WRGP ("The Roar") is the student-run radio station of Florida International University in Miami, Florida, United States. WRGP broadcasts on 88.1 MHz from a transmitter site in rural Miami-Dade County at 17107 SW 248 Street and from rebroadcasters on the two largest FIU campuses: W237CP (95.3 MHz) at the main Modesto A. Maidique Campus (formerly the University Park campus), where the station's studios are located in the Graham Center, and W245BF (96.9 MHz) on the Biscayne Bay Campus in North Miami.

WMLV (89.7 FM), branded as "K-Love", is a contemporary Christian-formatted radio station in Miami, Florida, owned by Educational Media Foundation. This listener supported, nonprofit public radio station had been owned by American Public Media Group, the parent nonprofit support organization of Minnesota Public Radio. The station was operated by Classical South Florida, a Florida nonprofit corporation owned by the American Public Media Group. The station's primary transmitter is located at 17107 SW 248 Street, 4.5 miles north of downtown Homestead. Most of WKCP's former classical programming was provided by American Public Media's Classical 24 service. The station's schedule also included Performance Today, SymphonyCast, Pipedreams, and Saint Paul Sunday. WMLV's programming is simulcast on WFLV 90.7 (formerly WPBI) in West Palm Beach and WDLV in Fort Myers. WKCP originally used translator station W270AD at 101.9 FM, until that station adopted National Public Radio programming shortly after APM purchased WPBI from Barry Communications in May 2011. WFLV's main signal still runs NPR news briefs at the top of drive time hours, and its HD2 subchannel also carries NPR programming, which is simulcasted on W270AD.

The Redland Farm Life School, also known as the Redland Farmlife School, is a historic former school in Redland, Florida, in southern Miami-Dade County. Opened in 1916, it consolidated seven one-room schoolhouses in the area and was at the time the second largest rural consolidated school in the country.

The William Anderson General Merchandise Store (also known as Anderson's Corner) is a historic site in Redland, Florida, United States. Built in 1911 by William “Popp” Anderson, who worked for railroad magnate Henry Flagler, the wood-frame structure is located at 15700 Southwest 232nd Street. It served as a general store for the thriving Redlands agricultural community until the 1930s, when it was converted into apartments. Condemned in 1975, it was granted a reprieve for rehabilitation, and was eventually converted into the successful Harvest House restaurant. After being ravaged by Hurricane Andrew in 1992, the building was partially restored, although it has remained vacant since.On October 18, 1977, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It was designated a historic building by Miami-Dade County in 1981. As of 2019, it is on the Dade Heritage Trust list of the 12 Most Endangered Sites in Miami-Dade County.

Redland, long known also as the Redlands or the Redland, is a historic unincorporated community and agricultural area in Miami-Dade County, Florida, located about 20 miles (32 km) southwest of downtown Miami and just northwest of Homestead, Florida. It is unique in that it constitutes a large farming belt directly adjoining what is now the seventh most populous major metropolitan area in the United States. Named for the pockets of red clay that cover a layer of oolitic limestone, Redland produces a variety of tropical fruits, many of which do not grow elsewhere in the continental United States. The area also contains a large concentration of ornamental nurseries. The landscape is dotted with u-pick'em fields, coral rock (oolite) walls, and the original clapboard homes of early settlers and other historic early twentieth century structures.

The Silver Palm Schoolhouse is an historic school in the Silver Palm Historic District within the unincorporated community of Redland, Florida, United States. It is located at Silver Palm Drive and Newton Road. On July 2, 1987, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.Built in 1904 by local residents, the two-story structure was the first and largest of seven rural schools that were built in the Redlands. It operated as a school until 1916, when it and the other six rural schools were consolidated into the Redland Farm Life School.

The Fruit & Spice Park, formally known as the Preston B. Bird/Mary Heinlein Fruit & Spice Park, is a 37-acre park located in Redland, Florida, and it is the only botanical garden of its kind in the United States. This park is operated by Miami-Dade County Parks and Open Spaces Department. The park attracts more than 50,000 visitors per year because of its unique agricultural environment. The garden features more than 500 different types of international exotic fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices. Visitors are allowed to sample fallen fruits, have lunch at the Mango Cafe, or schedule a tour of the park.

Silver Palm is an unincorporated community and historic district in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. It is located about 20 miles (32 km) southwest of Miami within the unincorporated community of Redland. Formerly a distinct community in the first half of the 20th century, it has now been absorbed into other communities in the region. The Homestead and Redland District directory for 1927-1928 includes the community of Silver Palm. The community name survives in Silver Palm Drive and the Silver Palm Schoolhouse.

Aladdin City is an unincorporated community in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. It is located about 20 miles (32 km) southwest of Miami within the unincorporated community of Redland. It is notable as the site of a planned community—similar to Opa-locka, Coral Gables, and Miami Springs, Florida—whose development was snuffed out by the abrupt end of the Florida land boom of the 1920s.

South Dade Senior High School is a secondary school in unincorporated Miami-Dade County, Florida, just north of Homestead. It is located on 60 acres (240,000 m2) at the southernmost end of Miami-Dade County. It is the older of the two public high schools that serves the population of parts of the city of Homestead, Redland, Naranja, Leisure City, and other unincorporated areas. South Dade is currently structured as a magnet school with International Baccalaureate and five other Academic programs that draw students from throughout the region.

Monkey Jungle is a 30-acre (12 ha) zoological park located in South Miami, Florida. Established in 1933 by Joseph DuMond for the exhibition and study of endangered monkeys in semi-natural habitats after releasing 6 Java Macaques into a subtropical forest, the park is now home to over 300 primates. As the tagline, "Where humans are caged and monkeys run wild!," suggests, the primary experience at Monkey Jungle has guests travel through the park on a caged walkway while different primates roam semi-freely in a natural habitat. Monkey Jungle is one of just a few protected habitats for primates in the United States, and the only one that the public can explore. Guests can embark on trips through a Southeast Asian Wild Monkey Pool & Trail, the Cameroon Gorilla Forest, the Amazonian Rainforest, and visit tropical birds in Wings of Love. Monkey Jungle also provides a home to other animals such as: Lemurs, sloths, turtles, tortoises, and a Rhino iguana. Monkey Jungle is not accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums. The park is currently open only for scheduled tours offered three times a day.

Coral Castle is an oolite limestone structure created by the Latvian-American eccentric Edward Leedskalnin (1887–1951). It is located in unincorporated territory of Miami-Dade County, Florida, between the cities of Homestead and Leisure City. The structure comprises numerous large stones, each weighing several tons, sculpted into a variety of shapes, including slab walls, tables, chairs, a crescent moon, a water fountain and a sundial. It is currently a privately operated tourist attraction. Coral Castle is noted for legends surrounding its creation that claim it was built single-handedly by Leedskalnin using reverse magnetism or supernatural abilities to move and carve the stones.
