JSC Design Bureau for Special Machine-Building (KB SM; Russian: КБ СМ, Конструкторское бюро специального машиностроения) is a Soviet-Russian space rockets industry enterprise. Currently, it is part of Almaz-Antey. KB SM developed and produced a number of launch systems for air defence, Navy and Strategic Missile Troops. Currently, KB SM develop reinforced concrete containers for long-term storage and transportation of spent nuclear fuel and ship-based nuclear power plants TUK108/1. KB SM is responsible for the creation of railway cranes carrying 80 tons or 150 tons for the Soviet/Russian Ministry of Railways.

House of Specialists (Russian: Дом специалистов) at 61 Lesnoy Prospect avenue in Saint Petersburg, Russia, is a compound of three apartment buildings in the city's northern / northeastern Vyborgskiy district designed and constructed in 1930s under the Soviet government decision to improve living conditions of professionals in a number of cities, building Houses for specialists (USSR) (workmen were given new accommodations too). Among the residents of the house were many notable scientists, engineers and several art workers, and the compound was entered into the cultural heritage list by an act of the city legislative assembly in 1999.

The Twice-Red Banner Military Institute of Physical Culture of the Ministry of Defense of Russia (Russian: Военный дважды Краснознамённый институт физической культуры Министерства обороны Российской Федерации) is the Russian Armed Forces' principal center for military athletes who are in active service in the Armed Forces who are trained not just in national defense but also to compete and play for the glory of the country in domestic and international sporting competitions. Established on May 17, 1909 Saint Petersburg, the college is still in operation in Russia and is the military counterpart of the long standing Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health.

Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University (Санкт-Петербургский государственный педиатрический медицинский университет), formerly known as St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University (SPbSPMU) is a medical university located in Saint Petersburg, Russia, providing higher medical education with a specialization in Pediatrics.SPbSPMU has a state license and accreditation to provide training in English language, medicine according to the state standards. In June 2005, under the support of Government of Russia, State Duma, Federation Council of Russia, Russian Rector's Union, the prize-winners of Golden Medal: European Quality competition in the nomination of Top 100 of Russian Universities were awarded. Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical Academy was honored with a golden medal. Rector of the academy Vladimir Levanovich was named The Best Rector of The Year 2004.There are four programs in the University, leading to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) with a specialization in Pediatrics, Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Dental Medicine (DDM), and Master in Clinical Psychology degrees. Postgraduate training, providing the opportunity to get a PhD, is also available.

Lanskaya platform (Russian: Платфо́рма Ланска́я; Finnish: Lanskaja) is a railway station located in St. Petersburg, Russia. Lanskaya is commuter passenger station, its platforms are located on a high embankment. The platforms lie between Serdobolskaya street and Bolshoi Sampsonievsky street, passing over both by bridge. Platform of a direction from Saint Petersburg bent, island (but the left-hand side is used only). Opposite to a platform there is Lanskaya electric substation. The input on it is carried out from under the bridge, the two-mid-flight ladder blocked by the high arch barrel. The direction platform to Saint Petersburg a straight line, lateral, an input on it is carried out from Serdobolskaya street and from the Bolshoy Sampsonevsky prospect. A high-speed rail line between Saint Petersburg (Finlyandsky Rail Terminal) and Helsinki (see Karelian Trains) will pass through the station.

Lansky station crossover is a railway bridge across Serdobolskaya street. On either side of it, on high embankments, there are the station platforms of Lansky railway station. The bridge was opened in 1869 and the first train proceeded through it on July 3 [O.S. June 22] 1869. The bridge was expanded in 1926.

Lesnaya (Russian: Лесна́я - fem. of adj. лесной (lesnoy) "related to forest") is a station of the Saint Petersburg Metro underground railroad system in the northern, Vyborgsky district, part of its Line One (Red Line, originally named Kirovsko-Vyborgskaya Line). Named and coloured after its neighbourhood around Forestry Academy and the eponymous nearby avenue Lesnoy Prospect leading to the college from downtown. Opened on 22 April 1975. The station is 64 metres (210 ft) under the ground.

