Comic Con Paris, or previously known as Kultima and Comic-Con', is a French multi-genre entertainment and comic convention held annually in Paris, Île-de-France, France. From 2007 to 2014, it was held at the Parc des Expositions in Villepinte in the northeastern suburbs of Paris. After a break in 2015, it came back in 2016 and is now held at the Grande halle de la Villette in Paris.

Japan Expo is a convention on Japanese popular culture – the largest of its kind outside Japan – taking place in Paris, France, although it has branched out into a partnership festival – Kultima – and expanded to include some European and US pop culture as well. It is held yearly at the beginning of July for four days (usually from Thursday to Sunday) in the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre (the second-largest convention centre in France). The attendance has increased steadily over the years, with 2,400 visitors welcomed in the first edition in 1999 and more than 252,510 for the 2019 edition. As with the Olympic Games and many other mass gatherings, the 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled because of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The Parc des expositions de Paris-Nord Villepinte (English: Paris Nord Villepinte) is a large convention center located in Villepinte near Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. The center opened in 1982 and is the second-largest in France. The center encompasses 115 hectares and has 246,000 m2 of convention space in eight halls. The center is served by the Parc des Expositions station on the RER B. Paris Nord Villepinte is one metro stop from Charles de Gaulle Airport and 30 minutes from Gare du Nord, Chatelet-Les Halles, Saint Michel RER B stations in Paris city. Managed by Viparis, Paris Nord Villepinte Convention and Exhibition Centre hosts many international professional and consumer exhibitions and conventions, such as All4pack, Europain, Eurosatory, Expofil, Intermat, Maison & Objet, SIAL, Silmo and IPA. At the 2024 Summer Olympics, Villepinte was known as the Arena Paris Nord and was configured to a capacity of 6,000. It hosted boxing preliminaries and quarterfinals, the fencing portion of the modern pentathlon, and will also host the volleyball competitions of the 2024 Summer Paralympics.

Le Thillay (French pronunciation: [lə tijɛ] ) is a commune in the Val-d'Oise department in Île-de-France in northern France.

On 25 July 2000, Air France Flight 4590, a Concorde passenger jet on an international charter flight from Paris to New York, crashed shortly after takeoff, killing all 109 people on board and four on the ground. It was the only fatal Concorde accident during its 27-year operational history.Whilst taking off from Charles de Gaulle Airport, the aircraft ran over debris on the runway, causing a tyre to explode and disintegrate. Tyre fragments, launched upwards at great speed by the rapidly spinning wheel, violently struck the underside of the wing, damaging parts of the landing gear – thus preventing its retraction – and causing the integral fuel tank to rupture. Large amounts of fuel leaking from the rupture ignited, causing a loss of thrust in the left-hand-side engines 1 and 2. The aircraft lifted off, but the loss of thrust, high drag from the extended landing gear, and fire damage to the flight controls made it impossible to maintain control. The jet crashed into a hotel in nearby Gonesse two minutes after takeoff. All nine crew and 100 passengers on board were killed, as well as four people in the hotel. Four other people sustained slight injuries.In the wake of the disaster, the entire Concorde fleet was grounded. It returned to service on November 7, 2001, following the implementation of various modifications to the airframe, but to limited commercial success. The type was finally retired by Air France in May 2003 and by British Airways in November of the same year.

The 1973 Paris Air Show Tu-144 crash was the destruction of the second production Tupolev Tu-144 at Goussainville, Val-d'Oise, France, which killed all six crew members and eight people on the ground. The crash, at the Paris Air Show on Sunday, 3 June 1973, damaged the development program of the Tupolev Tu-144.One theory is that a French Mirage jet sent to photograph the aircraft without the knowledge of the Soviet crew caused the pilots to take evasive maneuvers, resulting in the crash. Another theory is that in a rivalry with the Anglo-French Concorde, the pilots attempted a maneuver that was beyond the capabilities of the aircraft.

The PSA Aulnay-sous-Bois Plant is a former car plant in France, producing approximately 135,700 cars in 2011. The plant was acquired by the PSA Group in 1976 when Peugeot took a majority stake in the Citroën company which had built the plant. The plant is located on the northern edge of Paris at Aulnay-sous-Bois, close to the A1, A3 and A104 autoroutes. The plant came on stream on 24 April 1973, just one month before Citroën and Fiat announced their "divorce", ending a collaboration agreement entered into amid much fanfare just seven year earlier, in 1968.The Aulnay plant's closure was scheduled for 2014, but in the end this was brought forward and the last car came off the line in October 2013. The plant incorporated manufacturing, painting and assembly departments including, between 1979 and 2008, two assembly lines and all the ancillary activities of an integrated car plant. It also housed two divisions unique within the PSA group: The "Anti-pollution" department is where the emissions of all new models were measured: it was due for closure in August 2012. The "Citroën repository", opened in 2001 is where examples of all the brand's former models were gathered: the repository is not a museum and is not normally open to visitors.

Goussainville (French pronunciation: [ɡusɛ̃vil] ) is a commune in the department of Val-d'Oise, northern France. It is located 20.6 km (12.8 mi) north-northeast from the centre of Paris, near Charles de Gaulle Airport. Goussainville is part of the urban unit (agglomeration) of Paris.Goussainville was the site of the crash of the supersonic Tupolev Tu-144 during the 1973 Paris Air Show which led to the deaths of all six people on board and eight more on the ground and is less than 6 km from Gonesse, the site of the crash of the supersonic Concorde operating as Air France Flight 4590 on 25 July 2000. In 1974, a year after the deadly Tupolev Tu-144 crash, Charles de Gaulle Airport opened—putting the small commune directly in the flight path of the busy airport. The constant noise was a major disturbance and acted as a "constant reminder of the deadly crash."
