Sodus Township is a civil township of Berrien County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,932 at the 2010 census. There are no incorporated municipalities in the township. The unincorporated community of Sodus in the northwest of the township is its main settlement; the portion of the township just to the west is part of the Benton Harbor/St. Joseph urban area.

WSJM-FM (94.9 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Benton Harbor, Michigan and also serving nearby St. Joseph. The station broadcasts a News/Talk/Sports radio format. It is owned by Mid-West Family Broadcasting with studios on East Napier Avenue in Southwest Benton Harbor.WSJM is powered at 2200 watts and broadcasts from an antenna in Sodus Township near US-31. Its signal covers much of Michiana and can be heard as far south as South Bend, Indiana.Programming includes a local morning talk show with syndicated news and sports programs the rest of the day. The WSJM call sign was first used on AM sister station WQYQ prior to the station's switch to alternative rock in 2020.Most hours begin with an update from ABC News Radio. The station is also a partial affiliate of Fox Sports Radio. Play by play sports coverage comes from the Detroit Tigers Radio Network, Detroit Lions Radio Network, and Michigan IMG Sports Network.

WIRX (107.1 FM, "Rock 107 WIRX") is a mainstream rock radio station owned by Mid-West Family Broadcasting located in Benton Harbor, Michigan. The station's city of license is St. Joseph, Michigan broadcasting in HD from a tower at the edge of Benton Township, Michigan. The station features The Plan B Morning Show.

The Mendel Center for Arts and Technology, popularly shorted to Mendel Center, is a performing arts center located in Benton Township, Michigan on the campus of Lake Michigan College. It consists of the 1,517-seat Mainstage Theatre, the 247-seat Hanson Theatre and 20,000 square feet of meeting and special event space with seating of up to 1,200 at Grand Upton Hall. The Mainstage Theatre is used primarily for concerts, Broadway and family stage shows, graduation ceremonies and other special events. It features a 4,559-square-foot stage, a 54-seat orchestra pit, 1,097 seats in the main level and a 420-seat mezzanine that serves as a balcony. The Mainstage contains four restrooms and two concession stands, plus two coat rooms. The Mainstage is surrounded by several additional rooms including a telecommunications studio, two rehearsal halls, the Hanson Theater which is used for smaller plays, classrooms, meeting rooms and the Grand Upton Hall which is used for trade shows, conventions and other events and is divisible into five rooms. There is an extra coat room near Grand Upton Hall.

Lake Michigan College is a public community college in Berrien County, Michigan. The main campus is in Benton Township, Michigan with regional campuses in Niles and South Haven. The Welch Center for Wine & Viticulture opened on the main campus in 2019.

Buckhorn is an unincorporated community in Berrien County, in the U.S. state of Michigan.

The Orchards Mall is an enclosed shopping mall near Benton Harbor, Michigan. Opened in 1979, the mall originally featured Sears and JCPenney as its anchor stores, with Elder-Beerman (later in 2011 known as Carson's) being added in the 1990s. All three anchors have vacated in the 2010s, as has much of the mall's interior, with only three businesses remaining. The mall is owned by Durga LLC.

Royalton Township is a civil township of Berrien County in the U.S. state of Michigan, a few miles southeast of the city of St. Joseph. The population was 4,766 at the 2010 census, up from 3,888 at the 2000 census. There are no incorporated municipalities in the township, but portions are considered to be part of the Benton Harbor/St. Joseph urban area. The unincorporated communities of Hollywood, Scottdale, Arden, and Buckhorn are within the township. Royalton Township was organized in 1835 and originally included portions of Lincoln Charter Township, Sodus Township, and St. Joseph Charter Township.

Benton Charter Township is a charter township of Berrien County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the population was 14,374.

Yellow Creek is a stream in Berrien County, in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is a tributary to Blue Creek. Yellow Creek was so named on account of the yellowish hue of the water.

Millburg is an unincorporated community and, as of 2019, a census-designated place in Benton Charter Township near the boundary with Bainbridge Township in Berrien County, Michigan, US. It is situated several miles east of Benton Harbor and just east of the intersection of I-94 and I-196/US 31. It was the site of the first settlement within the township. Settler Jehiel Enos built a saw mill and a grist mill there in 1834 and helped plat the settlement the following year. Per the 2020 Census, the population was 578.

WQYQ (1400 AM) is a radio station broadcasting an alternative rock format. Licensed to St. Joseph, Michigan, it first began broadcasting in 1956 as WSJM. Programming is simulcast on a local translator on 106.1 FM (W291DK). Through the late 1980s and early 1990s, WSJM was a Full-Service Adult Contemporary radio station, with a mixture of pop and oldies music, local personalities, network and local newscasts, evening talk programming (Bruce Williams and Larry King) and play-by-play sports. For many years, the station's slogan was "The Spirit of the Southwest." Before WSJM's 1984 format change to Full-Service A/C, it had a country music format called "The Best in the Country." WSJM started simulcasting on 94.9 FM in early 2008. "The Coast", which had been on that frequency, then moved to 98.3 FM. The WCSY call letters were moved from 98.3 FM to 103.7 FM as part of this three station swap. The WSJM-FM call sign were temporarily placed on 98.3 FM until all moves were complete. "The Coast" changed call letters a few weeks later from "WCNF" to "WCXT". In August 2014, WSJM switched from a news/talk format (simulcast with WSJM-FM 94.9, which continued as a news/talk station). The programming was a mix of Fox Sports Radio, regional sports talk, and local and national play-by-play.On July 20, 2020, WSJM switched from sports to alternative rock, exclusively only mentioning the frequency of the FM translator station. The station changed its call sign to WQYQ at the same time.
