The El Paso Paso del Norte (PDN) Port of Entry is a crossing of the United States–Mexico border, connecting the U.S. city of El Paso, Texas with the Mexican city of Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. It is among the busiest border crossings between the two countries: more than 10 million people enter the U.S. from Mexico each year at this location. The PDN Port of Entry is located at the Paso del Norte International Bridge, and is limited to northbound non-commercial traffic, although pedestrians may also cross the bridge in the southbound direction.Bridges between El Paso and Ciudad Juárez have existed at this location for over 250 years, and they have been rebuilt many times due to floods, expansion, and international treaties. The PDN is sometimes called the Santa Fe bridge, because its predecessor (prior to 1967) emptied traffic onto Santa Fe Street immediately to the west. Approximately 2,000 trains enter the U.S. each year on an adjacent rail bridge. Streetcar traffic also once entered the U.S. on the Paso del Norte Bridge, but that service ended in 1974.The PDN Port of Entry ranks second only to the San Ysidro Port of Entry in the number of pedestrians entering the U.S. from Mexico each year.

The Paso del Norte International Bridge is an international bridge which crosses the Rio Grande (Río Bravo) connecting the United States-Mexico border cities of El Paso, Texas, and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. The bridge is also known as "Paso del Norte Bridge", "Santa Fe Street Bridge", "Puente Benito Juárez", "Puente Paso del Norte" and "Puente Juárez-Santa Fe". The Paso del Norte International Bridge is a four-lane bridge for northbound non-commercial traffic only. The bridge was constructed in 1967. The American side of the bridge is owned and operated by the City of El Paso.On March 26, 2019, dozens of illegal immigrants were captured by United States Customs and Border Protection agents, who had insufficient space for them in local holding facilities. So they erected chainlink fencing and concertina wire under the bridge to construct a "transitional shelter" to detain them. As of March 30, hundreds of immigrants were sleeping on dirt and rocks, with mylar blankets, portable toilets and plastic portable sinks.By mid-June, conditions had worsened, with between 100 and 150 detainees reporting most have been held for over a month, without being allowed to bathe or change clothing, in temperatures exceeding 100 °F (38 °C).

Duranguito (or Barrio Duranguito) is a historic neighborhood in El Paso, Texas. It is located in the greater Union Plaza district and is located on the south side of Downtown El Paso near the neighborhoods of El Segundo Barrio and Chihuahuita. It is considered to be one of the oldest neighborhoods in El Paso, and it officially became an organized residential area in 1859. The neighborhood houses a number a historic buildings, the oldest dating back to 1879. It is often considered to be the birthplace of the city of El Paso. This area has a rich history ranging from the Mexican Revolution on, but recently regained prominence in 2016 when the El Paso city government voted to demolish the neighborhood in favor of a new arena. Controversy, debate, and lawsuits have ensued since the city proposed the demolition, and historical preservationists and local activists have fought against city officials and property owners to oppose the new arena and have instead proposed for the neighborhood to be included in a new historical district.

The El Paso Stanton Street Port of Entry, located at the Good Neighbor International Bridge is limited to processing passenger vehicles that are enrolled in the SENTRI program. It is open from 6:00 AM - midnight weekdays, and 8:00 AM - midnight Saturdays and Sundays. A bridge has existed at this location since approximately 1896, and US Customs services began soon afterward. The bridge was rebuilt several times, periodically damaged by floods. Since its reconstruction in 1967 as part of the Chamizal Treaty between the US and Mexico, the Good Neighbor International Bridge (known locally as the Stanton Street Bridge) was dedicated to southbound traffic. In 1998, the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service and U.S. Customs Service chose this bridge as the best location to set up a dedicated commuter lane to relieve cross-border congestion in the busy El Paso-Ciudad Juarez metroplex. The General Services Administration constructed a port of entry on available land just west of the bridge and it was opened to pre-enrolled northbound traffic in September 1999.

The Alhambra Theatre, also known as the Palace Theatre, is a building in El Paso, Texas. Opened on August 1 1914, the building was designed by architect Henry C. Trost in the Spanish Colonial Revival style with a Moorish theme, preceding spread of the Moorish Revival style of the 1920s. The building cost $150,000. It was prepared to serve either as a playhouse for live theater or as a movie house, and included a large organ to be played with silent movies of the day.

The Montgomery Building is the last surviving false-front structure and the oldest existing business building in the City of El Paso, Texas.

On 27 March 2023, a fire occurred at an immigration detention center in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, near the border with the United States. The fire killed 40 people and left 27 others seriously injured. According to Vice interviewees, prison officials demanded bribes from migrants to release them and avoid deportation. The fire was allegedly started by inmates when they set fire to their mattresses to protest their detention conditions and impending deportation. CCTV security footage obtained by the press shows INM personnel fleeing the spreading flames and smoke while leaving the detainees locked in their cell.

Abraham Chavez Theatre, known simply as the Chavez Theatre, is a 2,500-seat concert hall located in El Paso, Texas. It is adjacent to the Williams Convention Center. Its exterior resembles a sombrero and features a three-story glass main entrance. The Abraham Chavez Theatre is named after Maestro Abraham Chavez who was the longtime conductor of the El Paso Symphony. Famous people who have performed here include Gabriel Iglesias, Aaron Velasco, Tim Black, Hunter Downing, Erik Carvajal and Joshua Ryan. Inside, the theatre has a 5,000-square-foot (460 m2) lobby and a 40-by-56-foot stage as well as 14 dressing rooms. The theater's seating is in three levels. There is also a meeting room adjacent to the theater. Events held at Chavez Theatre include concerts, Broadway shows, graduation ceremonies, performances of the El Paso Symphony Orchestra, and other special events. After the death of Quinton Stralzburg in the main auditorium, stories of evil spirits and demons have become uncommon among the custodial staff.The theatre may become the designated home of the Mexican-American Cultural Center in El Paso, though the site is in need of "extensive repairs," according to El Paso, Inc. in 2016.

Judson F. Williams Convention Center, better known as the El Paso Civic Center, is located on Santa Fe Street in downtown El Paso, Texas, adjacent to the Abraham Chavez Theatre. It was expanded in 2002 and now features 80,000 square feet (7,000 m2) of columnless exhibit space (divided into three halls) with seating for up to 8,000 people. The convention center also has three lobbies totalling 38,300 square feet (3,560 m2), including a 23,000-square-foot (2,100 m2) main lobby, plus 14,900 square feet (1,380 m2) of meeting space. Williams Convention Center's ceiling height is 28 feet (9 m); the center has excellent acoustics for many conventions and concerts held at the center. Trade shows and other special events also held at Williams Convention Center. The convention center is also home to the Sun Bowl Fan Fiesta.

The State National Bank is a historic building in El Paso, Texas. It was built in 1921 for the State National Bank, El Paso's oldest bank founded four decades earlier. It was built on the site of a former building for the same bank completed in 1881, which was El Paso's "first real building." The 1921 building was designed by Trost & Trost, and its construction cost $165,000. With "the latest technological developments", it cost $250,000. The interior was a single lofty room with roof supported by steel girders that eliminated need for interior columns. The bank moved into the building in January 1922. It was expanded by renting adjacent property 10 years later, which was annexed permanently in 1942. It was further expanded to the south in 1948.The building has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since September 24, 1980.
