The cantons of Strasbourg are administrative divisions of the Bas-Rhin department, in northeastern France. Since the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015, the city of Strasbourg is subdivided into 6 cantons. Their seat is in Strasbourg.

Eurométropole de Strasbourg is the métropole, an intercommunal structure, centred on the city of Strasbourg. It is located in the Bas-Rhin department, in the Grand Est region, northeastern France. It was created in January 2015, replacing the previous Communauté urbaine de Strasbourg, and covers that part of the Strasbourg metropolitan area that lies in France. Its area is 337.6 km2. Its population was 511,552 in 2020, of which 290,576 is in Strasbourg proper. The annual budget of the métropole was €1.897 billion in 2020.

The arrondissement of Strasbourg-Campagne is a former arrondissement of France in the Bas-Rhin department in the Alsace region. It was disbanded at the 2015 arrondissements reform, and its communes were assigned to the arrondissements of Saverne, Strasbourg, Haguenau-Wissembourg and Molsheim. It had 104 communes, and its population was 284,815 (2012).

The arrondissement of Strasbourg-Ville is a former arrondissement of France in the Bas-Rhin department in the Alsace region. In 2015 it was merged into the new arrondissement of Strasbourg. It had 1 commune, and its population was 274,394 (2012).

The Musée alsacien (Alsatian museum) is a museum in Strasbourg in the Bas-Rhin department of France. It opened on 11 May 1907 and is dedicated to all aspects of (mostly rural) daily life in pre-industrial and early industrial Alsace. It contains over 5000 exhibits and is notable for the reconstruction of the interiors of several traditional houses. It also features a rich collection of artifacts documenting the everyday life of Alsatian Jews. The museum is located in several Renaissance timber framed houses on the Quai Saint-Nicolas, on the banks of the Ill river. In 1917 it was bought by the city of Strasbourg. Another, smaller, Musée alsacien exists in the city of Haguenau, 30 kilometers north of Strasbourg.

The Musée historique (Historical museum) de la ville de Strasbourg is a museum in Strasbourg in the Bas-Rhin department of France. It is located in the Renaissance building of the former slaughterhouse (Grande boucherie) and is dedicated to the tumultuous history of the city from the early Middle Ages until the contemporary period.

The Cabinet des estampes et des dessins (Print room) is a museum in Strasbourg in the Bas-Rhin department of France. It is dedicated to the municipal collection of prints (estampes) and drawings (dessins), but also woodcuts and lithographs, covering a period of five centuries from the 14th to the 19th. The municipal collections of graphic art since 1870 are displayed in the Musée d'art moderne et contemporain and in the Tomi Ungerer Museum. The collection was founded in 1890 by Wilhelm von Bode during his rebuilding and reorganisation of the city's art collections. It includes works by Albrecht Dürer, Albrecht Altdorfer, Hans Baldung, Hendrik Goltzius, Antonio del Pollaiuolo, Honoré Daumier, Philip James de Loutherbourg and the Master of the Drapery Studies. The Cabinet des estampes et des dessins was estimated to house 200,291 pieces as of 31 December 2015, and was notably enriched in 2019 by a major donation of 33 drawings and 5 engravings by artists such as Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo, Jean-Honoré Fragonard, Jacques Callot, and Rembrandt.

Saint Nicholas Church, Strasbourg (French: Église Saint Nicolas) is a small Gothic church in Strasbourg, France. Jean Calvin led services and preached at this church in 1538.Albert Schweitzer was the pastor of the church from 1900 to 1913 and used to play the organ there.The Church no longer functions as a parish church, due to the decline of the population of the centre of Strasbourg. Today it is used by a Charismatic group called "Renouveau Saint Nicholas". The charismatic group, led by the pastors Daniel Hebert and Pastor Ringerbach, began renting the church for their Sunday services in 1975. However, the Church remains affiliated to the Protestant Church of Augsburg Confession of Alsace and Lorraine (EPCAAL).

The Musée de l'Œuvre Notre-Dame (or Frauenhausmuseum in German) is the city of Strasbourg's museum for Upper Rhenish fine arts and decorative arts, dating from the early Middle Ages until 1681. The museum is famous for its collection of original sculptures, glass windows, architectural fragments, as well as the building plans of Strasbourg Cathedral. It has a considerable collection of works by Peter Hemmel von Andlau, Niclas Gerhaert van Leyden, Nikolaus Hagenauer, Ivo Strigel, Konrad Witz, Hans Baldung and Sebastian Stoskopff.

In December 2000, an al-Qaeda-linked plot to bomb the Strasbourg Christmas market, at the feet of the Strasbourg Cathedral, on New Year's Eve was discovered. The plot was foiled by French and German police after a terrorist network based in Frankfurt, Germany, the "Frankfurt group", was unravelled. A total of fourteen people were convicted as part of the plot; four in Germany and ten in France, including the operational leader, Mohammed Bensakhria (a.k.a. "Meliani"), thought to be a European deputy to Osama bin Laden. The alleged mastermind of the plot was thought to have been Abu Doha, who was detained in the United Kingdom.

The Neubau, also known as Le Neue Bau or Neuer Bau(German for "new building") is a historic building located on the Grande Île in the city center of Strasbourg, in the French department of the Bas-Rhin. It has been classified as a Monument historique since 1995.The Neubau is the most representative example of Renaissance architecture in Strasbourg and is, as such, a major landmark of the old town.
