Boronia railway station is located on the Belgrave line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the eastern Melbourne suburb of Boronia, and it opened on 19 June 1920.

Boronia Heights College was a public secondary school in Boronia, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It has formerly had the names of Boronia Technical School and Boronia Heights Secondary College. In 2014, Boronia Heights College merged with Boronia Primary School to form Boronia K-12 College. In early 2015, the old site of "Boronia Heights College" was shut down and was undergoing demolition as of August 2015.

Ferntree Gully railway station is located on the Belgrave line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the eastern Melbourne suburb of Ferntree Gully, and opened on 5 December 1889 as Lower Ferntree Gully. It was renamed Ferntree Gully on 1 October 1962, and renamed Fern Tree Gully on 29 February 1972 before being renamed back to Ferntree Gully in May 1977.

Ferntree Gully is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges, 30 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Knox local government area. Ferntree Gully recorded a population of 27,398 at the 2021 census.The suburb is on the Belgrave railway line and it takes between 42 minutes (stopping all stations and then express service from Box Hill) to 60 minutes (all stations service) to Flinders Street, CBD. The William Angliss Public Hospital and Emergency Centre is located in Upper Ferntree Gully, approximately 2 kilometres south of Ferntree Gully. Ferntree Gully, The Basin, Boronia and Upper Ferntree Gully are the only Dandenong Ranges towns or suburbs in the City of Knox (although some parts of Upper Ferntree Gully are within the Shire of Yarra Ranges). The City of Knox is one of the few cities not broken-up during the Kennett government review of councils and had its area expanded to include parts of Upper Ferntree Gully that were previously in the Shire of Sherbrooke (now part of the Yarra Ranges Shire). Ferntree Gully and Belgrave are sister suburbs and are very closely linked in many ways. Ferntree Gully is younger than Belgrave (Belgrave being established in 1851 and Ferntree Gully in 1880). Ferntree Gully has many Eucalyptus trees (gum trees) and lies at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges. Its boundaries meet Upper Ferntree Gully, a separate but similarly named suburb with the same postcode, Boronia to the North, Scoresby to the West and Lysterfield to the South. The eastern boundary coincides with the Ferntree Gully National Park which is a National Park administered by the Federal Government. Ferntree Gully is in a high fire risk area in the vicinity of the Ferntree Gully National Park, however the majority of the suburb is considered low risk.

Bayswater is a residential and industrial suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 27 km (17 mi) east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Knox local government area. Bayswater recorded a population of 12,262 at the 2021 census.

The Swagman Restaurant was a restaurant in Ferntree Gully, Melbourne, Australia, which opened in 1972 and burnt down in 1991. The restaurant was famous in Melbourne for its long-running television commercials, cabaret shows, and smorgasbord. The Swagman was located on Burwood Highway, Ferntree Gully. It was owned by Bastiaan (Basil) and Ina De Jong. An unusually large establishment, The Swagman eventually had a capacity of 1,200 seats and covered 20,000 square metres, and was noted for attracting buses of tourists from rural and international locations, especially Japan.

The Basin Music Festival is held in March each year in the small fringe suburb/village of The Basin at the foot of Mount Dandenong, on the eastern outskirts of Melbourne, Australia. Growing out of the music found in the community, the non-profit, volunteer-run festival presents an eclectic collection of musical styles, including but not limited to rock, jazz, blues, folk, country and world music. The musical styles are decided by the interests and talents found throughout the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne and the Dandenong Ranges. In addition to the music performed in seven indoor venues (only two of which require paid admission) and The Basin Pavilion (a free outdoor stage in the park), the festival includes market stalls and food stalls, exhibitions and displays by community groups and organisations (such as the local Scouts and fire brigade), with activities for children and a very laid-back country village atmosphere.

Bayswater Secondary College is a state secondary college located in the suburb of Bayswater in eastern Melbourne, Australia.

The electoral district of Bayswater is one of the electoral districts of Victoria, Australia, for the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It covers an area of 39 square kilometres (15 sq mi) in outer eastern Melbourne, and includes the suburbs of Bayswater, Heathmont, Kilsyth South and The Basin, and parts of Bayswater North, Boronia, Ringwood and Wantirna. It lies within the Eastern Metropolitan Region of the upper house, the Legislative Council.Bayswater was created as a notionally marginal Labor seat in a redistribution for the 1992 state election. It replaced the abolished electorate of Ringwood, which had been held by Labor MP and Kirner government Minister for Community Services Kay Setches since 1982. The area had been traditionally Liberal prior to Setches' election; she had been the first Labor member to hold Ringwood. Setches contested Bayswater at the election, but was resoundingly defeated by Liberal candidate and personnel consultant Gordon Ashley in the Liberal landslide victory that year, one of several ministers to lose their seats.Ashley was easily re-elected at the 1996 election and 1999 election, but was unexpectedly defeated by Labor candidate Peter Lockwood in the Labor landslide victory at the 2002 election. Lockwood only lasted one term before being defeated by Liberal Heidi Victoria in 2006. Victoria served as Minister for the Arts, Minister for Women's Affairs and Minister for Consumer Affairs in the Napthine Ministry from 2013 to 2014. The seat was won back by Labor somewhat unexpectedly in the 2018 Victorian state election, with Jackson Taylor serving as the current Labor MP for the district.
