Beauvais is a railway station located in Beauvais in the Oise department, France. TER Hauts-de-France trains connect the station to Le Tréport-Mers, Creil and Paris-Nord. The Neo-medieval station building was constructed by Compagnie du Nord in brick and concrete in 1860. The line to Paris is electrified with an alternating current running 25 kV-50 Hz. Other lines run on diesel.

Beauvais (US: boh-VAY, French: [bovɛ] ; Picard: Bieuvais) is a town and commune in northern France, and prefecture of the Oise département, in the Hauts-de-France region, 75 kilometres (47 miles) north of Paris. The commune of Beauvais had a population of 56,020 as of 2016, making it the most populous town in the Oise department, and third most populous in Picardy. Together with its suburbs and satellite towns, the metropolitan area of Beauvais has a population of 128,020. The region around Beauvais is called the Beauvaisis.

Jeanne Laisné, also known as Jeanne Fourquet in the 16th century and better known as Jeanne Hachette is an emblematic figure in the history of the French city of Beauvais' resistance to the siege laid by Charles the Bold, Duke of Burgundy. She is said to have helped to repel a Burgundian attack on the town of Beauvais with a hatchet and, in popular history, has been elevated to the rank of French heroine. She was born in Beauvais, around 1454, and died on an unknown date. The details of her life and even the fact of her existence, have been the subject of debate among historians, although several contemporaneous documents refer to her existence.

The Cathedral of Saint Peter of Beauvais (French: Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Beauvais) is a Roman Catholic church in the northern town of Beauvais, Oise, France. It is the seat of the Bishop of Beauvais, Noyon and Senlis. The cathedral is in the Gothic style, and consists of a 13th-century choir, with an apse and seven polygonal apsidal chapels reached by an ambulatory, joined to a 16th-century transept. It has the highest Gothic choir in the world: 48.5 metres (159 ft) under vault. From 1569 to 1573 the cathedral of Beauvais was, with its tower of 153 m (502 ft), the highest human construction of the world. Its designers had the ambition to make it the largest gothic cathedral in France ahead of Amiens. Victim of two collapses, one in the 13th century, the other in the 16th century, it remains unfinished today; only the choir and the transept have been built. The planned nave of the cathedral was never constructed. The remnant of the previous 10th-century Romanesque cathedral, known as the Basse Œuvre ("Lower Work"), still occupies the intended site of the nave.

The Communauté d'agglomération du Beauvaisis is a communauté d'agglomération located in the Oise department and in the Hauts-de-France region of France. Its seat is in the town Beauvais. It was created on 1 January 2017 by merger of the former Communauté d'agglomération du Beauvaisis with the Communauté de communes rurales du Beauvaisis, and was expanded with 9 communes from the Communauté de communes de l'Oise Picarde in January 2018. Its area is 539.0 km2. Its population was 103,934 in 2020, of which 56,889 in Beauvais proper.

The Diocese of Beauvais, Noyon, and Senlis (Latin: Dioecesis Bellovacensis, Noviomensis et Silvanectensis; French: Diocèse de Beauvais, Noyon et Senlis) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in France. The diocese encompasses the department of Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France. The diocese is a suffragan of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Reims. The current bishop is Jacques Benoit-Gonnin, appointed in 2010.

Saint-Étienne Church is a Roman Catholic parish church on rue de l'Étamine in the French city of Beauvais. It was founded in the late 3rd century by Firmin of Amiens and – though its original dedicatee is unknown – it was long dedicated to Saint Vaast d'Arras, with a chapter existing under this title from 1072 to 1742. The present church dates to the 12th century, but even before this was begun it was at the centre of medieval town life and one of the most importrant parishes in the city despite being outside the episcopal city. Its nave and transepts are Romanesque other than the first two spans of the nave (rebuilt after a late 12th century fire) and the east walls of the transept (largely rebuilt in the 16th century. The nave is on three levels with a triforium. The ogive vaults seem to have been begun around 1120, but it is thought the vaulted Romanesque choir was completed before this date. Well understood from 1950s excavations, the Romanesque choir was demolished sometime between 1500 and 1525 to make room for a new one in Flamboyant Gothic, rapidly given stained glass windows which survived the French Revolution and are the most notable feature of the church. The church was made a monument historique on 25 April 1846 and a restoration began soon afterwards, but this and subsequent attempts were rarely completed, with the building's overall state getting worse and worse until a general restoration of the nave early in the 20th century. The choir was already a near-ruin by the time of its bombing on 8 and 9 June 1940 and was finally fully restored after 1945.

The Parish Church of Our Lady of the Basse Œuvre of Beauvais (French Église Notre-Dame-de-la-Basse-Œuvre de Beauvais) is a church at the west end of Beauvais Cathedral dating to the 10th century. It is the western end of a much longer church which had been Beauvais's cathedral, and was built in the form of a Roman basilica, a style which still characterized the Carolingian era. The name Basse Œuvre ("Lower Work") dates from the 13th century, and distinguishes it from the Nouvel-Œuvre ("New Work"), the present 13th century Gothic cathedral. It was classed as a historic monument in the list of 1840. The 21 archaeological digs of Émile Chami highlighted this monument.

Stade Pierre Brisson is a multi-use stadium in Beauvais, France. It is used mostly for football matches and serves as the home stadium for AS Beauvais Oise. The stadium is able to hold 10,178 spectators.
