Eching station is a railway station in the municipality of Eching, located in the Freising district in Upper Bavaria, Bavaria, Germany.

Lohhof station is a railway station in the Lohhof district of the town of Unterschleißheim, located in the Munich district in Upper Bavaria, Bavaria, Germany.

Neufahrn (b Freising) station is located in the town of Neufahrn bei Freising in the German state of Bavaria and is served by the Munich S-Bahn. The station is on the Munich–Regensburg railway and is served by . North of the station, a link to the airport branches off; this was opened in 1998 as an alternative to . So line services are coupled or uncoupled at Neufahrn station. Usually the rear section of the train goes to Munich Airport Terminal station and the front section goes to Freising station. The station has a side platform as platform 1 and a central platform between platform tracks 2 and 3. Trains are uncoupled to run towards Freising and the Airport on platform 1. Trains running towards Munich East station are coupled mainly on track 3, although some are coupled on track 2. The side platform is designed as the “home” platform (next to the station building), which can be reached by ramps from both ends of the station from Bahnhofstraße (station street) or from a footpath. The central platform is accessible through underpasses at both ends, with the underpass located at the western end having ramps to the station forecourt (Bahnhofsplatz) and to Massenhauser Straße and a lift to the platform. Bahnhofstrasse also has P & R parking. A connection to the airport with a flyover was built north of the station. The previously unused home platform was also rebuilt and installed with new points, which are designed for 100 km/h. The home platform is 210 metres long and 96 cm high. The platform for tracks 2 and 3 is 210 metres long, but only 76 cm high.

The Oskar von Miller Tower (German: Oskar-von-Miller-Turm) is a tower for meteorological measurements located in Garching, Germany. Built in 2007–2009, it is named after Oskar von Miller and operated by the Technical University of Munich.A concrete structure surrounded by a coat of acrylic glass, the Oskar von Miller Tower has a height of 62 metres and carries measuring devices to all directions 5, 10, 20, 35 and 50 metres above ground. 1350 LEDs display the logo of the Technical University of Munich, while 3750 display the actual weather data. It replaced a guyed mast used for the same purpose on the area.

The Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) (German: Leibniz-Rechenzentrum) is a supercomputing centre on the Campus Garching near Munich, operated by the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Among other IT services, it provides supercomputer resources for research and access to the Munich Scientific Network (MWN); it is connected to the Deutsches Forschungsnetz with a 24 Gbit/s link. The centre is named after Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz. It was founded in 1962 by Hans Piloty and Robert Sauer as part of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the host for several world leading supercomputers (HLRB, HLRB-II, SuperMUC).

The Max-Planck-Institute of Quantum Optics (abbreviation: MPQ; German: Max-Planck-Institut für Quantenoptik) is a part of the Max Planck Society which operates 87 research facilities in Germany. The institute is located in Garching, Germany, which in turn is located 10 km north-east of Munich. Five research groups work in the fields of attosecond physics, laser physics, quantum information theory, laser spectroscopy, quantum dynamics and quantum many body systems.

Oberschleißheim (German pronunciation: [oːbɐˈʃlaɪ̯sˌhaɪ̯m] (listen)) is a municipality in the district of Munich, in Bavaria, Germany. It is located 13 km north of Munich (centre). As of 2005 it had a population of 11,467. Oberschleißheim is best known for the Schleissheim Palace and the Flugwerft Schleissheim next to the airport housing the airplane department of the German Museum. The airfield is also home to one of the five German Federal Police helicopter squadrons. Established in 1912, the airfield was the first in Bavaria. During World War II, a subcamp of Dachau concentration camp was located here.In the early 20th century, Schleißheim was home to author Waldemar Bonsels, who was inspired to write his "Biene Maja" by a gnarly tree in the woods nearby.
