Harbor Springs is a city and resort community in Emmet County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,274 in the 2020 census.Harbor Springs is in a sheltered bay on the north shore of the Little Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan. The Little Traverse Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse on the Harbor Point peninsula, which shelters the deepest natural harbor on the Great Lakes. M-119 connects with US 31 7 miles (11 km) east and south at Bay View and Petoskey, which is 4 miles (6.4 km) away on the south side of the harbor. The area is known for its historic summer resorts, such as Wequetonsing, which was founded by Illinois businessmen and lawyers Henry Stryker III, and Henry Brigham McClure. They were both connected with the Jacob Bunn industrial dynasty of Illinois.

Club Manitou was an infamous mid-west summer resort nightclub-casino located in Harbor Springs in northern Michigan, United States that existed from 1929 until 1952. It was a speakeasy run by The Purple Gang during Prohibition and the Great Depression years featuring a hidden basement of gambling and alcohol for wealthy Midwestern summer resort goers.

The Chief Andrew J. Blackbird House, also known as the Andrew J. Blackbird Museum, is located at 368 East Main Street in Harbor Springs, Michigan. Now a museum, it was built as the home of the Chief Andrew Blackbird family. The house was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, and currently operates as a museum of American Indian artifacts.

The Shay Hexagon House is a house located at 396 East Main Street in Harbor Springs, Michigan. It was part of a complex of three buildings (including a machine shop and waterworks, now demolished, located across Judd Street) built by Ephraim Shay. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

St. Francis Solanus Mission is a historic mission on W. Lake Street in Petoskey, Michigan. It is the only existing building in the Arbre Croche district dating from the time of Bishop Frederic Baraga, and is the oldest building still standing in Petoskey, as well as one of the oldest in northern lower Michigan. The mission was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

The J. M. Wells House is a private house located at 203 Lake Street in Petoskey, Michigan. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.The J.M. Wells House is a two-and-a-half-story frame Queen Anne side gable structure. A gabled bay on the front facade intersects the main gable; an enclosed entrance porch is adjacent to the bay. The building is clad with clapboard siding, with a band of fishscales above the first story level. Windows are one-over-one double hung units.This house was built in approximately 1899. It was associated with J. M. Wells, who was the proprietor of a business in Petoskey at eh turn of the century. By 1917, it was owned by James Riggle, proprietor of the Open Air Roller Rink. Bu 1928, James Dickes was the owner.

It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.The Frank Schapler House is an unusual example in Petoskey of a bungalow with Prairie School and Period architectural influences. It is a hip-roof bungalow constructed of blond brick. It has hip-roof entrance porch, supported by pier arches, positioned asymmetrically in the front. The house has "Chicago style" windows, with a broad central unit flanked by narrower windows.The Frank Schapler House was likely constructed in the 1920s.

Mineral Well Park is a park located on the east side of the Bear River at West Lake Street in Petoskey, Michigan. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

The Petoskey Public Works Utility Building, is a utility building located at 106 West Lake Street in Petoskey, Michigan. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.The Petoskey Public Works Utility Building is a two-story concrete Moderne structure with metal-framed windows. A single-story addition extends to one side at the rear of the building. The entry bay protrudes forward. The exterior walls are grooved, referencing the fluting seen in classical piers.The Petoskey Public Works Utility Building was constructed in 1937, replacing another facility that had stood on the site for many years. The building is part of a long-time commitment by the city to generate electrical power for the community.
