Academy for Mathematics, Science, and Engineering
The Academy for Mathematics, Science, and Engineering is a four-year magnet public high school program intended to prepare students for STEM careers. Housed on the campus of Morris Hills High School in Rockaway in Morris County, New Jersey, United States, it is a joint endeavor between the Morris County School of Technology and the Morris Hills Regional District. It is one of twelve vocational academies under the Morris County Vocational School District.Organizations involved with the Academy include New Jersey Institute of Technology, County College of Morris, The Research & Development Council of New Jersey, Verizon, and the Morris / Sussex / Warren Workforce Investment Board. Admission to the Academy is extremely competitive; prior to 2017, 26 students were admitted to each class. However, starting with the class of 2021, the class size was increased to 48 students. As of the 2020–21 school year, the school had an enrollment of 182 students.The district and its schools are accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools.
