The Joseph Jackson House, also known as the Colonel Joseph Jackson House, is a historic Dutch Colonial building located at 82 East Main Street in the borough of Rockaway in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. It was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) in 1938 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 4, 1975, for its significance in industry. The house is now the Rockaway Borough Public Library.

Rockaway is a borough in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 6,438, reflecting a decline of 35 (-0.5%) from the 6,473 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 230 (+3.7%) from the 6,243 counted in the 1990 Census.Rockaway was formed as a borough on June 19, 1894, from portions of Rockaway Township, based on the results of a referendum held the previous day. Additional portions of Rockaway Township were annexed by the borough in 1908.The borough shares its name with the Rockaway River and the neighboring township. The name is derived from a Native American term, variously said to mean "place of sands", "creek between two hills" or "bushy" / "difficult to cross".

The school is located in Denville but has a Rockaway mailing address. The other high school in the district is Morris Hills High School. As of the 2020–21 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,408 students and 133.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.5:1. There were 109 students (7.7% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 30 (2.1% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.As a part of the Morris Hills Regional School District's (MHRD) magnet program, Morris Knolls was approved as an International Baccalaureate (IB) world school. It was founded in 1957 and is part of the Diocese of Paterson. Morris Catholic High School has been recognized by the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program, the highest award an American school can receive.As of the 2017–18 school year, the school had an enrollment of 422 students and 34.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.2:1. The school's student body was 80.3% (339) White, 8.3% (35) Asian, 6.6% (28) Hispanic and 4.5% (19) Black.The school has been accredited by AdvancED.

Morris Hills High School is a comprehensive regional four-year public high school located in the borough of Rockaway, in Morris County, New Jersey, United States, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as one of the two secondary schools of the Morris Hills Regional High School District. The school is located on the 39-acre (16 ha) former Gunther Estate and opened to students on September 9, 1953. The high school serves students from Wharton, Rockaway Borough and parts of Rockaway Township. Students come to Morris Hills from Copeland Middle School, Alfred C. MacKinnon Middle School, Thomas Jefferson Middle School, as well as local private schools. As of the 2019–20 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,258 students and 116.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.8:1. Indian Lake is a reservoir and unincorporated community situated 509 feet (155 m) above sea level in Denville Township, New Jersey. Snake Hill rises 780 feet (238 m) to its west and Chestnut Hill rises 640 feet (195 m) to its east.

Denville Township is a township in Morris County, New Jersey, located 35 miles (56 km) west of Manhattan. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 16,635, reflecting an increase of 811 (+5.1%) from the 15,824 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 2,012 (+14.6%) from the 13,812 counted in the 1990 Census.Well known as the "Hub of Morris County" for its strategic location along major transportation routes at the center of the county. The Academy for Mathematics, Science, and Engineering is a four-year magnet public high school program intended to prepare students for STEM careers. Housed on the campus of Morris Hills High School in Rockaway in Morris County, New Jersey, United States, it is a joint endeavor between the Morris County School of Technology and the Morris Hills Regional District. It is one of twelve vocational academies under the Morris County Vocational School District.Organizations involved with the Academy include New Jersey Institute of Technology, County College of Morris, The Research & Development Council of New Jersey, Verizon, and the Morris / Sussex / Warren Workforce Investment Board. Admission to the Academy is extremely competitive; prior to 2017, 26 students were admitted to each class. However, starting with the class of 2021, the class size was increased to 48 students. As of the 2020–21 school year, the school had an enrollment of 182 students.The district and its schools are accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools.

Estling Lake is a lake in Denville Township, New Jersey with a small private summer community of approximately 60 houses and is owned by the Estling Lake Corporation. The lake is fed by Den Brook and drains over a dam into Indian Lake. New Jersey Transit's Montclair-Boonton Line runs along the north shore of the lake. The lake's residents participate in a variety of sporting events with other nearby lakes such as Parsippany, White Meadow, Rainbow, Arrowhead, Mountain, Indian, Intervalve, Telemark, Rock Ridge, Lake Valhalla, and Cedar known as the "Hub Lakes." An ice house existed on the lake until it was destroyed in the early twentieth century.

White Meadow Lake is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Rockaway Township, in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 8,836.
