Karl May School (Russian: Петербургская школа Карла Мая) is a secondary school in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

The Bestuzhev Courses (Russian: Бестужевские курсы) in Saint Petersburg were the largest and most prominent women's higher education institution in Imperial Russia. The institute opened its doors in 1878. It was named after Konstantin Bestuzhev-Ryumin, the first director. However, the lead organizing force was provided by Nadezhda Stasova, Anna Filosofova, and several other women. Other professors included Baudouin de Courtenay, Alexander Borodin, Faddei Zielinski, Dmitry Mendeleyev, Ivan Sechenov, and Sergey Platonov. An assistant professor there was Vera Bogdanovskaya, the first female chemist to die as a result of her own research. Nadezhda Krupskaya and Maria Piłsudska were among the graduates. The courses occupied a purpose-built edifice on Vasilievsky Island. After the Russian Revolution, they were reorganized as the Third University of Petrograd, which was merged into the Petrograd University in September 1919.

St. Petersburg State Institute of Psychology and Social Work (SPbGIPSR, Russian: Санкт-Петербургский государственный институт психологии и социальной работы, СПбГИПСР) is the only Russian state higher education institution of psychological and social profile in the Northwestern Federal District.

Municipal Okrug #7 (Russian: муниципа́льный о́круг № 7) is a municipal okrug of Vasileostrovsky District of the federal city of St. Petersburg, Russia. Population: 39,168 (2010 Census); 45,696 (2002 Census).It borders Sredny Avenue, 25 Line, Bolshoy Avenue, Detskaya Street, and Kosaya Line in the north and in the west, the Neva River in the south and in east. The eastern side of the okrug is old. The majority of the tourist sights, such as the Old Saint Petersburg Stock Exchange and Rostral Columns, Kunstkamera, Saint Petersburg State University, Imperial Academy of Arts, and the Menshikov Palace are located there. The central part is mostly financial and is home to the Saint Petersburg Stock Exchange. The western side is mostly industrial and houses the port of Saint Petersburg. Artmuza is a contemporary art gallery and a creative space in Saint Petersburg on Vasilievsky Island in Russia. Since 2013, it has been at the location of the former factory of musical instruments "Muzdetal".

As of the 2010 Census, its population was 32,236, down from 32,793 recorded during the 2002 Census.Until May 2008 it was known as Municipal Okrug #8 (муниципальный округ №8). The Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God (Russian: Церковь Успения Пресвятой Богородицы) is a Russian Orthodox Church building in Saint Petersburg. Its construction started in 1894 when monks from the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra decided to expand the monastic branch of the monastery. Work on the construction lasted six years, and the church was designed in the neo-Byzantine style by Vasily Kosyakov.

The Faculty of Law at Saint Petersburg State University is the oldest law school and one of the biggest research centers in Russia.

Saint Petersburg Lyceum 30 (Russian: Физико-математический лицей №30), is a public high school in Saint Petersburg, Russia that specializes in mathematics and physics. The school opened in 1897 became a specialized city school in 1965. The school is noted for its strong academic programs, and is also well known for its computer section named CGSG (Computer Graphics Support Group), whose members hold top positions at various programming contests.

Vasileostrovkaya (Russian: Василеостро́вская) - is a station on the Nevsko–Vasileostrovskaya Line in St Petersburg. It is named after Vasilyevsky Island where the station is located.

Vasilyevsky Island (Russian: Васи́льевский о́стров, Vasilyevsky Ostrov, V.O.) is an island in St. Petersburg, Russia, bordered by the Bolshaya Neva and Malaya Neva Rivers (in the delta of the Neva River) in the south and northeast, and by Neva Bay of the Gulf of Finland in the west. Vasilyevsky Island is separated from Dekabristov Island by the Smolenka River. Together they form the territory of Vasileostrovsky District, an administrative division of Saint Petersburg. Situated just across the river from the Winter Palace, it constitutes a large portion of the city's historic center. Two of the most famous St. Petersburg bridges, Palace Bridge and Blagoveshchensky Bridge, connect it with the mainland to the south. The Exchange Bridge and Tuchkov Bridge across the Malaya Neva connect it with Petrogradsky Island. Vasilyevsky Island is served by Vasileostrovskaya and Primorskaya stations of Saint Petersburg Metro (Line 3 ). There are plans to build new Metro stations on Vasilyevsky Island by extending Line 4 (the Orange Line) to the Island. In addition, the island is serviced by bus routes and tramway lines.
