Rees Gabriel House

The Veneman's Bungalow Court Historic District, also known as Droukas Court, is located in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. It is the only example of a Post World War I “California bungalow court” in the city. The district has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2000. It is part of The Bungalow and Square House Des Moines Residential Growth And Development, 1900-1942 MPS.

The Des Moines Bus Station is an intercity bus station in the River Bend neighborhood of Des Moines, Iowa. The station, managed by Burlington Trailways, also serves Jefferson Lines. The current building was opened as a bus terminal in 2013.Des Moines has seen intercity bus transit since at least the early 1920s, when a union bus terminal operated on Sixth Avenue. In 1932, a new Union Bus Depot opened on Grand Avenue, while Burlington Bus Lines opened their own terminal in 1935 on Mulberry Street. The Burlington station was replaced in 1956 with a location on Locust Street. In 1972, a Greyhound Lines bus terminal opened on Keosauqua Way, which would be replaced by the current bus station on Second Avenue, which opened December 30, 2013.

The Home of Marshall's Horseradish, also known as the Marshall House, Stish House, and Marshall's Horseradish Farm, is a historic building located in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. The historic designation is made up of three resources: the two-story frame Queen Anne house, the garage, and the remains of the root cellar. They call attention to food processing for local consumption during the late 19th and early 20th-centuries. Marshall's is said to have been established as a business in 1872, and they cultivated, manufactured, and marketed horseradish condiments. The single-family house was completed in 1886. The property includes four residential lots and at one time was also the location of a small manufacturing facility (nonextant). At one time the family owned 160 acres (65 ha) around 2nd Place. While it is possible that some of that land was used to grow the horseradish, the exact location of their fields is not known for sure and the four residential lots are not large enough. The business came to an end in 1941, and the family sold the property to the city of Des Moines who built a greenhouse on the property. George Daysons, the city florist, and his wife lived in the house. The house, garage, and root cellar were listed together on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Grand View University is a private liberal arts university in Des Moines, Iowa. Founded in 1896 and affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the university enrolls approximately 2,000 students and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

The William B. Hayes House is a historic building located in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. The house is significant for its being one of the best examples in Des Moines of the Swiss chalet style subtype of the Stick Style. It was built in 1886 as a single-family dwelling by local developer Lowry W. Goode. This 1½-story frame structure on a brick foundation features a gable-end facade that is intersected by side gables, and wide eaves that are supported by wood braces. The northern side gable extends over an enclosed front porch. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

The Humphrey Center, also known as Old Main, is an historic building located on the campus of Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden (known as the Des Moines Botanical Center until 2013) is a 17-acre (7-hectare) botanical garden located near downtown Des Moines, Iowa, United States, on the east bank of the Des Moines River and north of I-235.

KGVC-LP (94.1 FM, "Flashback 94") was a radio station licensed to Des Moines, Iowa, United States, and serves the Grand View University area. The station was owned by Grand View University. Prior to its 2007 launch, Grand View College students broadcast by leasing time over KDPS (88.1 FM).The university surrendered KGVC-LP's license to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on March 13, 2015; the FCC cancelled the license the same day. KGVC-LP's leaving the air allowed KDRA-LP to go full-time on 94.1 FM; KDRA-LP itself shut down in 2019.

The Oaklands Historic District is located in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. It was a late 19th-century residential area for upper and upper middle class residents of what was then a suburb of North Des Moines. It was also the first naturalistic suburban subdivision in the Des Moines area. The district has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1996. It is part of the Towards a Greater Des Moines MPS.

North High School, usually referred to simply as North, is a public secondary school located in Des Moines, Iowa. It is one of five secondary schools under the district of the Des Moines Public Schools. The school's mascot is a polar bear and the school competes in the Central Iowa Metro League conference.
