Tito's Tacos is a taco stand in Culver City, California. Opened in 1959, it is known for its American-style hard-shell taco and burritos. Considered a Los Angeles-area icon, the restaurant was named to Fox News' list of the ten best tacos in America in 2014, and was ranked #1 on The Daily Meal's "Top 35 Burritos in America" list in 2015.

Culver City High School is the main public high school of the Culver City Unified School District (CCUSD) in Culver City, California. It was established in 1951. The school's colors are blue and silver, and the mascot is the centaur. As of 2022, its enrollment was roughly 2,200. Culver City High School is recognized as a California Distinguished School, earning the honor in 2005. The Robert Frost Auditorium is located within the school grounds of Culver City High School. The district, and therefore the high school's attendance boundary, includes Culver City and a portion of Los Angeles.

Rancho La Ballona was a 13,920-acre (56.3 km2) Mexican land grant in the present-day Westside region of Los Angeles County, Southern California. The rancho was confirmed by Alta California Governor Juan Alvarado in 1839, to Ygnacio and Augustin Machado and Felipe and Tomas Talamantes. The Machados and Talamanteses had already been given a Spanish concession to graze their cattle on this land in 1819. Many Machado and Talamantes family members of the late 19th century and early 20th century are buried at the north edge of the former Mexican Rancho La Ballona at a cemetery on Pico Boulevard, which was known as the La Ballona Cemetery, later in 1876 as the Ballona Township Cemetery, and then as the Woodlawn Cemetery of Santa Monica in the early 20th century. The grant stretched from inland (near the present day San Diego Freeway) to Santa Monica Bay, from present day Mar Vista, Westside Village, Palms, and Culver City; northwest to Pico Boulevard and the Ocean Park district of Santa Monica; and south along Ballona Creek through Venice, the Ballona Wetlands, and present day Marina del Rey, Playa Vista, and Playa Del Rey. Neighboring ranches included Rancho San Vicente y Santa Monica, Rancho Rincón de los Bueyes, Rancho Aguaje de la Centinela, and Rancho Sausal Redondo.

Culver City is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 40,779. In the 1920s, the city became a center for film and later television production, best known as the home of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios from 1924 to 1986. From 1932 to 1986, it was the headquarters for the Hughes Aircraft Company. National Public Radio West and Sony Pictures Entertainment have headquarters in the city. The city was named after its founder, Harry Culver. It is mostly surrounded by the city of Los Angeles, but also shares a border with the unincorporated area of Ladera Heights.

The Sony Pictures Studios is an American television and film studio complex located in Culver City, California at 10202 West Washington Boulevard and bounded by Culver Boulevard (south), Washington Boulevard (north), Overland Avenue (west) and Madison Avenue (east). Founded in 1912, the facility is currently owned by Sony Pictures and houses the division's film studios, such as Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures, and Screen Gems. The complex was the original studios of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer from 1924 to 1986 and Lorimar-Telepictures from 1986 to 1989. In addition to films shot at the facility, several television shows have been broadcast live or taped there. The lot, which is open to the public for daily studio tours, currently houses a total of sixteen separate sound stages.

Dr. Paul Carlson Park, or, more commonly, Carlson Park, is a small park located in the Carlson Park neighborhood of Culver City, California. It is linear in shape and intended for passive recreational use, featuring open grassy spaces as well as picnic and barbecue facilities. It is named for Dr. Paul Carlson, a former resident of Culver City whose martyrdom in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 1964 attracted national attention. In the summer, Culver City Public Theater gives free public theatrical performances in the park.

Palms (originally "The Palms") is a community in the Westside region of Los Angeles, California, founded in 1886 and the oldest neighborhood annexed to the city, in 1915. The 1886 tract was marketed as an agricultural and vacation community. Today it is a primarily residential area, with many apartment buildings, ribbons of commercial zoning and a single-family residential area in its northwest corner. As of the 2000 census the population of Palms was 42,545.

St. Augustine Catholic Church is a Catholic church located in Culver City, California, part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The church is located across the street from the Sony Pictures Studios, previously the MGM Studios.

Established in 1926, St. Augustine's Catholic School is a comprehensive Pre-K to 8th grade Western Association of Schools and Colleges accredited institution located in Culver City, California, USA. It was founded by the Daughters Of Mary and Joseph, an order of nuns, and to this day is connected to St. Augustine Church in Culver City. It competes regularly in the St. Monica's Learning Fair and the Academic Decathlon.

The Lawrence and Martha Joseph Residence and Apartments, often called the Hobbit Houses, are a landmarked example of the Storybook style of architecture in Los Angeles, California. The informal name "Hobbit Houses" is due to their supposed resemblance to the architecture of Tolkien's Shire.Some of the "Fantasy Revival" architectural details include "odd-shaped windows with leaded glass, rustic stone hewn walls, a rough cut cupola, and sloping, uneven roof tiles.”The builder, Lawrence Joseph, worked for Walt Disney Studios and Lockheed aerospace company, and built the apartment complex in his spare time. An expert sailor, Joseph included nautical elements in many aspects of the interior design, including galley-style kitchens and "vertical-grain boat planking ... in eccentric circles on the floors".According to one source, "The property boasts of having no door knobs and no 90 degree angles anywhere inside the homes." Rather than door knobs, "Doors open with boat latches and levers, all fashioned by Joseph. Jauntily knotted ropes serve as pulls on many of the drawers."One architectural historian working with the Los Angeles Conservancy told the Los Angeles Times, "It's almost like a folk art environment along the lines of the Watts Towers."The property consists of seven apartments spread across a former single-family residence and two additional two-unit buildings constructed by Joseph.In 2014, The Washington Post reported on a rental listing for a place in the original building: The main house features two bedrooms and one bath, plus a huge bonus room that could be an office or den. The living room that is situated around an original stone fireplace features stained glass windows, nautical details and a bar that is perfect for entertaining. The quaint kitchen comes with a mini-fridge that is built in. two bedrooms sit behind a wooden plank door and offer great sunlight, and a view of the fountain and pond at the front of the house. The sparkling green tiled bathroom features a tub/shower combo with a large vanity and great custom built ins. The house also features a third bonus room off of the kitchen that could easily be used as an extra bedroom or entertaining space. After Joseph died in 1991, Martha became the sole owner of the property until she died in 2004; Martha "donated an easement on the complex to the Los Angeles Conservancy" to keep the property intact.

Camp Latham was a temporary United States Army tent camp in Los Angeles County, California extant from fall 1861 to fall 1862 in the military District of Southern California during the American Civil War. Camp Latham was located on the south bank of Ballona Creek, approximately .75 mi (1.21 km) southwest of what is now called Culver City station. Short-lived Camp Kellogg was located nearby, just north across the creek.
