The Frank R. Lillie House is a historic house at 5801 South Kenwood Avenue, on the campus of the University of Chicago on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. Built in 1904 to a design by Pond and Pond, it was home for many years to Frank R. Lillie (1870–1947), a pioneering embryologist and influential supporter of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976, it is now used by the university as office space.

55th–56th–57th Street is a commuter rail station in Hyde Park, Chicago that serves the Metra Electric Line north to Millennium Station and south to University Park, Blue Island, and South Chicago; and the South Shore Line to Gary and South Bend, Indiana. The South Shore Line calls the station 57th Street. It is the closest station to the Museum of Science and Industry, and also serves the residential neighborhood adjoining the University of Chicago. As of 2018, the station is the 39th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 1,133 weekday boardings.The South Shore Line began stopping at 57th Street on October 16, 1966, at noon. Prior to this, the South Shore Line had stopped at 53rd Street. The switch was made to better serve the University of Chicago and the Museum of Science and Industry.This station, and the adjacent 53rd Street station, were rebuilt in 2002 with concrete platforms to replace wooden platforms built in the 1920s.Until November 2014 (when the staffed station closed), this was the only station along the route outside of Downtown Chicago's two main stations that had a staffed ticket office, as many express trains on both lines stop at the station and it is the South Side's main station.

The University Apartments, also known as the University Park Condominiums, are a pair of ten-story towers in Chicago, Illinois designed by I. M. Pei and Araldo Cossutta. The project was part of a city initiative to revitalize the residential development in Hyde Park just north of the University of Chicago. Within the Hyde Park neighborhood, they are colloquially known as "Monoxide Island."

59th Street/University of Chicago is a railway station that serves the Metra Electric Line in Chicago, Illinois. The station is on 59th street, originally the University of Chicago's southern border, and the Midway Plaisance. Trains run between Millennium Station downtown and University Park, Blue Island, and the Chicago neighborhood of South Chicago. As of 2018, the station is the 63rd busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 812 weekday boardings. Before the 55th–56th–57th Street station to the immediate north was rebuilt into a major station in 2002, all express trains served 59th Street and the station had a staffed ticket window. The majority of University of Chicago and Hyde Park traffic is now served by the 55th–56th–57th Street station; only some express trains stop at 59th Street.

The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools (also known as Lab, Lab Schools, or U-High, abbreviated UCLS) is a private, co-educational, day Pre-school and K-12 school in Chicago, Illinois. The Consortium on Financial Systems and Poverty Archived 2011-07-25 at the Wayback Machine (CFSP) is a private economic research consortium dedicated to studying the interaction of financial systems and poverty, using a variety of economic approaches in a range of developing countries. The CFSP was established in 2009 by a grant to the University of Chicago from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, with Robert M. Townsend (MIT) as Principal Investigator, and economists Juliano Assuncao (PUC-Rio), Abhijit Banerjee (MIT), Francisco Buera (UCLA), Douglas Diamond (Booth School of Business), Weerachart Kilenthong (University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce), Gabriel de Abreu Madeira (University of São Paulo), Roberto Rigobon (MIT Sloan School of Management), Kenneth Singleton (Stanford), Tavneet Suri (MIT), Christopher Udry (Northwestern University), Christopher Woodruff (UCSD) as members.The CFSP shares members with several other organizations that work in development economics, including the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab, the Financial Access Initiative, and Innovations for Poverty Action. In contrast to these organizations, however, which tend to focus on rigorous randomized evaluations to generate policy recommendations, the CFSP attempts to connect traditional approaches in developmental economics to a wider range of approaches and models, including general equilibrium models applied to both macro and regional financial systems.

Solstice on the Park is a residential building in Chicago designed by architect Jeanne Gang and completed in 2018 in the Hyde Park Community area.

The Neubauer Collegium for Culture and Society is a collaborative research center located on the campus of the University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.

The Institute of Politics (IOP) is an extracurricular nonpartisan political institute associated with the College of the University of Chicago and the Harris School of Public Policy designed to inspire students to pursue careers in politics and public service. Following the University of Chicago's longstanding tradition of wide-ranging political debate and freedom of expression, the IOP seeks to convene a diverse array of speakers, students, and leaders from a variety of backgrounds for the edification of its student body.

The 57th Street Meeting of Friends is a Chicago meeting of the Society of Friends (Quakers). It has convened since at least 1916. It originated at the close of the Civil War with 40 members who "commenced regular meetings on first days at 11 o'clock" and "met in the Y.M.C.A. rooms in the First Methodist Church". In 1993, Michael Szenberg commended the meeting as "very congenial".

The Arthur H. Compton House is a historic house at 5637 South Woodlawn Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. Built in 1905 and designed by architects Holabird & Roche, it was the residence of physicist Arthur Compton (1892–1962) from 1928 until 1945. Compton discovered the Compton Effect in 1923, proving that light has both a particle and a wave aspect. Compton received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1927 for this discovery. His house was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976.
