Livingston County, New York

The Boyd and Parker ambush was a minor military engagement in what is now Groveland, New York on September 13, 1779, during the American Revolutionary War. A scouting patrol of the Sullivan Expedition was ambushed by Loyalist soldiers led by Major John Butler and their Seneca allies led by Cornplanter and Little Beard.

Williamsburg Cemetery is a historic cemetery located at Hampton Corners in Livingston County, New York. It was established in 1792 and is one of the earliest European American settlement period cemeteries in Western New York and is the last surviving above ground remnant of the now vanished village of Williamsburg. Williamsburg was established by Captain Charles Williamson acting in his capacity as agent for British investors in The Pulteney Association in the late 18th century. Notable burials include U.S. Representative Charles H. Carroll (1794–1865) and William Fitzhugh, an early investor in what is now Livingston County, and business partner of Colonel Nathaniel Rochester, founder of that city. It is also the final resting place of Henry Fitzhugh (1801–1866) and James G. Birney (1792–1857), son in law of William Fitzhugh and candidate for President of the United States by the Liberty Party in the 1840 and 1844 presidential elections on an abolitionist platform. Stones bear dates that range from about 1814 to about 1910 and it is an important reminder of the early settlement of the Genesee Valley. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Groveland is a town in Livingston County, New York, United States. The population was 3,249 at the 2010 census. The town is centrally located in the county, south of Geneseo.

Sparta First Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church located at Groveland Station in Livingston County, New York. The building is a simple but sophisticated combination of Arts and Crafts principals and freely styled Tudor Gothic detailing executed with modern building materials. It was constructed in 1915-1916 and is composed of a large principal gable block with a gabled wing. It features a crenellated tower rising a full story above the ridgeline of the roofs. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Groveland Station is a census-designated place (CDP) in Livingston County, New York, United States. The CDP consists of the hamlet of Groveland and nearby residential areas. The CDP population was 281 as of the 2010 census. New York State Route 63 passes through the community.

Livingston Correctional Facility was a medium security state prison in Sonyea, Livingston County, New York, owned and operated by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. Livingston was opened in 1991, held 881 adult male inmates at medium security level, and was immediately adjacent to the state's Groveland Correctional Facility. It was closed on September 1, 2019.

Conesus Lake is a lake located in Livingston County, New York. Conesus Lake is the westernmost of New York's eleven Finger Lakes. It is located off Interstate 390 about 15 miles (24 km) south of Interstate 90.

Conesus Lake Boat Launch is a three-acre (1.2 ha) state park on the east shore of Conesus Lake, one of the minor Finger Lakes, near the village of Livonia in Livingston County, New York. The park is open from late-April to mid-October and offers a boat launch, fishing access, and picnic tables.

Black and White Farm Barn is a historic barn located near Sonyea in Livingston County, New York. It is a large two story wood-frame building built in 1884 on a 600-acre (2.4 km2) farm. The barn is rectangular in plan and measures 160 feet (49 m) in length and 200 feet (61 m) in depth. It features a central courtyard which measures approximately 80 feet (24 m) in length and 120 feet (37 m) in depth. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Canaseraga Creek is a stream that flows through Livingston, Steuben, and Allegany Counties in western and central New York. It is a tributary of the Genesee River, and its 334-square-mile (870 km2) watershed is the largest sub-watershed of that river. The creek's name is of Seneca origin, and was recorded in early records as Ganusgago, Kanuskago, and Caniskrauga. Translations of the name include both "among the milkweeds" and "slippery elms".

USS Lady of the Lake was a small schooner in the United States Navy during the War of 1812. She was built by Henry Eckford of Sacketts Harbor, New York, during the summer and winter of 1812-13, launched 6 April 1813 and entered service 13 days later, Sailing Master Flinn in command.

Sliker Cobblestone House is a historic home located at Conesus in Livingston County, New York. It consists of a 1+1⁄2-story frame structure with a 2-story visually dominant cobblestone portion and 1-story rear shed addition. It features medium-sized field cobbles set in horizontal rows in its construction. The interior features Federal-style details. Also on the property are four contributing outbuildings: a shed, four privies, and a barn dating to about 1900.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
