academies in Tajikistan and Central Asia.

Tajik National University (Russian: Таджикский национальный университет; Tajik: Донишгоҳи Миллии Тоҷикистон, romanized: Donishgohi Millii Tojikiston) is the first and largest university in Tajikistan. It enrolls 23,000 students per year in 18 different academic disciplines. The head office of the university is located in the capital city of Tajikistan. Tajik National University prepares extensive human resources for the economy of Tajikistan, from journalists to finance professionals and managers. President Emomali Rahmon and the former chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Murodali Alimardon are alumni.

Victory Park (Tajik: Боғи Ғалаба, romanized: Boği Ğalaba; Russian: Парк Победы) is a park in honor of the Great Patriotic War located in the mountainous part of Dushanbe in Tajikistan. The park was completed in 1985.

Ayni Opera and Ballet Theatre, formerly known as the Tajik Musical Theatre, is a historic building and musical theatre in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The building was named after Tajik poet Sadriddin Ayni.

Russian-Tajik Slavonic University (RTSU), also known as Russian-Tajik University (Russian: Российско-Таджикский Университет), is a university in Tajikistan located in Dushanbe. University was result of cooperation of Russian and Tajik governments. The majority of the students come from Russian families living in Tajikistan and the others are from Tajik and Uzbek families. The university is a member of the Euroasian Universities Association (EUA). Besides being Russian-Tajik the university has students in many nationalities including Armenian, Georgian, Ukrainian and others from Post-Soviet states.

Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan incorporates 20 research institutes and three territorial groupings: the Pamir Branch in the eastern part of the country (with 2 institutes), the Khujand Scientific Center in the north, and the Khatlon Scientific Center in the south-west. The Academy is organized in three thematic divisions: physico-mathematical, chemical, and geological sciences; biological and medical sciences; humanities and social sciences. The incumbent president is Academician M.I. Ilolov, elected in 2005. Originally a part of the Soviet Academy of Sciences, the Tajik Academy of Sciences was established in 1951 as the Academy of Sciences of Tajik SSR, designated the highest scientific body in Tajik SSR and since 1991 in the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Gurminj Museum of Musical Instruments (Russian: Музей музыкальных инструментов имени Гурминджа Завкибекова; Tajik: Осорхонаи асбобҳои мусиқии ба номи Гурминҷ Завқибеков) ( or Gurminj Museum (Russian: Музей Гурминджа)) is a museum located in the center of Dushanbe, Tajikistan, behind the Office of the Mayor on Bokhtar Street.

The National Library of Tajikistan (NLT; Tajik: Китобхонаи миллии Тоҷикистон, КМТ; Russian: Национальная библиотека Таджикистана) located in Dushanbe, Tajikistan is the main library of the country, specializing in preserving cultural heritage of the peoples of the Republic of Tajikistan. While the original library state library in Dushanbe was founded in 1933 and named after Persian author Ferdowsi, the new national library building opened in March, 2012 alongside its new official name. The new nine-story building features 15 reading halls as well as over 20 departments. Access to the library is free to any Tajik citizen with a Passport.

The Iranian ambassador in Dushanbe is the official representative of the Government in Tehran to the Government of Tajikistan.

The Assembly of Representatives (Russian: Пала́та представи́телей Вы́сшего собра́ния Респу́блики Таджикиста́н; Tajik: Маҷлиси намояндагон) is the lower house of the bicameral Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan. The People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan has been the dominant party in the legislature since 2000.

The Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan (Tajik: Маҷлиси Олии Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистон, Russian: Высшее собрание (Маджлиси Оли) Республики Таджикистан), also known simply as the Majlisi Oli, is the parliament of Tajikistan.
