Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" (ETU, ETU "LETI", Russian: Санкт-Петербургский государственный электротехнический университет «ЛЭТИ» им. В.И. Ульянова (Ленина), СПбГЭТУ «ЛЭТИ») is a public university and one of the oldest Russian higher education institutions. It was founded in 1886 as a Technical College. LETI, as it is popularly called, received the status of a higher education institution in 1899 and became known as Electrotechnical Institute. ETU was the first higher educational institution in Europe to specialize in electrical engineering. In August 2016 ETU “LETI” became the part of the Project 5-100, a Russian academic excellence program. The University has training programs in fields of radio engineering, telecommunications, control processes, computer engineering and IT, electronics, biomedical engineering, management, and linguistics.

The Chyornaya Rechka (Russian: Чёрная Речка, lit. 'Black River'), originally Mustajogi (in the Karelian language), is a small river in Saint Petersburg. It is 8.1 kilometres long, and flows into the Great Nevka, a branch of the Neva.The Chyornaya Rechka is known for famous duels that took place there, including the 1909 duel between Nikolai Gumilyov and Maximilian Voloshin over the matter of a fictitious poet called Cherubina de Gabriak [in the Finnish language: Kaprijakin (Kaprion) Kerubitar], and the fatal duel between poet-playwright Alexander Pushkin and Georges d'Anthès. The Chyornaya Rechka contributes to St. Petersburg's weather - since water absorbs and radiates heat slower than land it makes temperatures less extreme in a place so close to the polar zone.

The main Saint Petersburg Botanical Garden, officially known as the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Komarov Botanical Institute's Botanical Garden of Peter the Great (Russian: Ботанический сад Петра Великого Ботанического института им. В. Л. Комарова РАН (in short Ботанический сад БИН РАН); since 1823 Emperor's Botanical Garden "Императорский Ботанический сад", originally Apothecary Garden "Аптекарский огород"), is the oldest botanical garden in Russia and the best-known one out of botanical gardens of Saint Petersburg, the other two belonging respectively to Saint Petersburg State University and Saint Petersburg Forestry Technical University. It consists of outdoor and indoor collections situated on Aptekarsky Island in Saint Petersburg and belongs to the Komarov Botanical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It is 18.9 ha in area, and is bordered by Aptekarsky Prospekt (main entrance), Prof. Popov Street (second entrance), as well as the embankments of the Karpovka and Bolshaya Neva rivers.

The First Pavlov State Medical University of St. Petersburg (Russian: Первый Санкт-Петербургский государственный медицинский университет имени академика И. П. Павлова, ПСПбГМУ им. акад. И. П. Павлова) is a higher education institution, medical university in St. Petersburg.PSPbGMU is called the First Medical Institute in St. Petersburg because of its renaming in 1936, relative to Saint Petersburg State Medical Academy named after I.I. Mechnikov, which is called the Second Medical Institute.

Aptekarsky Ostrov Municipal Okrug (Russian: муниципа́льный о́круг Апте́карский О́стров) is a municipal okrug in Petrogradsky District, one of the eighty-one low-level municipal divisions of the federal city of St. Petersburg, Russia. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 20,575, up from 19,277 recorded during the 2002 Census.

