Morris Hills High School

The Academy for Mathematics, Science, and Engineering is a four-year magnet public high school program intended to prepare students for STEM careers. Housed on the campus of Morris Hills High School in Rockaway in Morris County, New Jersey, United States, it is a joint endeavor between the Morris County School of Technology and the Morris Hills Regional District. It is one of twelve vocational academies under the Morris County Vocational School District.Organizations involved with the Academy include New Jersey Institute of Technology, County College of Morris, The Research & Development Council of New Jersey, Verizon, and the Morris / Sussex / Warren Workforce Investment Board. Admission to the Academy is extremely competitive; prior to 2017, 26 students were admitted to each class. However, starting with the class of 2021, the class size was increased to 48 students. As of the 2020–21 school year, the school had an enrollment of 182 students.The district and its schools are accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools.

Rockaway is a borough in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 6,438, reflecting a decline of 35 (-0.5%) from the 6,473 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 230 (+3.7%) from the 6,243 counted in the 1990 Census.Rockaway was formed as a borough on June 19, 1894, from portions of Rockaway Township, based on the results of a referendum held the previous day. Additional portions of Rockaway Township were annexed by the borough in 1908.The borough shares its name with the Rockaway River and the neighboring township. The name is derived from a Native American term, variously said to mean "place of sands", "creek between two hills" or "bushy" / "difficult to cross".

Germania Park or the "Deutscher Schul- und Gesangverein (DSGV)", the German School and Singing Society, is a German-American cultural club that was established in 1895. The purpose of the club is to foster, promote and perpetuate German language, German song, culture, customs and traditions. Germania Park is located in Rockaway Township, New Jersey. The park hosts "Oktoberfest" events in both June and September, which are a highlight for the community. They feature German, Austrian and German-American bands. German beer is also sold here, such as Spaten.

Morris Knolls High School (MKHS) is a four-year comprehensive public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades from Denville Township and most of Rockaway Township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States, operating as one of the two secondary schools of the Morris Hills Regional High School District. The school is located in Denville but has a Rockaway mailing address. The other high school in the district is Morris Hills High School. As of the 2020–21 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,408 students and 133.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.5:1. There were 109 students (7.7% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 30 (2.1% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.As a part of the Morris Hills Regional School District's (MHRD) magnet program, Morris Knolls was approved as an International Baccalaureate (IB) world school. The IB Diploma Program at Morris Knolls (MKIB) serves more than 80 students. As of 2018, Morris Knolls is host to The Academy of Performing Arts, a magnet school for Morris County Vocational School District and the Morris County School of Technology (MCVTS).

The Joseph Jackson House, also known as the Colonel Joseph Jackson House, is a historic Dutch Colonial building located at 82 East Main Street in the borough of Rockaway in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. It was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) in 1938 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 4, 1975, for its significance in industry. The house is now the Rockaway Borough Public Library.

Victory Gardens is a borough in Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 1,582, an increase of 62 (+4.1%) from the 2010 census count of 1,520, which in turn reflected a decline of 26 (−1.7%) from the 1,546 counted in the 2000 census.Victory Gardens is Morris County's smallest municipality, measured both by size and population, and its most densely populated. Additionally, the borough is the state's fourth-smallest municipality by area.

The Rockaway Borough Well Field is a Superfund site that came into place in 1981 after the soil was suspected of being contaminated with toxic chemicals. The site is located in Rockaway, Morris County, New Jersey. It was first found to be an official Superfund site after it was discovered that tetrachloroethene (PCE) and trichloroethylene (TCE) were contaminating the soil. Studies suspected that the chemicals were coming from the area of two companies in the town of Rockaway. In 1985, the residents of Rockaway were advised not to drink the tap water and the National Guard had to come and supply water supplies for the community. The town soon installed a water filter system in order to try to reduce the amount of pollution in the water. After finding that the system was not effective, the NJDEP (New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection) came to the scene to investigate the soil. NJDEP found that the soil tested positive with chemicals and from there the EPA were contacted. The EPA found chemicals in different areas of the borough and found that the soil was contaminated and began to install a groundwater treatment system that functioned to purify the ground of chemicals. The system was soon pumping up to 900,000 gallons of water from the boroughs wells. Today, the pump is still functioning and has since reduced the amount of chemicals and the chance of pollution in the water to appear again. The final project to completely purify the water is still in production.

The Kubert School, formerly the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art and Joe Kubert School, is a private, for-profit technical school focused on cartooning and located in Dover, New Jersey. It teaches the principles of sequential art and the particular craft of the comics industry as well as commercial illustration. It is the only accredited school devoted entirely to cartooning. The school's instructors are full-time professionals working in the industry, many of them graduates of the school themselves, and the instruction is hands-on and practical. The school has a reputation for demanding and intensive coursework. Its alumni include Ed Piskor, Amanda Conner, Lee Weeks, Andy Price, George McClements, and Alex Maleev, as well as many other comics pencilers and inkers.

Dover is an active commuter railroad train station in the borough of Dover, Morris County, New Jersey. Located at the end of electric service, Dover station serves as a secondary terminal of NJ Transit's Morristown and Montclair-Boonton Lines. Non-electric service continues west to Hackettstown on both lines. The next station to the west is Mount Arlington while the next station to the east is Denville. Dover station consists of a single island platform, accessible for the handicapped. The first train in Dover arrived on July 31, 1848, with the extension of the Morris and Essex Railroad from Rockaway, which opened just 27 days prior. The Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad constructed the current station depot on Dickerson Street in 1901, opening on November 1. The station depot joined the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
