Haverfordwest Castle (electoral ward)

Haverfordwest ( HAV-ər-fərd-WEST, locally HAR-fərd-west; Welsh: Hwlffordd [ˈhʊlfɔrð]) is the county town of Pembrokeshire, Wales, and the most populous urban area in Pembrokeshire with a population of 14,596 in 2011. It is also a community, being the second most populous community in the county, with 12,042 people, after Milford Haven. The suburbs include the former parish of Prendergast, Albert Town and the residential and industrial areas of Withybush (housing, retail parks, hospital, airport and showground). Haverfordwest is located in a strategic position, being at the lowest bridging point of the Western Cleddau prior to the opening of the Cleddau Bridge in 1975.

The Shire Hall (Welsh: Neuadd y Sir Hwlffordd) is a municipal structure in the High Street, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales. The shire hall, which was the meeting place of the old Pembrokeshire County Council, is a Grade II* listed building.

St Mary's Church is an Anglican church in the centre of Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales, prominently visible at the top of the town's High Street. The church dates from the 12th century and is a Grade I listed building

Haverfordwest Museum is a local history and heritage museum in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire. Collections include local and social history, the history of the castle, and a selection of local art. The museum is housed in the former governor's house, a Grade II listed building, said to date from 1779 inside Haverfordwest Castle and facing the former town prison. In 2012 Pembrokeshire County Council decided to sell the current site for use commercially, and relocate the museum to another site. The site has not been sold and the museum is still open. In November 2023 the roof of the museum was damaged by lead thieves.

Pembrokeshire Record Office, or Pembrokeshire Archives, is a county record office and archive repository located within the town of Haverfordwest in south-west Wales. Although preliminary surveys of the Pembrokeshire county records had been carried out by Major Francis Jones as far back as the 1930s, the initial county archivist at Haverfordwest was appointed only in 1963. The office was first established in the town in 1967, within the former county gaol. It is recognised by the Lord Chancellor for holding official public records and it acts as the diocesan record office for the surrounding portion of St David's diocese.Besides keeping local authority and quarter sessions records, together with many Pembrokeshire parish registers, other significant holdings include family and estate papers relating to John Mirehouse of Angle, Carew of Carew Court and Lort-Phillips of Lawrenny.Proposals to move to new premises within the town were officially reported in Autumn 2010. The office finally moved to a purpose-designed building in March 2013. This is on the site of the former Pendergast Junior School, with the local studies library also transferring to the new location.

The County Hall (Welsh: Neuadd y Sir) is a municipal building on Freemens Way in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales. It was built in 1999 and serves as the offices and meeting place of Pembrokeshire County Council.

Haverfordwest Rural District was a rural district in the administrative county of Pembrokeshire, Wales from 1894 to 1974, covering an area in the west of the county. It surrounded, but did not include, the town of Haverfordwest after which it was named.

The County of Pembroke War Memorial (Welsh: Cofeb Ryfel Sir Benfro) is a county war memorial in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It was erected in 1921 in Pembrokeshire's county town, Haverfordwest, to commemorate the county's fallen of World War I. It is a Grade II listed structure.

Haverfordwest Priory (Welsh: Priordy Hwlffordd) was a house of Augustinian Canons Regular on the banks of the Western Cleddau at Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales. Dedicated to St. Mary and St. Thomas the Martyr and situated on land given by Robert fitz-Richard, castellan of Haverford Castle and second cousin of Gerald of Wales. The priory was first mentioned around 1200. According to William Latham Bevan, “It owned the three churches in Haverfordwest, Haroldston St. Issell's, adjacent to it, Llanstadwell, Dale, Lambston, Camrose, Llanwynio, St. Ishmael's (Milford Haven), Reynalton, and a chapel now extinct named Cristiswell, probably situated at Cresswell Quay, near Cresselly.At the time of Henry VIII’s Dissolution of the Monasteries (1536–1541), it was acquired by Roger and Thomas Barlow, brothers of William Barlow, bishop of St David's.From 1983 to 1996, the site (now under control of Cadw) was excavated and the outlines of the buildings are visible. Much architectural material of a high standard was discovered and can be seen in Haverfordwest museum. Also unearthed was a unique medieval garden with raised beds. The gardens are listed at Grade I on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.In February 2022, archaeologists began to excavate Haverfordwest Priory, and a gravesite containing 240 burials at the location of a former department store was identified.

Haverfordwest power station supplied electricity to the town of Haverfordwest, Wales and the surrounding area from 1931 to the late 1960s. It was initially owned and operated by the West Cambrian Power Company Limited, then by the British Electricity Authority following nationalisation in 1948. It comprised diesel engines driving electricity alternators.

Haverfordwest Priory is the name of an electoral ward in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It covers the southern edge of the town of Haverfordwest, mostly west of the river but including Haverfordwest railway station at its eastern extreme, the Haverfordwest Priory from which it takes its name and the residential areas bounded by Freeman's Way and surrounding the Pembrokeshire College campus. The ward elects a councillor to Pembrokeshire County Council. Priory ward also elects four community councillors to Haverfordwest Town Council.According to the 2011 UK Census the population of the ward was 2,496 (with 1,971 of voting age).

Bridge Meadow Stadium, also known as the Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a multi-purpose stadium in Haverfordwest, Wales. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Haverfordwest County A.F.C. The stadium holds 2,467 people.
