Como West Public School is a comprehensive public primary (K–6) school located in the Sydney suburb of Como West, New South Wales, Australia. As of 2007, it had an enrolment of 290 students. Now it is suspected to have more than 320 students. Typically, graduating students from Como West move on to The Jannali High School. Como West is said to have a great community atmosphere where children love to learn.

Henry Lawson Park celebrates the name of that great Australian poet.

Green Point Observatory is a private observatory in Oyster Bay, Sydney, Australia, and is the home of the Sutherland Astronomical Society. It is located at the corner of Green Point and Caravan Head Roads. It consists of a dome, library, 41 centimetres (16 in) Newtonian telescope, a meeting hall seating 100 people, and a roll-off roof observatory with a 35 centimetres (14 in) Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope. The observatory is used by members of the society for observing stars and eclipses, research, astro imaging as well as hosting public education courses and monthly open nights. The observatory was first constructed on the site, completed in 1969 following the founding of the Sutherland Astronomical Society, then known as the James Cook Astronomers Club. At that time, the observatory consisted of a dome housing a 41 centimetres (16 in) Newtonian telescope and small library. In 1974, a foyer and meeting hall accommodating 50 people was added. In 1997, a roll-off roof observatory and storeroom was added adjacent to the existing observatory. Soon afterwards, a C14 14 inches (36 cm) Schmidt Cassegrain telescope was added, along with CCD imaging equipment. The observatory was closed for much of 2007 as further additions were made. The two buildings were joined into one, the meeting hall was extended to seat 100 people, and a unisex toilet and library annexe were added. The observatory hosts annual public star parties, an annual astronomy course, group bookings for school/scout/community groups as well as excellent facilities for the members of the Sutherland Astronomical Society to meet, image and conduct research.

The Woronora River is a perennial river of the Sydney Basin, located in the Sutherland Shire local government area of Greater Metropolitan Sydney, approximately 22 kilometres (14 mi) south of the Sydney central business district, in New South Wales, Australia. 'Woronora' is an Aboriginal place name. Records show the spelling of the name has varied since it first appeared in the 19th century, the earliest being Wooloonora (Dixon, 1827, quoted in Walker 1974:66, followed by Wolonora (Dixon, 1837, and Woronora Mitchell, 1835). The name was first applied to the Woronora River, a tributary of the Georges River, before being given to an electoral district, a local road east of the river, and finally the suburb itself. The Woronora River rises on the northwestern slopes of the Illawarra escarpment and has its origin from Waratah Rivulet, near Darkes Forest, and flows generally north for approximately 36 kilometres (22 mi), joined by three minor tributaries, before reaching its confluence with the Georges River, between Como and Illawong.

The Old Como railway bridge is a heritage-listed former railway bridge and now footbridge and water main carrier over the Georges River between Como and Oatley in the Sutherland Shire Council and Georges River Council local government areas of New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by John Whitton and Dept of Railways and built from 1883 to 1885 by C. and E. Millar. The property is owned by Sydney Water, an agency of the Government of New South Wales. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 15 November 2002.

Its postcode is 2226, which it shares with neighbouring Jannali and Como. Bonnet Bay is located on the eastern bank of the Woronora River, which flows north into the Georges River. The suburb draws its name from the adjacent bay of the same name. Its terrain consists of Sydney sandstone with steep gullies, creeks, escarpments and one sandstone plateau.In terms of crime rates, Bonnet Bay has been ranked to be among the top ten safest suburbs in Sydney.
