North Brabant

Operation Pheasant, also known as the Liberation of North Brabant, was a major operation to clear German troops from the province of North Brabant in the Netherlands during the fighting on the Western Front in the Second World War. This offensive was conceived as a result of the failure of Operation Market Garden and the allied effort to capture the important port of Antwerp. It was conducted by the allied 21st Army Group between 20 October to 4 November 1944.After overcoming some German resistance, this operation liberated the cities of Tilburg, 's-Hertogenbosch, Roosendaal, Bergen op Zoom, Willemstad and Breda. As a result, the offensive cleared much of Brabant; the German positions which had defended the region along its canals and rivers were broken.

Capelle (also Kapelle) is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located about 6 km west of Waalwijk. The village was first mentioned in 1257 as Capella, and means chapel. The original village was flooded in the St. Elizabeth's flood of 1421. The Dutch Reformed church dates from 1750 and has a wooden domed tower.Capelle was home to 144 people in 1840. Capelle was a separate municipality until 1923, when it merged with Sprang and Vrijhoeve-Capelle. They formed the new municipality of Sprang-Capelle, which existed until 1997. The village was flooded during the North Sea flood of 1953 and 42 people died. The municipality decided not to rebuilt the village. Since 1997 Capelle is part of the municipality of Waalwijk.

Vrijhoeve-Capelle is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Waalwijk, about 10 km north of Tilburg.

Loon op Zand (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈloːn ɔp ˈsɑnt] ) is a municipality and a village in the southern Netherlands. It had a population of 23,504 in 2021. The western part of national park the Loonse en Drunense Duinen is located in the municipality of Loon op Zand.

Aquanura is the name of a fountain system in the Efteling theme park in the Netherlands. The premiere took place on 31 May 2012 on the park's 60th anniversary, and it opened to the public the following day. The fountain was developed by WET Design, Efteling and Tebodin Consultants & Engineers. The fountain is the largest in Europe and the third largest in the world, after The Dubai Fountain and the Fountains of Bellagio, though it could better be compared as a smaller version of Disney's World of Color.The show falls within the scope of the Frog King theme. As such, 4 large frog replicas are placed in the pond.

Villa Volta is an attraction in the amusement park Efteling in the Netherlands. It is a rare type of ride known as a madhouse, a variation of a haunted house, where the visitors get the illusion that either the building, the visitors themselves or both are turned upside down. It was designed by Ton van de Ven and was built by Vekoma in 1996. At the time it was the first of its sort; nowadays the concept has been taken over by a number of other amusement parks.

Fata Morgana, the forbidden city, also known as 1001 Arabian Nights (or "1001 nachten" in Dutch) is a dark ride in the amusement park Efteling in the Netherlands. The attraction was designed by Ton van de Ven and Jan Verhoeven and opened in 1986.

Sprang-Capelle is a former municipality in the North Brabant province of the Netherlands. It was formed in 1923 as a merger of the municipalities of Sprang, Vrijhoeve-Capelle and 's Grevelduin-Capelle. Therefore Sprang-Capelle consists of three villages: 's Grevelduin-Capelle, Vrijhoeve-Capelle and Sprang. In 1997 the municipality of Sprang-Capelle was added to the municipality of Waalwijk. The amusement park Efteling is located in the neighbourhood of Sprang-Capelle.
