Merritt Building

The May Company Building on Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles, a.k.a. Hamburgers/May Company Department Store and the May Department Store Building, later known as the California Broadway Trade Center, was the flagship store of the May Company California department store chain. It is a contributing property to the NRHP-listed Broadway Theater and Commercial District.

Singer Building, also known as Singer Sewing Building and Allied Arts Building, is a historic seven story high-rise located at 806 S. Broadway, between the Tower and Rialto theaters in the Broadway Theater District in the historic core of downtown Los Angeles.

It opened in 1913, has 11 stories, and was designed in Beaux-Arts architectural style by the firm of Morgan, Walls & Morgan. Alfred F. Rosenheim designed its interiors. As of 2024 the venue is again closed, but has a capacity of 2,000. The Globe opened in 1913 as the Morosco Theatre with a seating capacity of 782, used for full-scale live dramatic theater, and built for impresario Oliver Morosco. The Garland Building was office space, forming a single building with the theater The Globe was converted into a movie theater during the Great Depression, and later on showed Spanish-language films until the 1980s It was converted into a swap meet in 1987. As of June 2014, the space was being remodeled as an entertainment venue The restored marquee was relit June 24, 2014. and served during the late 2010s and early 2020s as a multipurpose space for music, theatrical events and films, also as a nightclub where D.J.s like Questlove performed, with a capacity of 2,000. The Globe was again permanently closed as of 2023.

The Platt Building is a 1927 highrise at 834 South Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles. The Gothic Revival design was by architects Walker & Eisen. The firm also designed The Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills. The building was originally the headquarters of the Platt Music Corporation.The Platt Building is one of the Anjac Fashion Buildings, and the National Register of Historic Places nomination form for the Broadway Theater and Commercial District uses this name to designate the building. Anjac is a portmanteau of the names Annette and Jack Needleman, real estate owners who in 1964 began buying properties in the Fashion District and surrounding area.

Rialto Theatre, formerly Quinn's Rialto Theatre and Grauman’s Rialto, is a historic former movie theater located at 812 S. Broadway in the Broadway Theater District in Los Angeles.

The Garfield Building is a thirteen-story Art Deco style historic structure in Los Angeles, California. Designed by American architect Claud Beelman, construction lasted from 1928 to 1930. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Orpheum Theatre at 842 S. Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles opened on February 15, 1926, as the fourth and final Los Angeles venue for the Orpheum vaudeville circuit. After a $3 million renovation, started in 1989, it is the most restored of the historical movie palaces in the city. Three previous theatres also bore the name Orpheum before the one at 842 Broadway was the final one with that moniker. The Orpheum has a Beaux Arts facade designed by movie theater architect G. Albert Lansburgh and has a Mighty Wurlitzer organ, installed in 1928, that is one of three pipe organs remaining in Southern California.The Orpheum theatres are named for the Greek mythological figure, Orpheus.

The former Majestic Theatre at 845 South Broadway in Los Angeles, California was originally built as Asher Hamburger’s Majestic Theatre when it opened in November 1908. It had 1 screen and 1,600 seats. In 1933 it was closed and dismantled.