Aptekarsky Island (Russian: Апте́карский о́стров, pronounced [ɐˈpʲtʲɛkərstkʲɪj ˈostrəf], "Apothecary Island", Finnish: Korpisaari, "Deep Forest Island") is a relatively small island situated in the northern part of the Neva delta. It is separated from Petrogradsky Island by the Karpovka River, from Kamenny Island and Krestovsky Island by the Malaya Nevka and from the Vyborgskaya region of St-Petersburg by the Bolshaya Nevka. It has an area of approximately two square kilometres. Aptekarsky Island is connected to Petrogradsky Island by seven bridges: Aptekarsky Bridge, Petropavlovsky Bridge, Silyn Bridge, Geslerovsky Bridge, Karpovsky Bridge, Barochny Bridge and Molodyozhny Bridge. It is connected to Kamenny Island by Kamennoostrovsky Bridge and to the Vyborgskaya region by Kantemirovsky Bridge and Grenadersky Bridge. In 1714, Tsar Peter I gave orders to transform the island into a headquarters for the Medical Clerical Office and the Main Pharmacy. The island's name, Aptekarsky, means pharmacy in Russian. On the southeastern part of the island, a garden was set up for the cultivation of medicinal herbs. Over time, it became the Saint Petersburg Botanical Garden and eventually, the Komarov Botanical Institute was founded here. The island expanded from medicinal herbs into medical devices with the founding of the first medical device laboratory. This laboratory has since become the firm Krasnogvardeets, which is based in St. Petersburg. During the reigns of Paul I and Alexander I of Russia, the area became a resort destination as Russian aristocrats came to the island and built their country estates. As the industrialization of the island grew, the 20th century brought apartment construction to house the new workers. A number of the apartment houses were designed by such renowned Russian architects as Vladimir Shuko, designer of the Russian State Library in Moscow, and Fyodor Lidval, designer of the Hotel Astoria in St. Petersburg. A number of significant structures still stand on the island today including the First Lensoveta House (designed by Yevgeniy Levinson and Ivan Fomin), several buildings for television broadcast center (designed by Sergei Speransky), the television tower and the Youth Palace. Major educational institutions include the Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical University, Saint-Petersburg State Chemical Pharmaceutical Academy and the Experimental Medicine Institute of the Russian Academy of Medical Science. The St. Petersburg Hydro Meteorological Center is also located on the island.

Petrogradskaya (Russian: Петрогра́дская) is a station on the Moskovsko-Petrogradskaya Line of the Saint Petersburg Metro. The station was opened on July 1, 1963. The name was given by its location on Petrograskaya Storona and Petrogradskiy district The ground vestibule is by architects Andreev and Moskalenko, and is in the building of "Dom mod" ("House of Fashions"), at the intersection of Kamennoostrovsky prospect and Big prospect of Petrogradskaya Storona, near Leon Tolstoy square. There is underground slope to a pedestrian subway (originally with escalators, dismantled later). Petrogradskaya is station of deep location with platform screen doors. Its depth is 53 metres (174 ft). Underground hall was designed by architects Belov, Govorkovsky, Rivin, Tregubov and Shimakovsky. Crimped surface of the walls is tiled with ceramics. Rear wall is decorated with panel against the blue grating background with profiles of worker and kolkhoz woman, which expose the theme of revolutionary Petrograd. According to the most recent version of the system expansion plan, Petrogratskaya will become a transfer station, connected to the future Koltsevaya Line. From January 5, 2013, till November 2013, the station was closed for capital repair.

The Monument to Nizami Ganjavi in Saint Petersburg is located in a square situated between houses 25 and 27 on Kamennoostrovsky Prospekt.

Flugov post (Russian: Флю́гов Пост) was a railway station in St. Petersburg, Russia from 1904 to 1929. The station was also called Flugov shunting loop.

The Ostrov Theatre (Russian: Драматический театр «Остров») is a private theatre on the corner of Kamennoostrovsky Prospect in Saint Petersburg. It was founded in 1990.

Kammennoostrovsky Prospekt (Russian: Каменноостро́вский проспе́кт) is one of the main streets of Petrogradsky District of Saint Petersburg. It runs from Trinity Bridge and Trinity Square across Petrogradsky Island, the Karpovka River, Aptekarsky Island, the Malaya Nevka and Kamenny Island to the Bolshaya Nevka. It is served by two Saint Petersburg Metro stations: Gorkovskaya and Petrogradskaya. At Leo Tolstoy Square, where the Petrogradskaya Metro is located, Kamennoostrovsky Prospekt crosses another large avenue, Bolshoy Prospekt. The section of Kamennoostrovsky Prospekt between Trinity Square and the Malaya Nevka was named Red Dawns Street (улица Красных зорь) from 1918–1934 and Kirovsky Prospekt (Кировский проспект) after Sergey Kirov from 1934–1991.
