Ekel (Norden)

Norden (East Frisian Low Saxon: Nörden) is a town in the district of Aurich, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated near the North Sea shore, in East Frisia.

Norden is a railway station located in Norden in East Frisia, Lower Saxony, Germany. It is a junction station situated on the Emsland Railway line (Rheine - Norddeich), with train services provided by Deutsche Bahn, and the historic Ostfriesische Küstenbahn (lit. 'East Frisian Coastal Railway'). The latter is operated by a heritage train on Sundays from June to October.

Bargebur is an urban quarter in the east of the borough of Norden, northwestern Germany, and has a population of around 500 (as at 12/2016), who inhabit an area of just 0.65 km². The houses of Bargebur have been entirely absorbed within the built-up area of Norden. In the south of the quarter, separated by the B72, which acts as a ring road around Norden here, is the Tidofelder Holz, a forest in the neighbouring municipality of Lütetsburg. Along the Fehn Canal runs the so-called Verschönerungsweg. On old maps Bargebur is also called Bergum or Westekelbur.

The organ of St. Ludgeri in Norden was built from 1686 to 1692 by Arp Schnitger. It has 46 stops, five divisions, three manuals and pedal, and is thus the second-largest surviving Schnitger organ in Germany (after that of the St. James' Church, Hamburg) and until 2018 the largest organ in East Frisia. Historically and musically it is considered an art-work of international rank.

Süderneuland I is a district (Stadtteil) of the East Frisian city of Norden, in Lower Saxony. It is located directly to the south of the city, and is the city's most populous and second largest district, after the city center. The area of the current district was incorporated into Norden during the Lower Saxony municipal reform in 1972; until then it was an independent municipality. With the Leegemoor industrial and commercial area, Süderneuland I has by far the largest and most important commercial area in Norden. The Norden train station is also located in the district. Süderneuland II is located to the southeast of Süderneuland I.

Tidofeld has been an autonomous part of the East Frisian borough of Norden since 1996 and has around 1,000 inhabitants (as at 12/2016)), spread over an area of just 0.47 km². Its built-up area is completely integrated with the town itself. Until 1952, Tidofeld was part of the municipality of Lütetsburg.

Lütetsburg (East Frisian Low Saxon: Lütsbörg) is a municipality in the district of Aurich, in Lower Saxony, Germany.

Süderneuland II is a district (Stadtteil) of the East Frisian city of Norden, in Lower Saxony. It is located to the southeast of Norden's city center. The area of today's district was incorporated into Norden during the Lower Saxony municipal reform in 1972. Until then, Süderneuland II was an independent municipality. Süderneuland I is located to the northwest of Süderneuland II.

Norden-Norddeich Airfield (German: Flugplatz Norden-Norddeich, IATA: NOE, ICAO: EDWS) is an airfield near the northwestern Norden borough of Norddeich in Lower Saxony, Germany. The airport serves regular flights to airports on the islands of Norderney and Juist. It is also home to a flying club, which operates two aircraft from a hangar on the airfield's east side.

Halbemond is a municipality in the district of Aurich, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is home to the Motodrom Halbemond, one of Europe's largest speedway stadiums.
