At the 2010 U.S. census it had a population of 3,030; at the 2019 American Community Survey, it had an estimated population of 2,299. Milton is part of the Lafayette metropolitan statistical area.

KYMK airs an alternative rock music format branded as "106.3 Radio Lafayette." Pittman flipped 106.3 to urban contemporary (as "The Juice 106.3") in 2009. Before that, they flipped to Hot AC from Jones Radio Networks' Smooth Jazz format on Friday, March 28, 2008. On March 31, the station officially switched calls from KKSJ to KYMK. As a smooth jazz-formatted station, KKSJ was branded as "Smooth Jazz 106". KYMK's studios are located on Evangeline Thruway in Carencro, and its transmitter is located southwest of Maurice in rural Vermilion Parish, Louisiana.

Ridge is an unincorporated community in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, United States. "Foreman Flats" was the original name of the area, which included Ridge Road in the north, Doc Duhon Road in the south, Lagneaux Road in the east, and South Fieldspan Road in the west. However, the Ridge area is known as residing between W. Congress Street, S. Richfield highway, Riceland Road and Sellers Road in Lafayette Parish. The community is located near the intersection of LA Hwy 343 and LA Hwy 342. The first settler was Edward G. F. Broussard in 1858 when he purchased 160 acres (0.65 km2). Other original settlers of the area came from Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.

Acadiana Mall (French: Centre commercial de l’Acadiana) is an enclosed regional shopping mall in the city of Lafayette, Louisiana, located at the intersection of Johnston Street (U.S. Route 167) and Ambassador Caffery Parkway (Louisiana Highway 3073). It opened in 1979 and was developed by Robert B. Aikens & Associates, but is now owned by Namdar Realty Group. Currently, Acadiana Mall houses three department store anchors (Dillard's, JCPenney and Macy's). In 2015, Sears Holdings spun off 235 of its properties, including the Sears at Acadiana Mall, into Seritage Growth Properties. Sears closed in September 2017 leaving its site vacant. On June 4, 2020, it was announced that JCPenney would be closing as part of a plan to close 154 stores nationwide. However this store was removed from the closing list on July 13, 2020.JCPenney built in 1990 on the site of a closed Selber Brothers, while Dillard's was formerly D. H. Holmes. The Macy's store opened as Goudchaux's/Maison Blanche, and was sold to Parisian in 1998. Parisian became Foley's in 2001 before converting again to Macy's in 2006. The mall received a minor facelift in the early 1990s and a major renovation in 2004, bringing in a more contemporary look. On February 21, 2013, the mall changed its name back to Acadiana Mall.

Crawfish ponds replace rice fields from February to June. Meaux Elementary School is located at the intersection of LA 343 and LA 696.

Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center is a hospital located in Lafayette, Louisiana in the United States. It is one of several medical facilities established in the state during the early 20th century by the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady, a Roman Catholic religious order based in Calais, France. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, which is the largest locally owned, not-for-profit health system in Louisiana.
