Święta Katarzyna (Polish: [ˈɕfjɛnta kataˈʐɨna], "Saint Catherine"; German: Kattern) is a village in Gmina Siechnice, Wrocław County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.Before 1 January 2010, the district of Gmina Siechnice was called Gmina Święta Katarzyna, and Święta Katarzyna was its seat. (This was one of only two cases in Poland where a gmina contained a town but had its administrative seat in a village; the remaining one is Gmina Nowe Skalmierzyce.) The village had a population of 1,872 in 2006, rising to 2258 in 2015. It lies approximately 12 kilometres (7 mi) south-east of the regional capital Wrocław. It first appears in written records in 1257 as Santa Katherine. Buildings of interest include the fortified church of Saint Catherine, which dates to at least 1257, and has been rebuilt on several occasions, including in 1720 and after the Second World War. The church contains a picture of the Madonna of Częstochowa, and is considered a Marian shrine. The Wrocław eastern bypass runs through Święta Katarzyna, improving the village's transport links with the city.

Breslau-Dürrgoy concentration camp or KZ Dürrgoy was a short-lived Nazi German concentration camp set up in the southern part of Wrocław (German: Breslau), then in Germany, before World War II on the grounds of the old fertilizer factory "Silesia". It was located in what, since 1945, has become known as the Tarnogaj neighbourhood of Wrocław (German: Dürrgoy), at the Strehlener Chaussee or Strzeliński Street (today ul. Bardzka), opposite the cemetery of the Holy Ghost. The camp, intended for the opponents of Nazism, was established at a place of the former POW camp for French prisoners of World War I, converted and utilized by the fertilizer factory. The new camp was founded on the initiative of the commander of SA in Silesia, SA-Obergruppenführer Edmund Heines, on 12 March 1933, and liquidated on 10 August 1933 with all prisoners transported to a larger concentration camp at Osnabrück.

Krzyki ([ˈkʂɨki], German: Krietern): is one of the five administrative boroughs (dzielnicas) of Wrocław, Poland. Its functions were largely taken over on 8 March 1990 by the Municipal Office of the newly established Wrocław Municipality. The name, though, remained in use, mainly for statistical and administrative purposes.It is located in the south of the city. The other boroughs are Fabryczna, Śródmieście, Psie Pole and Stare Miasto. Krzyki is also the name of one of the settlements within this borough.

Prior to 1945 it was in Germany. The village is 10 km from Wrocław and is the part of eastern part of Wrocaław's bypass.The village has a population of 1,348.

WUWA (German: Wohnungs- und Werkraumausstellung, Workplace and House Exhibition) was a building exhibition held in Breslau, Weimar Republic (today Wroclaw, Poland) in 1929. Organized by the Silesian committee of the Deutsche Werkbund, close to the Scheitniger Park (currently Tramwajowa, Dembowskiego, Mikolaja Kopernika and Zielonego Dębu streets). Several local architects, mainly members of Werkbund, participated in the exhibition. 32 different types of buildings were presented to serve as "standards". The main focus was on simple, but not trivial architectonical form and functionality. All 32 buildings were built within a three-month period. Recreational areas were a part of this project, together with a wooden kindergarten which was supposed to show new architectural trends. One of the most interesting buildings of the complex is Hans Scharoun's house for singles and young couples, which now serves as a hotel. The entire area received the European Heritage Label from the European Commission.

The Wrocław Zoological Garden, known simply as the Wrocław Zoo (Polish: Ogród Zoologiczny we Wrocławiu), is a zoo on Wróblewskiego Street in Wrocław, Poland. It is the oldest zoo in Poland, having been opened in 1865 as the Breslau Zoological Garden while the city was part of Prussia. It is also the largest (in terms of the number of animals) zoo in Poland. The zoo covers 33 hectares (82 acres) in downtown Wrocław. It is home to about 10,500 animals representing about 1,132 species. In terms of the number of animal species it is the third largest zoological garden in the world.The Wrocław Zoo is the most visited zoo in Poland and the fifth most visited zoo in Europe.The zoo is an accredited member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA).
