Llantarnam School

Llantarnam (Welsh: Llanfihangel Llantarnam) is a suburban village of Cwmbran, and is a community and electoral ward in the county borough of Torfaen in south east Wales. The ward covers the same area as the community, but also includes Southville. It is equidistant from Cwmbran town centre and the town of Caerleon. Llantarnam Abbey is a Cistercian abbey founded in 1179 as a daughter house of Strata Florida Abbey. The remains of that abbey are incorporated into the present buildings housing the Sisters of Saint Joseph. It also contains St Michael's Church. Llantarnam Hall is home to Rougemont School. In 2015 Llantarnam School amalgamated with Fairwater High School to make the new school of Cwmbran High School. [1]

The Boating Lake Park (officially called Crow Valley Central Recreation Grounds but this name is rarely used) is a large public park in Cwmbran, Torfaen in Wales. As its name suggests, the park features a boating lake. There are in fact two lakes, the larger being home to various wetland birds and the smaller being the actual boating one. Water area is 5 acres (20,000 m2). The park is bordered by the Afon Llwyd on one side and a railway line on the other. The park is quite expansive and includes a large adventure playground, a skate park and various sports pitches. The northern end of the park is in the Cwmbran suburb of Southville, whereas the southern end is in Llanyrafon. The lake has just undergone a £250,000 refurbishment project which includes new trees and plants a marginal and bog area around the entire pond and a small island which will act as a refuge for wildlife. Improvements have also been made to the paths around the lake which include small areas of wooden decking and the new path which runs along the river. Work began on the improvements in January and were completed in June 2009.The boating lake has the opportunity for children and adults to use peddle boats and row boats across both ponds. Cwmbran boating lake has picnic areas around the park, and a cafe.

Llanyrafon is a suburb of Cwmbran and a community in the county borough of Torfaen in south east Wales. It lies within the boundaries of the historic county of Monmouthshire and the preserved county of Gwent.

Llanfrechfa Grange Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty Llanfrechfa Grange) is a medical facility providing assessment and treatment services for people with learning disabilities. It is located to the east of Cwmbran on the B4236 road towards Caerleon to the south-east. It is managed by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. The main building is a Grade II listed building.

Cwmbran Celtic Football Club is a football club based in Cwmbran, Torfaen, South Wales who play in the Cymru South. The first team plays in the Cymru South and the Reserve Team plays in the Welsh Football League Reserve Division (East). The team plays at Celtic Park in Cwmbran.

Grange University Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty Athrofaol y Faenor) is a Specialist Critical Care Centre at the site of Llanfrechfa Grange Hospital on the eastern side of Cwmbran. It is managed by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

Cwmbran Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium and sports complex in Cwmbran, Wales. The stadium holds 10,500 people and the main outdoor arena consists of an athletics track surrounding a 4g football pitch. It is the home ground of Cwmbran Town F.C.

Rougemont School (Welsh: Ysgol Rougemont) is an independent co-educational day school located in the manor house Llantarnam Hall in south Wales. The school offers education for three to eighteen year-olds. The current headmistress is Lisa Pritchard, previously head of the prep school, who succeeded Robert Carnevale on his retirement in 2023. Robert Carnevale was headmaster from 2014-2023.

Croesyceiliog School (Welsh: Ysgol Croes-y-ceiliog) is a state-funded secondary school in the Croesyceiliog area of Cwmbran, in South Wales, UK.
