Central Features Contemporary Art

Richard Levy Gallery, established in 1991 in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico, specializes in contemporary art. The gallery program includes work by John Baldessari, Thomas Barrow, Wilson Bentley, William Betts, Debra Bloomfield, Xuan Chen, John Chervinsky, Constance DeJong, Richard Estes, Alex Katz, Jeff Kellar, Jay Kelly, Jenna Kuiper, Isa Leshko, Matt Magee, Rania Matar, Matthew McConville, Emi Ozawa, Gordon Parks, Antoine Predock, Willy Bo Richardson, Ed Ruscha, Manjari Sharma, Eric Tillinghast, Mary Tsiongas, James Turrell, Tom Waldron, and Pablo Zuleta Zahr. The gallery has participated in special global initiatives like 2015 On the Map: Unfolding Albuquerque Art + Design, ISEA 2012: Machine Wilderness and 2009's LAND/ART New Mexico.

Maisel's Indian Trading Post was located in the city of Albuquerque, county of Bernalillo, in the U.S. state of New Mexico. It was added to the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties and the National Register of Historic Places listings in Bernalillo County, New Mexico in 1993. Maisel’s was closed permanently in late April, 2020, during the COVID-19 shut down.

The McCanna–Hubbell Building, also known as the AG&E Building, is a historic commercial building in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. Built in 1915, it is a two-story brick structure with a prominent cornice. From 1917 to the mid-1960s the building was the headquarters of the Albuquerque Gas & Electric Company, which later became the Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM). During this period the piers and cornice of the building were decorated with hundreds of electric light bulbs, the sockets for which are still in place. PNM later moved two blocks south to the PNM Building on Silver Avenue.The property was added to the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1981 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is located on the southeast corner of 5th Street and Central Avenue, adjacent to the S. H. Kress Building and directly across the street from the KiMo Theater.

The Main Library is a public library in Downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico and the main branch of the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Library system. Opened in 1975, it was designed by local architect George Pearl and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019. The library is a concrete-framed Brutalist structure designed to maximize the flexibility of the interior space with a modular layout and movable partitions. Pearl considered it one of his "three or four most important" designs. In 2020, the building was designated an Albuquerque historic landmark.

The Dennis Chavez Federal Building is a high-rise federal office building and courthouse located at 500 Gold Avenue SW in Downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was completed in 1965 and was built with the purpose of housing the U.S. District Court as well as offices of various federal agencies including the U.S. Postal Service, Veterans Administration, U.S. Public Health Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and Bureau of Indian Affairs. Originally known simply as the U.S. Courthouse and Federal Office Building, the building was renamed in honor of longtime U.S. Senator Dennis Chavez in 1976. The Dennis Chavez Building was designed by the Albuquerque firm of Flatow, Moore, Bryan, and Fairburn, which had previously been responsible for other local highrises like the Simms Building and Bank of the West Tower. The steel-framed building is faced with polished granite, with New Mexico marble used in the ground floor lobby. It is 197 feet (60 m) in height and has 13 above-ground floors with a basement and underground parking garage. Hegeman-Harris Company of New York City was the general contractor. When built, it was the third-tallest building in New Mexico after the Bank of the West Tower and the New Mexico Bank & Trust Building. It is currently the seventh-tallest building in Albuquerque. The District Court relocated to the newly built Pete V. Domenici United States Courthouse in 1998, but the U.S. Bankruptcy Court is still housed in the Dennis Chavez Building.

The John Pearce House is a historic house in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is notable for its architecture and as the only extant house on the Downtown section of Central Avenue, which is otherwise occupied entirely by commercial buildings. The house was built in 1905 by Dr. John F. Pearce (c. 1859–1937), one of the city's first physicians. The contractor, Wallace Hesselden, also built the Henry Mann House the same year. After Pearce moved out of the house in 1933, it was used for various functions including a boarding house and chiropractic clinic. In 1982, the house was renovated and converted to office space. The architect for the renovation was Antoine Predock. The property was added to the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties and the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It is next door to another historic structure, the Skinner Building. The house is a two-and-a-half-story building generally adhering to the American Foursquare design, with a rectangular plan, a pyramidal hipped roof with dormers on three sides, and a full-width porch. The ground floor and porch columns are faced with dark-colored clinker brick, while the second floor is stuccoed with half-timbering reminiscent of the Tudor Revival style. Both of these wall treatments are unusual for Albuquerque. The clinker brick was also used to build a wall and walkway in front of the house.

The Albuquerque Bernalillo County Library is the public library system serving greater Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. It includes seventeen branch libraries as well as the downtown Main Library.

The Federal Building and United States Courthouse, built in 1930, is a historic landmark located in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is part of the complex of federal buildings on Gold Avenue that includes the Old Post Office, Dennis Chavez Federal Building, and the Federal Building at 517 Gold SW. The imposing six-story building, faced with limestone and buff-colored terra-cotta tile in a brick pattern with molded inlays, is topped with a Mediterranean-style red tile roof and a domed cupola. The building was designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect under James A. Wetmore.The lobby of the Federal Building contains a mural by Loren Mozley titled The Rebellion of 1680 which depicts the Pueblo Revolt. Another mural, Justice Tempered with Mercy by Emil Bisttram, adorns the wall outside the District Courtroom on the sixth floor. This historically significant courtroom was used by the U.S. District Court until it relocated to the Dennis Chavez Building in 1965. The courtroom was restored to its original appearance in 1981.The Federal Building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The KiMo Theatre is a theatre and historic landmark located in Albuquerque, New Mexico on the northeast corner of Central Avenue and Fifth Street. It was built in 1927 in the extravagant Pueblo Deco architecture, which is a blend of adobe-style Pueblo Revival architecture building styles (rounded corners and edges), decorative motifs from indigenous cultures, and the soaring lines and linear repetition found in American Art Deco architecture.

The S. H. Kress Building is a historic commercial building in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. Built in 1925 by the S. H. Kress & Co. department store chain, it is notable as a well-preserved early 20th century retail building. It was added to the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties and the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Amy Biehl High School is a charter high school (275 students, grades 9-12) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The school is now housed in the Old Post Office building in Downtown Albuquerque. The school is named after Amy Biehl, an anti-Apartheid activist who was murdered by a black mob in South Africa in 1993.

The Old Post Office is the oldest surviving federal building in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Located at the northwest corner of Fourth and Gold in downtown Albuquerque, the Spanish Colonial Revival-style building was built in 1908 under the supervision of architect James Knox Taylor. Several federal agencies were initially housed in the Post Office building but it quickly became overcrowded, necessitating the construction of the Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse next door in 1930. The post office remained in the older building until 1972. Today the interior of the Old Post Office has been remodeled to house the Amy Biehl Charter High School. The Old Post Office was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It is a part of a complex of Albuquerque federal buildings that includes the National Register-listed U.S. Courthouse (b. 1930), the former Federal Building (b. 1960) at 517 Gold SW, and the Chavez Federal Building (b. 1965).
