Pine River Site

The US 31–Island Lake Outlet Bridge is a double-leaf bascule bridge in downtown Charlevoix in the U.S. state of Michigan. The bridge carries U.S. Highway 31 (known locally as Bridge Street) across Island Lake Outlet (also known as the Pine River Channel) that ultimately connects Lake Charlevoix to Lake Michigan. It is the fifth bridge to cross the channel there with the first being a pedestrian-only structure that was built in the nineteenth century. The bridge was planned in 1940, but World War II delayed the acceptance of bids until 1947. Construction finished in 1949 and the bridge opened to traffic in late June of that year. The bridge is part of the National Highway System.

Charlevoix ( SHAR-lə-voy) is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is the county seat of Charlevoix County. Part of Northern Michigan, Charlevoix is located on an isthmus between Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix, bisected by the short Pine River. Charlevoix serves as the main access point for Beaver Island, the largest island in Lake Michigan, which can be accessed by Island Airways or carferry. The population of Charlevoix was 2,348 at the 2020 census. Charlevoix is mostly surrounded by Charlevoix Township, but the two are administered autonomously.

The Charlevoix South Pier Light Station is located on Lake Michigan at the entrance to Lake Charlevoix in Charlevoix County in the U.S. state of Michigan at the end of the south pier/breakwater of the channel leading to Round Lake in the city of Charlevoix.

The Charlevoix City Park Site is an archaeological site located between Bridge Street and Round Lake in Charlevoix, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.The site is a Woodland period occupation, approximately AD 1000 - AD 1300.

Charlevoix Township is a civil township of Charlevoix County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,645 at the 2010 census.The township surrounds the city of Charlevoix in two segments along Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix, but the township and city are administered automously.

The Chicago and West Michigan Railroad Charlevoix Station is a railroad depot located on Chicago Avenue in Charlevoix, Michigan. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Charlevoix Municipal Airport (ICAO: KCVX, FAA LID: CVX) is a city-owned, public-use airport located one nautical mile (2 km) southwest of the central business district of Charlevoix, a city in Charlevoix County, Michigan, United States. It is mostly used for general aviation, but also offers passenger service to Beaver Island via Island Airways and Fresh Air Aviation.As per Federal Aviation Administration records, the airport had 17,854 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2008, 15,427 enplanements in 2009, and 14,966 in 2010. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a non primary commercial service facility.Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, Charlevoix Municipal Airport is assigned CVX by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA.

The Mt. McSauba Site, also designated 20CX23, is an archaeological site located near Charlevoix, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The site is an encampment on a dune.

The Belvedere Club, located south of Charlevoix, Michigan is a summer home association of 91 cottages between Round Lake and Lake Charlevoix in Northern Michigan founded in 1878. Members are generally from upper class households and originate from the Midwest and South. Many families have been resorting to the club for generations. During the summer season, late June through Labor Day, the Club's entrance is staffed to limit non-member tourist traffic. Most of the cottages are not winterized, but the summer season has been expanding in recent decades to include cottages opening in the spring with many cottages remaining in use through Michigan's fall leaf color season.The club's grounds include a beach, a tennis club, parks and gardens, and a casino dining club, all of which are private. The Belvedere Golf Club, home of the Michigan Amateur Golf Championship for many decades in the mid-20th century, is affiliated with the Belvedere Club. The grounds lie partly in Charlevoix Township and partly in Marion Township, in Charlevoix County, Michigan. The club was founded in 1878 by Baptists from Kalamazoo as the Charlevoix Resort Association. In 1879, a boarding-home style hotel was built on the grounds for guests and loggers. The land was divided into lots and leased for construction of summer cottages. Cottage-building had accelerated by 1882; by various estimates, most cottages were constructed either before 1900 or before 1940. Most feature ornate, bargeboard cupolas and textured wall surfaces. In 1923, a casino was built and the name of the association was changed to the Belvedere Club.In 1887, the 40-room Belvedere Hotel was built on the grounds of the club, replacing the previous hotel that burned down in 1886. The hotel would later be expanded to 85 rooms by 1902, hosting prominent guests such as Eliot Ness, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Bing Crosby, Booth Tarkington, Adlai Stevenson, Barry Goldwater, and Dean Acheson. The hotel was demolished in 1960, following a postwar decline in the 1950s.The club was designated a Michigan State Historic Site on November 14, 1974.

SS Amasa Stone was a 545-foot (166 m) Great Lakes freighter that was sunk as a breakwater in 1965, Charlevoix, Michigan. She was built for the Mesaba Steamship Company by the Detroit Shipbuilding Company of Wyandotte, Michigan. She was launched on March 25, 1905, as hull #158. She was powered by an 1,800-horsepower (1,300 kW) triple expansion steam engine and two scotch marine boilers.

Little Traverse Wheelway is a rail-to-trail bike path and part of U.S Bicycle Route 35 in the state of Michigan. The trail is 26.65 miles (42.89 km) of paved trail which starts in Charlevoix (Waller Road) and ends in Harbor Springs (East Lake Road). The Little Traverse Wheelway will eventually connect to the TART Trail, but for now it connects with North Western State Trail at Spring Lake Park. WMKT (1270 AM) is a radio station licensed to Charlevoix, Michigan, broadcasting a talk radio format. The station also broadcasts on two FM translators on W272CR 102.3 (formerly 92.1) and W277DY 103.3 and streams online. The station features local programming with local news and weather forecasts by Nick Rhudy every weekday during the 6 AM to Noon hours. Nick Rhudy also has a daily, local radio show from 5 PM to 6 PM, "Talk of the North with Nick Rhudy. The rest of the station's lineup are from syndicated sources. The station is a Fox News Radio affiliate.
