Wadenhoe Marsh and Achurch Meadow

Wadenhoe is a village and civil parish in North Northamptonshire. The population (including Pilton and Stoke Doyle) of the civil parish at the 2011 Census was 244. It is on the River Nene, approximately 4 miles from Thrapston and 10 miles from Corby. The Nene Way long-distance footpath passes through the village.

All Saints’ Church is a historic Anglican church in the village of Aldwincle, Northamptonshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is under the care of The Churches Conservation Trust.

Harper's Brook is a tributary of the River Nene which runs through Northamptonshire. According to sources (ordnance survey sheet 141) it rises to the North of Desborough and meanders through the north of the county of Northamptonshire, passing through the town of Corby and on until it joins the River Nene at Aldwinckle, just north of Thrapston.

Achurch is a village in the civil parish of Thorpe Achurch in the North Northamptonshire district of Northamptonshire, England. The village is situated on a small rise above the River Nene, and lies 5 miles (8 km) south of the market town of Oundle. As well as Achurch, the parish also includes the village of Thorpe Waterville and surrounding rural areas. At the 2021 census the parish had a population of 188. It shares a grouped parish council with the neighbouring parish of Lilford-cum-Wigsthorpe. The parish includes the Grade II* listed Church of St. John the Baptist, an early and late 13th-century Anglican church restored and enlarged by architect William Slater in 1862.

The Church of St. John the Baptist is a Grade II* listed church in Achurch, Northamptonshire. The adjacent rectory dates from 1633. The church dates from around the early 13th century. The church was rebuilt by Sir Ascelin de Waterville upon his return from the Third Crusade.

Aldwincle Marsh is a 2-hectare (4.9-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Thrapston in Northamptonshire. This marsh and fen on shallow peat is formed by seepage from the boundary between clay and limestone. Plants in wet areas include blunt-flowered rush, marsh pennywort, wild angelica and Menyanthes trifoliata, a rare species of bogbean. Drier areas have grasses and herbs which attract butterflies and dragonflies. The site includes a stretch of Harpers Brook. The site is private land with no public access, but the Nene Way runs along its eastern boundary.

Thorpe Waterville Castle was a medieval fortified manor house near Thorpe Waterville, Northamptonshire, England.

Thorpe Waterville is a village in the civil parish of Thorpe Achurch in the North Northamptonshire district of Northamptonshire, England. It was first attested in 1199 as Torp(e), and Thorp Watervile in 1300. Ascelin de Waterville was a landowner in the area in the 12th century.

Pilton is a hamlet and civil parish in North Northamptonshire, England. The population is included in the civil parish of Wadenhoe. The hamlets name means 'Pileca's farm/settlement'.

Titchmarsh Nature Reserve is a 72.7 hectare Local Nature Reserve north of Thrapston in North Northamptonshire. It is owned and managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire. It is part of the Upper Nene Valley Gravel Pits Site of Special Scientific Interest. The River Nene runs through this site, which also has large areas of open water and grassland. There are nationally important numbers of goosanders, wigeons and gadwalls in winter, and banded demoiselle damselflies nest on nettles along the river bank. There is access from Lowick Lane.

Thorpe railway station is a former railway station in Thorpe Waterville, Northamptonshire on the former Northampton and Peterborough Railway line which connected Peterborough and Northampton. In 1846 the line, along with the London and Birmingham, became part of the London and North Western Railway. At grouping in 1923 it became part of the London Midland and Scottish Railway. The station closed in 1964 to passengers.

East Northamptonshire was a local government district in Northamptonshire, England, from 1974 to 2021. Its council was based in Thrapston and Rushden. Other towns included Oundle, Raunds, Irthlingborough and Higham Ferrers. The town of Rushden was by far the largest settlement in the district. The population of the district at the 2011 Census was 86,765. The district bordered onto the Borough of Corby, the Borough of Kettering, the Borough of Wellingborough, the Borough of Bedford, the City of Peterborough, the District of Huntingdonshire, South Kesteven District and the unitary authority county of Rutland. The district was formed on 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, by a merger of the municipal borough of Higham Ferrers, with the urban districts of Irthlingborough, Oundle, Raunds and Rushden, along with Oundle and Thrapston Rural District, and Newton Bromswold from Wellingborough Rural District. Much of the district was home to Rockingham Forest, once a Royal hunting forest which takes its name from the village of Rockingham where William I built a castle. The district was home to several of Northamptonshire's airfields including Spanhoe, King's Cliffe, Deenethorpe, Polebrook, Chelveston and Lyveden.
