The Photothèque (officially Photothèque de la Ville de Luxembourg) in Luxembourg City in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg houses several large collections of photographs of the city taken between 1855 and today. Open to the public, it is modelled on the photothèque at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and has adopted the same classification system.

The European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) is a public-private partnership in High Performance Computing (HPC), enabling the pooling of European Union–level resources with the resources of participating EU Member States and participating associated states of the Horizon Europe and Digital Europe programmes, as well as private stakeholders. The Joint Undertaking has the twin stated aims of developing a pan-European supercomputing infrastructure, and supporting research and innovation activities. Located in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, the Joint Undertaking started operating in November 2018 under the control of the European Commission and became autonomous in 2020.

The Consumers, Health, Agriculture and Food Executive Agency (Chafea) was an executive agency of the European Union, set up by the European Commission to manage four programmes on its behalf, in the domains of health, consumer protection, food safety, and the promotion of European agricultural products. From April 2021 on, these programmes were reassigned to other agencies, most notably the newly created Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA).

Luxembourg is a canton in the south of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Its name, like the name of the Grand Duchy itself, derives from the name of its principal city, Luxembourg (more commonly known as Luxembourg City). It is not to be confused with the former district of Luxembourg, one of three administrative units in Luxembourg abolished in October 2015. It is the only canton, other than Mersch, that is entirely surrounded by other cantons and, therefore, has no international boundary. Its capital is Luxembourg.

The Euroforum building (also known as EUFO) is an office complex used by the European Commission in Cloche d'Or, Gasperich, Luxembourg City, Luxembourg. It hosts, amongst other European Commission departments, the Euratom Supply Agency.

The Conservatoire de Luxembourg is a conservatoire in Luxembourg City, in southern Luxembourg. The conservatoire was founded in 1906, after a private donation made possible its establishment, which had been mandated under a Grand Ducal decree issued in 1904. The conservatoire currently has over 2,600 students, from 60 countries, studying over 5,000 courses in total.It is located on Campus Geesseknäppchen, along with several other educational institutions; most of the campus lies in Hollerich, but the western part, in which the Conservatoire is located, is in Merl quarter.The need for a new building emerged in the 1970s as a result of increasing demand. The foundation stone for the building on rue Charles Martel was laid on 19 June 1981, leading to the building's inauguration in 1984. There is a Westenfelder organ in the conservatoire's grand auditorium, the first concert hall organ in Luxembourg. The auditorium's excellent acoustics have attracted a wide range of performing artists including Bernard Haitink, Mstislav Rostropovich, Martha Argerich, Felicity Lott and Lazar Berman.The conservatoire also houses a museum of early instruments, a specialist library, a music library and a large archive of musical works.

The Lycée Aline Mayrisch is a high school in Luxembourg City, in southern Luxembourg. It is located on Campus Geesseknäppchen, along with several other educational institutions, most of which, including the Lycée Aline Mayrisch, is in the quarter of Hollerich, in the south-west of the city.It is named after Aline Mayrisch: a famous women's rights campaigner, socialite, and philanthropist, President of the Luxembourgian Red Cross, and wife of industrialist Émile Mayrisch.

Lycée Michel Rodange, abbreviated to LMRL, is a high school in Luxembourg City, in southern Luxembourg. It is located on Campus Geesseknäppchen, along with several other educational institutions, most of which, including Lycée Michel Rodange, is in the quarter of Hollerich, in the south-west of the city.It was founded by law on 5 August 1968 as the 'Nouveau Lycée de Luxembourg' (English: Luxembourg New School), but was renamed by Grand Ducal decree on 19 January 1970 to its current name, after Michel Rodange, the author of Luxembourg's national epic, Rénert the Fox. Rodange counts Jean-Claude Juncker, the President of the European Commission as its alumnus.

The Stade de Luxembourg is the national stadium of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, located in the Luxembourg City quarter of Gasperich. The stadium is host to Luxembourg's national football and rugby teams, as well as the final of the Coupe de Luxembourg, and is listed as a Category 4 stadium by UEFA allowing it to host international matches. Construction on the stadium occurred between September 2017 and July 2021, missing the original 2019 target date for completion. On 1 September 2021, the stadium marked its official opening by hosting its first international match between the Luxembourg and Azerbaijan men's football teams as part of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The inauguration ceremony for the stadium took place later that month, on 25 September. The Stade de Luxembourg replaces the outdated Josy Barthel stadium, due for demolition.

Campus Geesseknäppchen is a campus in Luxembourg City, in southern Luxembourg, that is shared by a number of academic institutions. The campus is located in the southwest of the city, just to the north of the terminus of the A4 motorway. It is predominantly in the quarter of Hollerich, although the western part (including the Conservatoire) lies in Merl. Shaped roughly like a right triangle, the campus measures 800 metres (880 yards) east-west along the hypotenuse, and 520 metres (570 yards) north-south at its maximum. The Kockelscheuer Sport Centre (aka CK Sport Center, Kockelscheuer) is a tennis complex in Kockelscheuer, Luxembourg.In April 1984, a men's tournament single edition was organized as part of the Grand Prix circuit. It was played indoors on carpet. Ivan Lendl won the singles event after defeating Tomáš Šmíd in the final (6–4, 6–4) while singles runner-up Tomáš Šmíd teamed-up with Anders Järryd to win the doubles event against Mark Edmondson and Sherwood Stewart (6–3, 7–5). Currently, the complex is the host of the annual international stop, the BGL Luxembourg Open.

The 1952 UCI Road World Championships was the 23rd edition of the UCI Road World Championships. It took place on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 August 1952 in Luxembourg, Luxembourg. The race for amateurs was ridden on Saturday, August 23. It was 175 kilometres long (10 laps) and was decided in a sprint of a group of 17 riders, which ended in a big confusion. Dutchman Piet van den Brekel and Italian Luciano Ciancola crossed the finish line almost at the same time. Even the finish photo could not show a clear difference. First, Van den Brekel received the flowers, but moments later the Italian was declared world champion. Van den Brekel was disqualified in the evening because he had accepted a spectator's spare bike on the way. André Noyelle thus came second and Luxembourger Roger Ludwig third The professional road race was held on Sunday, August 24. 48 riders from nine countries participated. The race was 280 kilometres long and covered 16 laps of 17.5 kilometres. The race was surprisingly won by German outsider Heinz Müller who thus became the first German world champion among professional cyclists. In the same period, the 1952 UCI Track Cycling World Championships was organized in the Parc des Princes in Paris, France.
