Sir Thomas Rich's School is a grammar school with academy status for boys (aged 11–18) and girls (aged 16–18, in the sixth form) in Longlevens, Gloucester, England, locally known as "Tommies". It was founded in 1666 by Sir Thomas Rich, 1st Baronet.The school moved to a new site outside the city centre in 1964. It offers a range of teaching and sporting facilities.

Longlevens, originally Longleavens, is a suburb of Gloucester, in the unparished area of Gloucester, in the Gloucester district, in the county of Gloucestershire, England. It developed from a farmstead during the twentieth century, the name may be based on the old Roman name Colonia Glevensis, or the name could be based on an original field name "Long Elevens". This could have related to a long field about eleven acres therefore this could have been adopted as a name for the hamlet, first recorded in 1750, as part of the estate of Gloucester Cathedral. One of the oldest roads is 'The Avenue', which is shown on old maps as a number of farm cottages. The population of Longlevens was 9,532 at the time of the 2011 Census.

Longlevens Association Football Club is a football club based in the Longlevens suburb of Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England. They are currently members of the Hellenic League Premier Division and play at Saw Mills End.

Until 2008, it was best known for RAF Innsworth, the home of the RAF Personnel and Training Command, before its move to RAF High Wycombe to co-locate with RAF Strike Command, forming RAF Air Command. Innsworth like its neighbouring village, Churchdown, is split into two halves: the military housing side which ends at the junction of Ward Avenue and Swallow Crescent and also Thompson Way again with Swallow Crescent.

Barnwood was originally a small village on the Roman road that links Gloucester with Hucclecote, Brockworth and Cirencester. This then became the corporate headquarters of Nuclear Electric, and later the English offices of the (nominally Scottish-based) British Energy, which in 2009 became part of EDF Energy. Other major companies in Barnwood include Claranet, Cheltenham & Gloucester and InterCall. There is also a Holiday Inn, Sainsbury's, Virgin Active and Tenpin Ltd in the area. Barnwood Park School is a secondary school.

Gloucestershire Parkway railway station is or was a proposed development in transport infrastructure for a semi-greenfield site surrounded by warehouse and light industry units 1.4 miles (2.3 km) east of Gloucester city centre (including its main railway station) which is on a major east-west spur line off of the greater north-south Birmingham-to-Bristol line on which this station would be built. The proposed site is specifically by an intra-city (urban) part of the inceptive A40 road in an area known as Elmbridge Court, Gloucester, England.

Barnwood House Hospital was a private mental hospital in Barnwood, Gloucester, England. It was founded by the Gloucester Asylum Trust in 1860 as Barnwood House Institution and later became known as Barnwood House Hospital. The hospital catered for well-to-do patients, with reduced terms for those in financial difficulties. It was popular with the military and clergy, and once counted an Archbishop amongst its patients. During the late nineteenth century Barnwood House flourished under superintendent Frederick Needham, making a healthy profit and receiving praise from the Commissioners in Lunacy. Even the sewerage system was held up as a model of good asylum practice. After the First World War service patients, including war poet and composer Ivor Gurney, were treated with a regime of psychotherapy and recreations such as cricket.During the 1960s Barnwood House experienced financial problems and closed in 1968. The grounds are now an arboretum run by Gloucester City Council. Barnwood House Trust continues to exist as a charity that supports research and awards grants to people with physical or mental disabilities in Gloucestershire. The Chief Executive is Sally Byng.

Barnwood Park School is a coeducational secondary school located in the Barnwood area of Gloucester in the English county of Gloucestershire.It was originally known as Barnwood Park High School for Girls, but was then awarded specialist status as an Arts College the school was renamed Barnwood Park Arts College. The school achieved the Artsmark Gold from the Arts Council of England in 2009. From September 2018 the school became coeducational and was renamed Barnwood Park School. Today it is a foundation school administered by Gloucestershire County Council.Barnwood Park School offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils.
