Centro Universitario de Aviación (Spanish: Matanza/Aeroclub Universitario, ICAO: SADZ) is an airport serving La Matanza Partido, a southern district in the Greater Buenos Aires conurbation. The airport is located within a bend of the Matanza River in the partido. The airport was begun by the Centro Universitario de Aviación in 1929 as a center for pilot training.Approaches to Runway 27 and Runway 35 are over residential areas, and both runways have displaced thresholds, not included in runway length.The Ezeiza VOR-DME (Ident: EZE) is located 6.1 nautical miles (11 km) south-southeast of the airport.

Villa Riachuelo is a barrio or neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Located at the southernmost end of the city, Villa Riachuelo is bordered by the barrios of Villa Lugano to the north and Villa Soldati to the northeast, the Buenos Aires Province localities of Villa Fiorito and Lanús Oeste to the southeast and Ciudad Madero to the southwest. It is home to the Autódromo Juan y Oscar Gálvez, home of the Argentine Grand Prix until 1998, and the Puente de la Noria which crosses the Riachuelo River.

Tapiales is a town in Argentina. It is located in La Matanza Partido and forms part of Greater Buenos Aires. Tapiales had a population of 15,158 at the 2001 census. Tapiales was established in 1902 by Agustín Elía along the recently inaugurated Buenos Aires Western Railway (Spanish: Ferrocarril Oeste de Buenos Aires). Elía, who had purchased the land from the estate of the former Vice President, Francisco Bernabé Madero, sold the property in 1906 to La Franco Argentina, a prominent Buenos Aires real estate company. Chacra de Los Tapiales ("adobe wall ranch"), built by the Altolaguirre family in the early 19th century, gave the settlement its name and remains as a town landmark.La Franco Argentina, in turn, sold the land in lots to investors and prospective homeowners, and in 1908, the railway, in which La Franco Argentina owned a stake, inaugurated a station at the site, as well as a rail yard. The town was divided geographically by the opening of the Riccheri Freeway in 1952, built to connect Buenos Aires to the recently inaugurated Ministro Pistarini International Airport 8 mi (13 km) to the southwest. Tapiales grew significantly in the subsequent decade with the construction from 1968 to 1971 of a 900-unit cooperative housing complex by El Hogar Obrero, a leading firm in the Argentine cooperative movement. It was later chosen as the site for the Buenos Aires Central Market; the nation's largest wholesale market, it was inaugurated in Tapiales in 1984 to replace the Abasto de Buenos Aires and is the town's largest employer.

National Route A002 Autopista Teniente General Pablo Riccheri connects Avenida General Paz with Ministro Pistarini International Airport (Ezeiza).

The Ezeiza massacre (Spanish pronunciation: [eˈsejsa]) took place on June 20, 1973, at Puente 12, the intersection of General Ricchieri freeway (the Ezeiza Airport access) and Camino de Cintura (provincial route 4), some 10 km from Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Peronist masses, including many young people, had gathered there to acclaim Juan Perón's definitive return from an 18-year exile in Spain. The police estimated three and a half million people had gathered at the airport. In his plane, Perón was accompanied by president Héctor Cámpora, a representative of Peronism's left wing, who had come to power on May 25, 1973, amid popular euphoria and a period of political turmoil. Cámpora was opposed to the Peronist right wing, declaring during his first speech that "the spilled blood will not be negotiated".From Perón's platform, camouflaged snipers from the right-wing of Peronism opened fire on the crowd. The left-wing Peronist Youth and the Montoneros were targeted and trapped. At least 13 bodies were subsequently identified, and 365 were injured during the massacre.According to Clarín newspaper, the real number is thought to be much higher. No official investigation was ever performed to confirm these higher estimates.

The Autódromo de Buenos Aires Oscar y Juan Gálvez is a 45,000 capacity motor racing circuit in Buenos Aires, Argentina built in 1952 under president Juan Perón, named Autódromo 17 de Octubre after the date of Loyalty Day until Perón's overthrow. It was later renamed after Argentinian racing driver brothers, Juan Gálvez (1916–1963) and Oscar Alfredo Gálvez (1913–1989).

The Argentine Republic motorcycle Grand Prix is a motorcycling event that is part of the FIM Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. The Grand Prix returned in 2014 with a race at Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo. Previously, the event was held ten times at the Autódromo Oscar Alfredo Gálvez in the capital city of Buenos Aires between 1961 and 1999 and was known as the Argentine motorcycle Grand Prix. The event is due to take place at the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo until at least 2025.

General Savio is a station on the Buenos Aires Premetro. The station is on the branch that terminates at General Savio station. It was opened on 29 April 1987 together with the other Premetro stations. The station is located between the Barrios of Villa Lugano and Villa Riachuelo, near the Autódromo Juan y Oscar Gálvez. It is the terminal station on this branch of the Premetro. From here passengers may transfer to the Metrobus Sur BRT line.

Aldo Bonzi is a town in La Matanza Partido, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It is located within the Greater Buenos Aires metro area. The town owes its name to Turin-born businessman Dr. Aldo Bonzi (1852–1935), who arrived in Argentina in 1896. Bonzi and his partner, Maurizio Andreossi of Switzerland, purchased an estancia in Córdoba Province, where they raised Aberdeen Angus cattle as well as grains. They then purchased land west of Buenos Aires from the Carminotti family, reselling a portion to the Buenos Aires Midland Railway in 1908. The arrival of this rail line prompted the establishment of the settlement as Villa del Prado in 1911.The town's master plan was approved by La Matanza County in 1917, and in 1918, Bonzi donated further land for the construction of a parish church and a school. The Church of Our Lady of Grace (Nuestra Señora de las Gracias) was consecrated in 1927.

Villa Fiorito is a city in the Lomas de Zamora Partido of Buenos Aires Province, to the south of central Buenos Aires, Argentina. It forms part of the Greater Buenos Aires urban conurbation. Many Italian and Spanish descendants live there. In recent decades people from other provinces have come to live near central Buenos Aires, creating new slums in the city. Diego Maradona, considered one of the best footballers of all time, was raised in Villa Fiorito.

Villa Lugano is a barrio (neighbourhood) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, located in the south of the city. It has a population of approximately 114,000 people. It is delimited by Avenida Eva Perón, Avenida General Paz, Calle José Barros Pazos, Avenida Lisandro de la Torre, Avenida Coronel Roca and Avenida Escalada. To the south-east it limits with La Matanza Partido. Generally a working-class neighbourhood, Villa Lugano is characterised by its numerous public housing complexes built in the late 20th century, such as Barrio General Manuel Savio (commonly known as Lugano 1 y 2), Barrio Cardenal Antonio Samoré, Barrio Cardenal Copello, and Barrio Comandante Luis Piedrabuena.
