The Albany Building is a 19th-century Grade II* listed building located on Old Hall Street, in Liverpool, Merseyside, England. Built originally as a meeting place for cotton brokers, it has since been converted into apartments.

Liverpool Cotton Exchange Building is an office block in Old Hall Street, Liverpool, Merseyside, England. The commercial building, which originally had a Neoclassical façade, replaced the 19th-century cotton exchange in Exchange Flags in 1906. Between 1967 and 1969 the building's exterior was given a contemporary mid 20th century design. The building is used mainly for offices; retail facilities operate at street level.

The Old Liverpool Cotton Exchange Building in Old Hall Street in Liverpool was a huge and superb Edwardian building designed by Huon Arthur Matear and Frank Worthington Simon, built by the Waring-White Building Company, and was officially opened by the Prince and Princess of Wales on 30 November 1906. The building cost around £300,000 build and the opening took place in the company of 3,000 guests. Its façade was in Neoclassical style, with Baroque towers at the angles. Its exterior decoration included statues. Inside the building was the latest technology for communicating with cotton trading elsewhere in the world, including telephones, and cables linking directly with New York, Bremen and Bombay. The Old Hall Street front of the Cotton Exchange by Matear & Simon in Baroque Revival architecture style was replaced in 1967–69 with a modern-style façade designed by Newton-Dawson, Forbes and Tate and the former main exchange hall was replaced by a courtyard.

Liverpool Exchange railway station was a railway station located in the city centre of Liverpool, England. Of the four terminal stations in Liverpool's city centre, Exchange station was the only station not accessed via a tunnel. The station was badly damaged during World War II and lost a large proportion of the trainshed roof, which was never rebuilt, remaining an iron frame. The station's long-distance services were switched to Liverpool Lime Street in the 1960s, and, as a terminus, the station became redundant in the late 1970s, when its remaining local services switched to the newly opened Merseyrail tunnels under Liverpool city centre. It was closed in 1977, being replaced by the new Moorfields underground station nearby.

Liverpool Stadium was a boxing arena on St. Paul's Square, Bixteth Street, Liverpool, England. The foundation stone was laid by the Earl of Lonsdale on 22 July 1932, and it opened to the public on 20 October 1932. The facade was finished in faience tiling with Art Deco detail, as were the lobby, corridors and public areas inside. The arena itself was wood panelled. The architect was Kenmure Kinna. Aside from boxing, it hosted wrestling matches, pop and rock music concerts (Hawkwind's legendary live album The Space Ritual Alive in Liverpool and London used recordings from their December 1972 concert at the stadium), political hustings and trade union meetings. It closed in 1985 and was demolished in 1987.

The Nelson Monument is a monument to Admiral Horatio Nelson, in Exchange Flags, Liverpool, England. It was designed by Matthew Cotes Wyatt and sculpted by Richard Westmacott. It stands to the north of the Town Hall and was unveiled in 1813.

Exchange Flags is a Grade II listed building in Liverpool, England. It is laid out in a 'U' shape, with Walker House situated on the west side and Horton House on the east side. Walker House (formerly known as Derby House) was adapted during its construction to include a reinforced bunker that housed the Western Approaches Command Headquarters, the command centre for the campaign waged against the German submarine fleet during the Second World War. The courtyard faces Liverpool Town Hall and contains the Nelson Monument.

It was demolished and replaced by the current building (Exchange Flags) in 1939.The courtyard faced Liverpool Town Hall and contained the Nelson Monument. The building was on the same site of another previous exchange (Exchange Buildings (1803–08; demolished 1864)) in Liverpool. It was the centre of the cotton trade, cotton traders were based in the surrounding streets, surviving offices used by cotton traders include the Albany Building in Old Hall Street, Berey's Buildings, Bixteth Street and Mason's Building in Exchange Street East, in 1896 cotton trading moved indoors to Brown's Buildings were the former Martin Bank Headquarters is now. The tympanum in the pediment above the south portico once contained sculptures carved and sculpted by William Nicholl and designed by Cockerell. The News Room of the new Exchange Building as built in 1864, was far grander than the old one of the former Exchange Buildings, constructed in 1808. The illustration here and shows a civic ball held in the News Room to honour the visiting Prince Arthur, and Prince and Princess Christian. This print was published in "The Illustrated London News" in 1868 (18 Jan 1868, page 68).

The Western Approaches Museum in Liverpool, England, is a museum chronicling the work of Western Approaches Command around Atlantic convoys, combating the U-boat menace and the Battle of the Atlantic. Set in the restored former Second World War command centre responsible for coordinating the effort, the museum consists of re-opened rooms housing artefacts from when the command centre was in active use.The museum includes a tour that covers the Central Operations room, cypher room, a 1940s street scene, NAAFI canteen and community classroom facility. It also contains the original Gaumont Kalee Dragon projector which Winston Churchill used to watch secret war footage.Since September 2017, the museum has been run by a social enterprise group, Big Heritage. Since taking over, Big Heritage has undertaken a restoration of the site, unearthing artefacts and parts of the facility that had been closed off since the 1960s. The museum now hosts a special exhibition entitles "The Arctic Convoys - A Shared History" and will soon open (April 2022) an exhibition dedicated to the women of the WRNS (Women's Royal Naval Service). Entry price to the museum includes 12 months of unlimited returns and there are concessions available. Children under the age of 16 are free.