The Lansky substation was the first electrical substation constructed on the Finlyandsky Rail direct of Saint Peterburg, Russia. It is located within Lanskaya station. In the early 1950s the electric substation was built behind the station. The project building, in the style of Socialist Classicism, is a low squat building crowned by a small turret with a spire. Electrification of a site of road has begun with a direction Leningrad-Zelenogorsk (now it is a part of direct Saint Petersburg Finlyandsky-Vyborg) in 1951. The direction on station Finlyandsky Rail Terminal and Udelnaya station been electrified. On 4 August 1951 at 0130 hours an electric-power dispatcher gave the command to bring up the current in the contact network of the first electrified in the Karelian Isthmus area Leningrad - Zelenogorsk. In 1 hour 50 minutes en route to a trial trip off the first electric train.For the building of a high-speed rail line between Saint Petersburg (Finlyandsky Rail Terminal) and Helsinki station (see Karelian Trains) it is planned to modernise in 2009. After the end of works service of substations will be made remote-acting.

Saint Petersburg Television Tower is a 326 m (1,070 ft) Russian steel lattice television tower in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Being the first dedicated television tower in the Soviet Union, the Saint Petersburg TV Tower is utilized for transmitting for FM-/TV-broadcasting throughout the federal city.

Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" (ETU, ETU "LETI", Russian: Санкт-Петербургский государственный электротехнический университет «ЛЭТИ» им. В.И. Ульянова (Ленина), СПбГЭТУ «ЛЭТИ») is a public university and one of the oldest Russian higher education institutions. It was founded in 1886 as a Technical College. LETI, as it is popularly called, received the status of a higher education institution in 1899 and became known as Electrotechnical Institute. ETU was the first higher educational institution in Europe to specialize in electrical engineering. In August 2016 ETU “LETI” became the part of the Project 5-100, a Russian academic excellence program. The University has training programs in fields of radio engineering, telecommunications, control processes, computer engineering and IT, electronics, biomedical engineering, management, and linguistics.

The main Saint Petersburg Botanical Garden, officially known as the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Komarov Botanical Institute's Botanical Garden of Peter the Great (Russian: Ботанический сад Петра Великого Ботанического института им. В. Л. Комарова РАН (in short Ботанический сад БИН РАН); since 1823 Emperor's Botanical Garden "Императорский Ботанический сад", originally Apothecary Garden "Аптекарский огород"), is the oldest botanical garden in Russia and the best-known one out of botanical gardens of Saint Petersburg, the other two belonging respectively to Saint Petersburg State University and Saint Petersburg Forestry Technical University. It consists of outdoor and indoor collections situated on Aptekarsky Island in Saint Petersburg and belongs to the Komarov Botanical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It is 18.9 ha in area, and is bordered by Aptekarsky Prospekt (main entrance), Prof. Popov Street (second entrance), as well as the embankments of the Karpovka and Bolshaya Neva rivers.

St Sampson's Cathedral (Rus. Сампсониевский собор) is the oldest surviving church in St. Petersburg. It stands on the northern outskirts of the city and gives its name to Sampsonievsky Avenue. Rumor has it that it was in St. Sampson's Church that Catherine II of Russia secretly married Grigory Potemkin in 1774. The original wooden church was built in 1710 to honor Sampson the Hospitable. It was on the feast day of that saint that Peter the Great defeated Charles XII of Sweden in the Battle of Poltava. The existing church was built under Empress Anna to a design by Pietro Antonio Trezzini. It was consecrated in 1740. The tent-like belltower was built at a later date. The original church had only one dome; the four subsidiary domes were added in 1761. The church was considerably renovated as part of the battle's bicentennial celebrations. A Rastrelliesque chapel was constructed on the grounds, and Peter I's address to his soldiers at Poltava was inscribed on the wall. It was at that time that the church was elevated to cathedral status. The parish was disbanded by the Soviets in the 1930s, and the building was converted into a warehouse. It was restored in the late 1970s and reopened in 2000 as a museum attached to St. Isaac's Cathedral. The grave yard which surrounds the church has been filled for centuries. Some of the city's first foreign architects, including Jean-Baptiste Alexandre Le Blond and Domenico Trezzini, were buried there. The tomb of Artemy Volynsky and Pyotr Yeropkin (both executed exactly 31 years after the Poltava victory) is by Alexander Opekushin (1885). The statue of Peter the Great in front of the cathedral was designed by Mark Antokolsky. It was removed by the Soviets and restored in 2003 as part of the city's tercentenary celebrations. On 5 February 2017 the cathedral was transferred from the state to the Russian Orthodox Church at a ceremony in the cathedral. During the ceremony, which started with Divine Liturgy, the director of the Museum Complex of St. Isaac's Cathedral, which managed St. Sampson's Cathedral, officially handed the keys of the cathedral to Archimandrite Seraphim, noting that it was "with a feeling of deep satisfaction". The Archimandrite called the transfer a historic day and said it was the beginning of a new page in the cathedral's history, and he thanked the museum complex for preserving the cathedral.
